    In my experience it takes me years to make progress twoards what I want but over a lifetime you get there eventually. The problem is you only live so long so if it takes 20 years to achieve one goal, you need to pick what you want really carefully. Going all different directions gets you no where.

      That's why a self help specialist advocates for an overarching mission that can't be accomplished in a lifetime. The study of one's own mind is an example. It helps to live a self-actualized life where those two or three concrete goals you mentioned are grounded in the values and desires of one's true self, or as close as one can get to it.

    I think another word to use as a substitute for "law of attraction" is focus. When you focus on what you want, and you do the daily things necessary to get to your goal in mind, then yes the law of attraction works. There are countless examples of people who perservere in order to attain their goals. They STAY FOCUSED regardless of obstacles. Not eveyone has that kind of will. Plus you have to consider Some goals are easier to achieve in the short term, while others can take much longer. Also, We all have talents and weaknesses unique to us. So certain goals will require group cohesion.
    People who say "the law of attraction doesnt work." most likely lack the follow through necessary to reap the fruits of their labor. Or they expect to get to their destination, without the effort required.
    That being said, I understand that there are such things as mental and physical disabilities which may not be surmounted regardless of effort.

    The Law of Attraction is taken out of context very easily nowadays because people have a hard time of understanding things they cannot physically see. There is no doubt my mind that utilizing the law of attraction to the fullest is one of the most useful tactics humans can use to be successful.

      After a while all thought requires actions: Those who use the LoA counter this with "thoughts are actions" which is not essentially true as that is not based in reality:

      Yes, it certainly does not just evokes an idea that "it's enough to wish for something". First it encourages to act, then on a deeper level it's a call to hypothesize a life's events don't depend as much on "you" as you might think it does.

      True. But here’s how it actually works;
      Know exactly what you want and be able to speak it. Remember, if you can’t describe it to a 3 year old you don’t know what it is.
      Anyway, know what you want and actually say it in as simple and direct terms as possible. Then, say thank you while you use your 5 modes of sensory perception to imagine that you already possess it. An emotional feeling of gratitude is the catalyst for manifestation of materials and/or circumstances.
      See the work of Neville Goddard for a very in depth analysis of the process.

    I think the very last thing he said about the "theoretical integrity of your perceptual frame" at 10:01 was very important in terms of the problems males are having today. It's not that we dont have avenues to success, its that often times these avenues that have historically lead to success, and that we have been taught will also lead to our success, dont work. Once we thought we were on an upwards path and then all of the sudden that path becomes convoluted its hard to recover from that because everything we attempt in the future could theoretically just backfire.

      spit Simply because people with these mental diseases really don’t have much control of their thoughts. So does that mean we automatically attract what our negative thoughts are? I say no, because this law of attraction thing is way over simplified for pop culture. Your thoughts are meaningless in the larger picture so don’t attribute a law to them. Think good thoughts because they make you compassionate towards yourself and others, that’s the gift...

    Jordan. You have an exceptional skill in analysing things as well as then expressing and explaining them to the average Joe and Jane what a huge challenge it is to be able to take something complex, especially if it's something new, and then put it together in ways which others can at least grasp and understand something about it. You speak here of "constants". One of the drawbacks of teaching and preaching anything, is that you can become rather fixed and rigid and closed about what you're teaching and preaching. So certain constants and "truths" and beliefs become your ONLY ones. Or THE only ones. Take Male and Female, for example. Our current and very long standing constant teaches and preaches division, difference and separation. Behaviours and emotions and actions and even ways of thinking are taught and preached as male or female. As well as many other things, too. For example, anger or aggression are seen as "male" or compassion or gentleness are seen as "female" we describe men and women as Venus and Mars. We say we have a male and female hemisphere of our brains. A woman can be told she's too masculine and therefore not too attractive to a man A man can be told he's too feminine and therefore not too attractive to a woman. Right now, there are untold millions and millions of men and women twisting themselves inside out trying to figure out if they have too much of this or not
    enough of that - but if they are less if this and more of that then all will be well in their relationships. And so they're constantly measuring themselves and their failures and successes, up against these "constants". So here's a new "truth" for you to consider...what IF you took away the current "truths" about it and the beliefs about all the divisions and separations and differences? What you then have is the "truth," that it's all simply ENERGY and these energies are UNIVERSAL.

    @andredarin8966 6 років тому +8

    Peterson isn't referring to the "law of attraction". He's merely saying that we have a belief system which is a collection of abstractions that determines the way we interact with the world. This is far different from saying that if I'm 5'4", weigh 130, and run a nine-second forty, I can play in the NFL if that is a part of my belief system--which is what "the law of attraction" would suggest. It might mean I would chase that dream but not that it would manifest simply because it's part of my belief structure. The individual and his belief system do not operate independently from society. As an example, a prevailing social construct seems to be that you're not getting into Harvard with a 2.1 GPA in High School and a SAT or ACT score in the bottom quartile.

If I believe it's the longest of long shots, perhaps even impossible, I won't do the things essential to work towards that goal. I shudder to think about the state of humanity if merely thinking did make it so. We'd all be speaking German now.

    • @YFL.111

      @@andredarin8966 yes I was not trying to discuss about the law of atraction. I was just saying that I see this man is talking about something diferent because the Law of Atraction is based in some esoteric beliefs is not just a way of thinking or motivation.
      About the speaking german😂 no, that is not how the law of atraction works, you think it you have it, sometimes its even the oposite and anyway it doesnt affect others will or destiny. But I was just saying this man is more like a psicologist who talks about what you explained, being motivated , believing in you, but loa is another story and it requiers you to believe in some higher power, enegries, the soul and so many other things for it to be explained or make sense to somebody.

    • @andredarin8966
      @andredarin8966 2 роки тому +1

      ?@@YFL.111 If you are familiar with any of the "pioneers" of this movement going back to the late 19th century, they all warned that belief can be used for evil. Need proof? Consider Joseph Stalin. He visualized transforming the Soviet Union from a peasant society into an industrial and military superpower. However, he ruled by terror, and millions of his own citizens died during his brutal reign.
      Alexander the Great imagined conquering Europe. He was incredibly successful but killed thousands of people to achieve his goals.
      Action, with the exception of instinct, requires cognition, almost always in the form of words or mental imagery. I see very little difference in Osama Bin Laden imagining how he could strike a blow against America and employing "LOA". Once he had concretized his plans, the precise circumstances he needed to achieve them, began to coalesce. He found his sacrificial lambs and the means to train them for his purposes.
      Hitler's beliefs were not fully realized because others had opposing beliefs. In the absence of that opposition, his ambitions to conquer the world could have been realized.
      Churchill, FDR, and Stalin stood in his way.
      We are seeing right before our eyes in the Ukraine how Putin's belief in restoring the Soviet Union to its former position has tilted the world on its axis.
      It is a fact that for better or worse, the imagination and beliefs of one person can alter the destiny of a nation and even the planet.

      I understand what you´re saying, but remember this is not a "UA-cam video" he made, it´s a snippet from a class lesson. It´s "almost" out of context here, because the title is partially misleading, precisely because "the law of attraction" is a simplified concept that became popular, and people going to a "law of attraction" video would expect more "in your face", or "straight to the point" assertions. But it was the video uploader who made the connection between that lecture snippet and the "law of attraction". It´s is not a "wrong title" per se, but it is more of "an argument" the uploader is using to back up his own assertion that "the law of attraction doesn't favor everyone".

    How can sitting on the chair thats completely unnatural for the human being influence the way of thinking.
    Your brains collect the information obout your body wellbeing through the nervous system.
    You might had noticed that the way of thinking is completely different from the person who is running and who is sitting for three hours.
    So your thoughts are changing on the fact that is based on what are you right now doing.
    So can we make learning more effective by including the whole body in the process.
    An example might be illustrated with understanding the situation when you had your own experience with falling down the stairs or just reading the article about global warming....

    Every problem in your life exists because of a deficit in yourself. Once you realise you are not deficient, the problem goes away.

    Stop looking at life as a force against you. Your entire life happens for you.

      It's delusional bullshit, presuming that reality is dynamic and made from the perceptors unconscious, therefore ultimately denying the existence of truth (just as quantum physics tries to).
      This can be considered the first step down into schizophrenia.
      There's several anecdotes if not the majority of people that never overcome those problems they are dealt.
      Therefore those problems are too big or unsolvable for their current state.
      If you propose a child in Africa without food just needs to visualize some turkey all you can eat menu, then you're clearly ignorant of the existence of realty.
      Reality doesn't bend your will, it has its own laws of nature which will bend you (with force) if you don't comply to them.

You will actually focus on that and if you are in earnest about learning that language you will study etc. If you assume that you can just say.." I want to be fluent in Portuguese .. So Cometh forth "Law of Attraction "and maketh this so.. Well, that's ridiculous. There are a lot of people who live their lives with zero focus and their lives clearly show that reality. They accomplish Zero.

      @@calliecalista184 so why would you need a "law" to make it come true that you learn something new? Its fundamentally wrong to say loa is a "law" since it is not true that something always attracts a similar thing. In nature, physics, psychology etc. both "like attracts like" and "opposites attract" happen. Some of the time law of attraction works for people, because of the consequences of them believing in it. It doesn't mean it will always work and that the law isn't bs. But law of attraction has made up a way around this - if it didn't work, then it's because the mentality of your mind was somehow low vibration and wrong. So it shames and blames the person relying on it when it fails to deliver what is expected.

    Law of attraction is instinctual, from natural selection. Take the peahen seeking the peacock with the most tail feathers. If her male progeny are the Alpha peacock, she will be enormously successful. Humans are no different, just that we have a dual reproductive strategy. Also, we seek personality types like ourselves as noted by the research by Dr. Helen Fisher.

    The "law of attraction" is a framework which is only successful inside a cohesive and socially complex environment. Also, it cannot work if "what you want" is unattainable for reasons which are opaque to the actor.
    In other words, the instant you encounter malevolence, or are ignorant about something crucial, you fail. Period. No matter how hard you try. In fact, at that point you are working against your own interests.
    Much better is, as stated many times, to form a reasonable goal you are certain you can accomplish, attack that goal with open eyes and hard work, and as things come up you adapt to new information.. Changing your direction angst even basic goals to match the circumstances with which you are confronted.
    Aka: clean your room, and aim up but low enough so you know you can win.

  • @easylearning-lattattlara6946
    @easylearning-lattattlara6946 6 років тому +243

    Haha guys you're going at it from the wrong angle.
    The Law of Attraction does work but not as most people imagine or want it to. It is a psychological tool to make yourself pinpoint the direction that you want to go. If someone believes it's the universe talking, then that's not what it really is, that's psychosis. But if you're a sane person you can use it as a consciencous tool, if you are not consciencous about this, you'll just go insane 😂
    It isn't magic or humbug, it's just a simple thing that you can use to get somewhere, see what you need to see to make sure you get to the goal you have set.
    It has nothing to do with ginies, devils or worship.
    Think of it like this.
    You can't ask the "universe" to give you things, it doesn't work. But you can change your perception of the world to be able to see and take advantage of what you see that's in relation to your goals.
    So.. This means that you simply visualize your objectives and goals, learn how to be open about how to obtain it. It requires work from your part, an open mind about that the world has unlimited possibilities to get to a certain point. This is the whole process of The Law of Attraction.
    Also, you have to let go of the desire itself to get to the point where you actually are open enough to see the possibilities, it's not hard, it's a "catch22" situation and requires humility from your part and "surrendering" to a larger extent than most are capable of doing, to let go of wanting it, just flowing towards the target.
    I know most of you won't understand this, but that's OK, that's why you fail, it's a psychological trick you play on yourself, knowingly, and that's how it works. By convincing yourself it really works, then it actually works, like mental health, you can't get well until you believe you can in the depths of your heart. .

    I believe the law of attraction doesn't work for most people simply because they don't know that they can and should control their thoughts and aim their life toward their desires. In my experience the law of attraction definitely works. With that said - we also are not God and need to realize that our ability to create our life beginning in the mind is a gift but we will be held accountable for the life we create.

    The law of attraction doesnt (always) work bc it is based on greed; the assumption that you ARE not enough, that you need something, someone or some experience to feel better about yourself. It all starts with being a kid, when a kid gets a toy.. the kid feels happy.. When the toy is broken, the kid feels broken. Everyone who wants something, thinks they miss something.. and what you are missing.. you will never really touch.I believe that when you enjoy existence, accept things and people as they are, the universe or god or whatever you want to call it, will present the things you enjoy.. The opposite of the law of attraction is the universal law of abundance.. and abundance is everywhere (even when it doesnt seem like it).

      ".I believe that when you enjoy existence, accept things and people as they are, the universe or god or whatever you want to call it, will present the things you enjoy.." This statement IS the Law of Attraction (LOA) at work. Contrary to popular belief, LOA is not asking for something and just getting it. LOA is believing and acting as though you already have it. When you do that you get more of what you believe you already have. If you are a grateful, generous person- you get more to be grateful for and more opportunities to be generous. If you believe you are a victim of something and are angry about that- you get more things perpetrated against you and more things to be angry about. LOA is about lining up your beliefs (these are most of the time unconscience beliefs) with what you want more of without the fear of not having it.

    • @TypeZeroOfficial
      @TypeZeroOfficial 6 років тому +3

      Its not acting as if... You already have everything, because everything already exists :). The only way is to let go of mental labels and thought patterns, even about the smallest things. For example when you look at a tree.. dont see a tree, see the presence of it being there. And to do that, you have to stop thinking about what you are looking at.. and only then you will see the truth.. Its the exact middle point of staring and focus.. Its like a meditative state during your day2day activities, and almost like an ongoing and never ending dejavu moment ;) Everything around you falls into place!! Now thats what i call Abundance.
