Proposed Terminal 2-Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Sri Lanka.

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt) Limited (AASL) is ready to commence the proposed BIA Terminal 2 to create a pleasant travel experience for its valued guests. The new terminal will be able to handle 9 million passengers per annum increasing the passenger handling capacity of BIA to over 15 million. The total floor area to be added to the new terminal will be 185,900 m2. This will bring the floor area in total along with the terminal up to 275,900 m2 and enable airport operations to be carried out in a more passenger-friendly manner. The added facilities, such as new airport lounges, gate lounges, connected multi-mode transport services, etc., would create much more passenger convenience and experience. The passenger check-in counters will be increased to 154 with the addition of 96 new counters. In addition to that, there will be 32 new departure passport control counters, 56 new passport arrival counters, 16 contact gates, 10 bus gates, 6 new airline lounges, 7 new baggage claim carousels, and 7 baggage makeup carousel will be added in the new terminal.
