Just FYI, decaffeinated black tea still has a tiny bit of caffiene in it. It's probably negligible for you, but for people who can't have any caffiene at all, it's useful to know that Decaf just means "less caffiene" not "absolutely no caffiene"
I love these 2 pieces. Button elastic for the inner waistband of the skirt sounds like a good idea. Less faffing about more adjustability. Enjoy the break. Relax if you can.
Your outfits really came together!! I love the embroidery, using the two stitch types for contrast is lovely. And I really like the engineering you put into the skirt waistband!
I love the whole wardrobe. It's the kind of thing I would have worn when I was younger. Now I have bloomed into primary colours. I just made a coat/shirt out of quilt cotton, kite shaped with giant poofy pockets. It is all shades of turquoise with orange coi fish and water lilies. It is for summer dog walking and shopping, to keep the sun of my vampire coloured skin and keep me from freezing in grocery stores. There are advantages to having my youngest being a manager of a fabric store, I get employee discounts, but this was actually my mother's day present.
The skirt itself is really beautiful, but, like the elven hood, doesn't strike me as particularly post-apocalyptic. It gives me more of a "modern Edwardian" vibe. As in, it would look fabulous in a historybounding outfit inspired by the early 20th century. Anyway, I really enjoyed your Soft Apocalypse series and it has given me several inspirations for my own projects. I'm currently working on wide linen pants and you reminded me to a cool waistband closure idea that I saw but had forgotten. And the stiffening band is also a great tip. Thank you. :)
Loving this series! Apocalypse fashion is the fist LARP fashion i ever got into, and it still holds a special place in my heart. For the back of the skirt waistband, i thought that maybe a belt loop or two at the very back (forcing the back portion to fold in, as your interior ties do) for the side ties to slide into would create a bit less fuss when tying. Another thought is creating button holes to weave the ties through to the back folded bit then out again to the back of the skirt would keep them in place.
There are belt loops? They’re just delicate because I didn’t want visual interruption of the ribbon. Or maybe I’m misunderstanding you. I’m generally pretty happy with the skirt as engineered. I’d be interested to see your take on it!
The skirts look great. Your calsule wadrobe for the soft apocalypse is absolutely lovely. I'm working on re-forming a pair of linen overalls into a minidress, for our own mini soft(er) apocalypse (a touch less heat, more wind & a tiny bit more humidity most days. Still, high enough temperature that nobody hoes outside)
I love both of these pieces. The embroidery on the pants makes them very special. I really like the hang of the skirt, as well as the fact that it's upcycled. Would snaps or hooks-and-eyes solve the side adjustability issue? They're easy to move, or put in several right from the start.
No pockets in the skirt; I’m actually pretty used to not having them so I don’t think to put them in my clothes often, and I also didn’t want anything pulling down on the waistband of this design.
"even though summer is half way over"... you so funny! I used to have a pixie cut, more or less, for about two decades. Now that I am a crone I have decided to grow out my hair, just to be contrary. I am now reconsidering my decision. It is medium length now with the goal to grow it long enough for real deal milk maid braids. But I am reconsidering. I do not know if my hair goals will withstand global warming. I do not know how you do it.
@@OpusElenae I mean with things getting hotter everywhere overall, it is sadly not a waste of time to make more summer clothes because summer isn't going anywhere. Not for long anyway. It was the "even though" that was funny not funny. Extreme weather is not extreme any more.

I got sample lengths from another seller first to see if I liked it (which is what I’m using up in this video) and then I bought a bigger roll from Wawak. It was too much to buy sight unseen, but I do recommend it.

Yes that’s why I specified that it was a decaffeinated black instead of saying caffeine free or herbal.

I have loved this whole series! Soft apocalypse/solar punk is such a great aesthetic. Solar punk always makes me feel optimistic for the future too.

Great music selection! Very evocative.
Alternating buttonhole stitch direction! So useful to know
The skirt concept is genius. I'm doing something similar for the petticoat I'm sewing
love them, especially the skirt and its adjustability - never seen it done that way before. Inspiring.
Oh I need that flowy skirt, so I'll work on that as a beginner
Good luck, you can do it ❤

Great work! I love the fancy skirt concept and the embroidery on the pants is perfection. ❤
Love those pants! The pockets look perfect for them.
I really gotta make those pirate pants!
I love all of the pieces and how you can mix and match them. I need all of the patterns.
Well the pants are from Ora Lin!
That looks like a delicious tea blend, always love quali-tea content 😂 and thanks for preserving thru all the difficulties 😅
Thank you! Also love all tea puns :) It's a summer seasonal blend so only available for a few more weeks.

That tea looks delicious. I like hibiscus tea, hot or cold (jamaica).
Loved this little series
I loved this! Ill have to tune in to the other episodes❤
Fabulous. Love them both. Take care.
Thank you Nancy! 🥰🥰🥰
I wish I had time to sew. Those pirate pants fill me with longing. 👀
I will say they’re one of the quickest projects I’ve made in a while, especially with the seam elimination and elastic mods.
I actually really love the skirt - it's a really interesting design.

"Nobody hoes outside" is a very funny sentence. (I know it was a typo, but it still made me laugh.)

I don’t find those solutions to be practical for me; I need something immediately adjustable on small increments that isn’t a sensory issue.
The pants turned out really cool!
Looks so comfy
Love the skirt ,will you add pockets later?❤
Nope, I don’t want pockets in this skirt because I don’t want extra weight hanging on the waist band. Also I don’t like pockets (I know I’m weird)
the embroidery design transfer is genius ! I will use that in the future ! PS where do you get that waistband interfacing ? looks handy !
There’s a link in the description!
If possible, do you know what color/type of brown linen is your pants? I love that color and I usual favor darker colors.
Oh gosh; it’s been my stash for aaaaages. I think I got it as a remnant at an sca event. I’m sorry!
Does the skirt have pockets? Also why am I imaging skirt with embroidered crows? Pirate pants especially with embroidered ginkgo leaves are chef's 💋

I don’t understand how that’s funny? It’s been 90° here since March, and will be until October. So early July makes it… halfway?
