There’s something about this that gives off such a childlike cartoony vibe, similar to that of Mario 64’s actual early development footage. I don’t know how else to describe it but it just makes the games feel completely different. Like it comes from a time long gone.
These mods create an interesting piece of simulacra. While it doesn't look like a saturn game, it ends up being something much more profound. If you suspend your disbelief(ie forget that it's sonic adventure) it really does look and sound like a piece of lost media from the saturn era, yet it's totally impossible for it to have existed. It's sort of like windows 96(musical album) in a sense that it reminds you of something that you don't realize never existed. It also helps that the music actually is from late 90s sega properties and did exist back then.

Yo I JUST came from your sonic in another timeline video, like literally it was the last video I watched. This addressed my major issue, the poly counts, AND so much more. And! And! It's THIRTY MINUTES LONG. My inner child who didn't get that 3d Saturn sonic game went from hurt, to soothed, to healed in 45 minutes. Silly little sonic UA-cam videos can have a big impact :)
@@LowPoly32Hey, this is really cool but I feel like you should make the the flat surfaces RBG instead of polygonal, as well as make some of the areas flat colors instead of textures, and overall just decrease the texture resolution and color palettes, that would make it a LOT more like a real Saturn game, hope my feedback helps! :3
I love that music was used from Sonic 3D Blast Saturn version. That game has some amazing music. And is actually one of my favorite games. Also the music from Sega Rally. That’s awesome!
I knew these had to be mods. The physics being so accurate to the Dreamcast/GameCube/PC game is just too accurate along with sound effects from Gran Turismo. But nonetheless an interesting concept. I always wondered since finding out Sonic Adventure started out as a Saturn game, what it would have been. Not to mention the CRT video tape filter is a really nice touch.

I am in love with this concept and would love to see a team work on bringing this to reality for the Saturn. Probably needs lower frame rate and shorter draw distance and some animations be replaced with 2D sprites, for example the swirling around Sonic during the spin dash would be much more possible using 2D sprites on the Saturn. The rings would probably also benefit from sprite work. This concept is incredible though!
As a kid I had SA2 on the Gamecube, and I always assumed SA1 was a much older game that probably looked something like this. When I eventually saw SA1, I was surprised that it was so simaler to 2

It reminds me of sonic r alot but I think the og emerald coast still works with the classic asthetic there is emerald hill concept art from sonic 2 that looks exactly the same emerald coast and the proto windy valley looks like a good future and the normal windy valley looks like the present version idk if anyone else thinks that
If you think about it that way, maybe if the "Sega Saturn" had lived a little longer, we would still have gotten something like this, and it's actually a bit of a pity that the "Sonic the hedgehog" games on this console didn't even reveal its full potential. What about the video? It's underrated as hell. These are interesting concepts that deserve a like.

I think the saturn would have sold very well just from people wanting to play this game. Heck, I would say that if this game was released, sega would still be making console today. I also think we wouldn't even have a modern sonic if sa1 came out on the saturn possibly.
I love Sonic Adventure, I gotta keep it a buck, this is what Sonic Adventure should've been when it went to Dreamcast (with both the Knuckles & Chaos plot made into a separate Knuckles the Echidna game).
@@misterboogcn1288 It makes perfect sense if you think about it. Sonic Adventure's main campaign isn't written or executed as well as it could've been. Both Sonic's & Knuckles individual stories were basically "Nothing Burgers" without much character development with Knuckles' story being the most disappointing despite him having the closest ties to Chaos. Tails', Amy's, Big's, & Gamma's stories are really good but have so little relevancy to the main campaign. Taking Knuckles , Chaos out & putting them into a separate game simplifies & focuses Sonic Adventure's story while giving Knuckles the chance to shine on his own. In this more focused version of the Sonic Adventure story, Eggman would be the big bad & instead be planing to lead an army of his new E-100 robots (what Gamma is) to take over all of Station Square & remake it into Eggtropolis or something. Everyones story would reletivly remain the same except Big's. One of Eggman's robots kidnaps Froggy to power one of his robots like the other animals & Big goes to rescue him (with actual platforming gameplay instead of just fishing). I do love Sonic Adventure, but this was Sonic's first jump into 3D platforming. The writting needs to be simple when it comes to a character like Sonic. Literally everything else can remain the same without the entire city getting destroyed by a giant water monster, causing thousands of deaths in the process IN A GAME ABOUT A CARTOON HEDGEHOG YOU CAN BASICALLY PUT NEXT TO BUGS BUNNY!

These are all mods for the steam PC port of Sonic Adventure, so as far as I’m aware they only work on PC and not on mobile (although I have no experience in that area) You can play through the whole game with these mods! And Metal Sonic is actually unlockable in the DX port of the game, so he was intended!
Sadly no, this is actually Sonic Adventure DX with a few mods to make it look like a sega saturn game. The draw distance is one thing that will make it not work anyway, and SA1DX Is a 64-bit game while the saturn itself is a 32-bit machine.

Damn. Windy valley had a very interesting level design. One of the first levels that comes to my mind when I think of redesigning sonic.

It’s in the settings of SADX Mod Manager. There’s an option under the game config to force the aspect ratio to 4:3!
