I read a webcomic a few years ago that actually pulled a funny double bluff on this. The mind reader thinks that the guy in question has incredible mental defenses. It's like he has no thoughts at all! His friends think that he's just an idiot who ACTUALLY has no thoughts at all. Except he was actually blocking them deliberately. Dude only had two braincells, but he could rub them together REALLY fast.

While this show was fun, I feel like it undermines the initial tension just cause it wants to try and be funny (and imo it ends up just being annoying after some time). Also, it really feels like the backstory is angst for the reason of being angst alone.

man i loved this anime so much when ive seen it, after i read a short description from the anime i knew i have to watch it. i felt with kotoura because i didnt really had friends in my younger age too, was bullied around 80% of my whole time in school and heck even sometimes some dudes from a group, gang or whatever followed me with the same bus to the bus station where my home was. i just had nobody to talk to about different things like my feelings, how i'm feeling alone even when i was at home where i lived with my mother, two brothers and sister. and i've seen my father only every 2 to 4 weeks for 2 to 3 days and slowly something grew in me because of all this that i slowly just give a fuck on everything. so yeah my childhood was kinda awful and thats why im felt with her because i kinda seen myself a little bit in her i think, thats the reason why i love her character and the anime and have a picture from her on my discord profile to remember the time i watched the anime. uhm yeah, that was now a bit much, deep and privat haha sorry but i guess, yeah i guess i will rewatch it again if possible just because of your video that the algorythm suggested me and i want to see it again and remember :) sorry if its hard to read and a bit much, english is not my native language and i just was typing and typing without thinking in this moment.

Our school-system is build around uniformity and that leads to tragedy often. Aki being traumatized by her school experiences because of her height is the one thing in the show that isn't far fetched.

I loved this anime, it's sweet, beautiful, heartwarming, and it can get very real at times eith the emotion. For me at least lol also I have laughed so damn hard at it when those comedy scenes came up, I had to pause it so I wouldn't miss anymore while laughing.
