🌳Plot :
Haruka Kotoura is a 15-year-old girl who was born with the psychic ability to read minds. As a child she blurts out what people around her are thinking, too young to realize that these thoughts are the person's true feelings which upsets them when they are revealed in public. She is branded a compulsive liar by her teachers, ridiculed by her classmates and loses all of her friends. The strain gets to be too much on her parents as well after she inadvertently exposes that they are both having romantic affairs. Abandoned by her mother into the care of her grandfather Haruka becomes a recluse, distancing herself from everyone, concluding that she only brings people bad luck.
Things start to change when she starts high school and meets Yoshihisa Manabe. He is shown to be unfazed by Haruka's mind-reading ability but also has a perverted imagination. Yoshihisa offers her his friendship and vows to stand by her side regardless of the circumstances. He helps her make new friends and together they form the school's ESP Research Club. Haruka's life begins to change completely for the better which gives her newfound strength she never had. She is eventually able to overcome the teasing she has endured, and face her mother regarding her past. The series concludes with her confessing her love to Yoshihisa with support from her friends.
That was refreshing to see her mother come back at least. Usually in there stories the parents never return and end up dying somewhere

As they should, bad people don't typically deserve happiness or forgiveness. Thats why people say that good people, such as the protagonist, are too good for the world. The MC didn't have a mother, she had an egg donar who chose to walk away due to her inability to show love.

It makes me both happy and sad to see this anime since it’ll never be finished due to the original writer passing away… I’m glad they had the chance for at least some of their story to be put in media form
I feel the anime kind of had a somewhat conclusive ending but that is still sad though. Wish I could see how it could ended.

This was a fun show to watch. Some of the moments were kinda tearjerking, and some moments were genuinely funny.

even though her mother abandon her she feels that she still love her daughter from the ground up just like dave said no ones perfect or special if you got the ability to read a persons mind then its ok just like how her mom was but she got friends that can be there for her no doubt about it

Same here! It was the first anime I ever watched, just randomly popped up for me on youtube many years ago. I vividly remember watching it, because the whole serial killer plot was so unexpected but very fun
Man I remember this anime. It was a really good, I watched it over a few times. I can't believe I forgot about it. Although I'm much more iffy on Grandpa there....regardless this is a good one.
I remember that the big joke/catchphrase surrounding this anime was "twelve seasons of emotion", entirely because that first episode drowns you with feels

it's an interesting premise but the majority of it is just a light hearted comedy. once you get by episode 1. the real drama is basically non existent in comparison.
and her uncle is a good guy, but he is a very disturbing individual when it comes to his Grand Daughter...
Okay, but this couple is so sweet (please don't mention those certain thoughts, because anyone their age would think something like that once unless they weren't attracted to anyone).
Not to mention he has those thoughts half of the time just to tease her, and when she gets genuinely upset, he apologizes and tries to make it up to her

To be fair Anya at her current age was more cunning and clever to control what information she conveys why this MC at Anya’s age kept giving the game away
While this show was fun, I feel like it undermines the initial tension just cause it wants to try and be funny (and imo it ends up just being annoying after some time). Also, it really feels like the backstory is angst for the reason of being angst alone.
I hate the male lead, his whole existence annoy tf outta me.

man i loved this anime so much when ive seen it, after i read a short description from the anime i knew i have to watch it. i felt with kotoura because i didnt really had friends in my younger age too, was bullied around 80% of my whole time in school and heck even sometimes some dudes from a group, gang or whatever followed me with the same bus to the bus station where my home was. i just had nobody to talk to about different things like my feelings, how i'm feeling alone even when i was at home where i lived with my mother, two brothers and sister. and i've seen my father only every 2 to 4 weeks for 2 to 3 days and slowly something grew in me because of all this that i slowly just give a fuck on everything. so yeah my childhood was kinda awful and thats why im felt with her because i kinda seen myself a little bit in her i think, thats the reason why i love her character and the anime and have a picture from her on my discord profile to remember the time i watched the anime.
uhm yeah, that was now a bit much, deep and privat haha sorry but i guess, yeah i guess i will rewatch it again if possible just because of your video that the algorythm suggested me and i want to see it again and remember :)

We Japanese aren't that tall on average. I guess that Aki is of average European height and that would make her stand out. Our school-system is build around uniformity and that leads to tragedy often. Aki being traumatized by her school experiences because of her height is the one thing in the show that isn't far fetched.

I loved this anime, it's sweet, beautiful, heartwarming, and it can get very real at times eith the emotion. For me at least lol also I have laughed so damn hard at it when those comedy scenes came up, I had to pause it so I wouldn't miss anymore while laughing.
