THANK YOU, DR LOCK ... I HAVE THIS TOOL IT SAVES YOU A LOT OF TIME . MY ONLY QUESTION WITH THIS TOOL IS, ONE TIME I WAS TESTING A 2012 I THINK NISSAN NOTE, AND WHEN I TURNED THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION THE LIGHT STAYED ON . AT THE TIME I WAS CALLED IN TO CHECK THIS CAR FOR A NO START IT WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START, NOT SORE AT THIS TIME BUT I THINK I SAW KEY CODES . BUT THE CAR WAS SENT TO THE DEALER SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT BECOME OF IT . THANKS AGAIN FOR TAKING YOUR TIME AND SHOWING US ALL THIS COOL TOOL.

Reprogram the key into it, it could be a bad ECU , then do a full scan, I have seen the same on the elgrand, maybe a solid light is its picking up the transponder but its not matched, Just a thought, a full scan may tell u more

Thank you Dr. I bought one. The light comes on but it's not as bright as yours. I suspect the copper coil in the immobilizer was tampered with when removing the key cylinder. Seen ppl wrap extra copper wire around the immobilizer to amplify the signal. Have you ever come across anything like this before?

I hand these out like candy.
Any time I get asked to look at a key fault at a dealer, auto elechicken, RACV / RACQ etc task, I give the technician one of these.
Handy little toolbox tool, and if you put a branded keytag on it, they'll always have your contact detail.

Hi I have tested my ford fiesta 2011 with one of these. The Car is no start, no crank.
The led just stays lit once ignition is turned.
And also get no key signal detected.
What are the chances it being the transponder ring? How do you test the signal wires with a multi meter ?

Would be great if you demonstrated another way, one like you did... With the proper key and With a blank or unprogrammed key... appreciate the knowledge. I have one on order.

the light can't tell you if the key is programmed or not.

What I'm guessing is if the key is not programmed the light may blink, stop, blink again... while the immobilizer coil continues to search for a properly programmed key. All in all good demostration.
