I haul fuel locally and I get paid by the hour but honestly you can make more money on load pay. There are more incentives on load pay verses hourly pay. When I got load pay if I came in on my day off I got an extra $75 on top of whatever I made that day. I’m hourly now so I’m dropping all products with one hose lol 😂! Great content on your page and stay safe driver!!
I don't blame you a bit and yeah man, I made almost $20k one year just in accessory pay. I worked nights and got an extra 25/night, plus 50/day for working weekends and 75/day for working on a day off. I appreciate the kind words, you stay safe too driver!
I actually prefer hourly now. I may make just a tad less but I’m also not stressed out trying to knock out 5-6 loads a day. Or sitting at the rack when there’s a delay or no allocation and then having to step out to get away from the truck just so you can get on your phone to call dispatch and then wait for the next move. I’m more burnt out trying to rush rush rush for my 5 loads. Also if I have to freaken get work done on the truck you lose time. You can just write up the work that was done but for $20 they can keep it. It’s then stressful just trying to add everything up for work documented. Then they question the work. Also dealing with the slip driver. Maybe having to wait on him. Here we go again having to write down work documented 😂. But I’m now with pilot flying J and making 25.50 an hour. $1420 at 50 hours and $1785 at 60 hours With a 5 day 2 off consistent work schedule. This is also living in the Austin/dfw traffic so it makes sense to do hourly. Anyways hopes this helps some other drivers.
I understand for sure, nothing wrong with hourly. Everyone has their preference and as companies keep increasing their hourly rates it makes hourly that much more appealing
I like hourly. I don’t milk the clock and I do get overtime. I am electronically monitored. So I can be tracked. I still use my ELD and make notations for every move. I am personally responsible for my actions. And can back it through my logs.
You can be efficient without rushing. I’ve worked with a lot of people that drag their feet on purpose. Getting your routine down and sticking to it every time makes it possible to cut your time down without rushing and making a mistake.
Local gas/hrly 10 hr guarantee, if more I get more that includes OT. Paid for everything and encouraged to take my time. Wouldn't wanna work anywhere else. Did 24 yrs otr and this is the easiest money I've ever made. As for not getting OT....did that shit with Ploof way back in the day. Never again.
@@denislubega8019 no experience is $23 hrs $24 at 6 months and $26 after a year. $1 more per hour for 2nd shift. I do 65 hrs a week I'm no killing myself anymore after 15years of Foodservice delivery.
A cross drop is when you put the wrong product into a tank, like if you dump regular into a premium tank or gas into a diesel tank. We do a PM on our trucks every 12,000 miles or 60 days, whichever comes first.
Good Info.... But he kept repeating himself and started to sound like a broken record...BTW Some drivers do get paid O/T we get it after 8 hrs.... But he’s right about hourly drivers milking the clock
I appreciate the feedback and definitely agree I repeated myself too much. We get OT after 40, but yeah not all drivers get that and there are a few bad apples who always seem to get more hours while doing less work.

That's great, it means you have integrity. Sadly there are a lot of people who don't have that these days 😕
14:14 Being efficient is a nice way of saying rushing

I'm hiring on with Kenan Advantage that will be switching to hourly on 6/13
How is it there at kenan? How much is the hourly pay? I plan on hauling fuel for them march 2020

@@denislubega8019 did you get on with Kenan? If so how is it going?
Kenan hates their drivers.
The ltl company he probably referring to is R&L Carriers. We do not get paid for overtime at all. It's just straight pay.
It was Southeast Freight Lines I was referring to, I didn’t know R&L did that too. That sucks.
Good video #TankerLife 💪🏽
Thank you, i appreciate that. #TankerLife 😁
Good information driver
To start is better hourly then after 3 years get pay by load 👍

Colonial Fuel and Lubricants Services Inc out of Savannah, GA
What’s your work and life ratio ?
What do you mean? I work 5 on 2 off, usually average about a 10 hour shift, sometimes more.
