Malcolm was rippin with the top guys a few yrs ago... injuries got him... Barcia's t-bone served up in Utah didn't help. Finesse wins modern races, with some bar to bar wfo sprints... Malcolm's age is perfect. Dowd got that Southwick podium at 47. Tom Brady was competitive in his early 40s. Realistically it's more the mindset than physical for athletes mid 30s - early 40s... Risk vs Reward. Gotta still take the risks. AS for fitness and speed, Malcolm is still one of the best in the business. A fraction here or there in laptimes can be found.
