Nick I'm not making a critique of "softness" more a critique of how most of the time is spent talking instead of doing with full resistance. My own method is a combination of hard & soft, teaching my students with me as uke and at 60 yrs of age which I do taking full ukemi, which I see very few "traditionalists teachers" do these days!!! Most "traditionalists" and their "theories" or "methods" fall apart under real pressure when it really comes down to it. This has been my experience.....
Has he done tanto randori shiai or randori kyogi shiai to? Oh and I mean full resistance as oppose to just toshu randori which is only light practice in my book......
One thing I have noticed about our Geoge is that does an awful lot of talking and very, very little actual do..... Maybe I'm wrong , but my instincts tell me different..... Its all very well doing it "soft" but will it really work under real pressure? I think not.....
Have many a time ..... But I don't think George has,,,,,,, But there you go....... Us Shodothugs know a little different don't we....Lol.... Have a nice day.....
