Gosh! I wish I would’ve watched this video WAY sooner! After my surgery, the only thing I did for the first two weeks was elevate, ice, and heel pumps… Now I’m suffering… Great video!
This is freaking amazing I had knee surgery and it was gnarly I had a complete blow out my meniscus in my ACL but because I’m doing everything correct I’m already able to do all these exercises and bend my knee etc. I’m encouraging everybody to stay on crutches and stay down with ice on your knee first couple weeks but keep pumping that leg and knee.
Dr.brotzman did surgery on my right knee bc of a meniscus tear a year ago and it fully recovered and i feel as good as i was before the injury i really do suggest you follow everything the video says ! Thank you sir your the best
Thank you for this, just what I was looking for. I was wondering why my knee hurt so much after just pottering around house, looks as if I need 2 crutches not one 😊 Im irritating the surgical site.
Have a question I just had surgery two weeks ago second surgery on my right knee and I’ve had surgery on my left knee and I’m thinking of doing PRP on my left knee and having them inject some of it into my right knee post surgery is that something you would suggest?
I broke my femur and hip, the break affected my knee, I was in a hospital bed for 3 days, no one told me my muscle would atrophy and my knee would become stiff...8 months later and lots of rehab, still struggling
i wasn’t told any of this after surgery and i’m having a hard time straightening my leg fully after my lateral meniscus repair, any advice?? i haven’t been told a single thing besides take pain meds
@ well i’m able to walk now, honestly my advice is to make sure you get up a few times a day to the bathroom and stuff to strengthen the knee, but it’s a bit weak and hurts occasionally but walking will strengthen it over time i can also straighten and bend the leg fully now so that’s good
@@rin_morts I still can't straighten, nor can I bend my leg fully. It has improved greatly, but I am still having pain, my partial meniscectomy was on October 30th 2024.
I'm having a partial medial meniscectomy in 2 1/2 mos. My ortho says we have to wait 3 mos after my cortisone shot. Such a painful injury, also have a Baker's cyst, knee contusion, tissue edema & loose bodies. I had all the other conservative measures first and no pain relief. In fact I had a intense 3 hr stabbing pain episode, awful! I'm also having mechanical episodes which are painful. I know some ppl get no relief and some do. Of course I am hoping for the best. I have been doing exercises for 2 mos and will keep doing them until surgery. Afterwards I will get different ones to do. Do you give antibiotics routinely? I have had MRSA sepsis yrs ago, so I need to be careful. My ortho says I will get antibiotics in my IV. Good advice, enjoyed the video. Thks!
Yes, make sure to remind him the day of an anesthesiologist, and they will certainly give you the appropriate antibiotics with history of previous infection. Good luck to you And Godspeed!
@@brotzmansportsmedicine2277 Thank you, I had surgery 16 days ago. Had my stitches out 2 days ago. Still hurts. The meniscus tear was right next to the root, a radial tear. I had 50% removed. I have started PT. It's been 7 mos. since my injury and it's been a rough road.
Good refresher of info. I was given all this info at the hospital but was so stressed before and hazy afterwards none of it went in lol. How long do you advise to use crutches for after arthroscopy? I had a ganglion cyst removed, meniscus tear repair, and arthritis scrape/clean up. It's been 10 days and I'm feeling like I can walk without but don't want to do any unnecessary damage.
Best post op video I've seen yet. I've viewed 45. Very VERY informative.
Very kind thanks speedy recovery

Two crutches will help and take the inflammatory response down a couple of levels

Sorry they didn’t emphasize the things to do to prevent the atrophy and loss of motion. Sounds like you’re on it now. Wishing you a speedy recovery
😊 thanks for this great info!
Great info, thank you. Also the patient is extremely good looking.

@@rin_morts Also, how long after surgery did it take you to regain full flex, if you don't mind me asking.
@ hmmm maybe like a week? week and a bit, it honestly done it on its own while it healed
