Took longer than I thought it would but I made a big step towards getting the Camaro ready for the track. Here's an overview of how the install of Caltracs went!
Glad i found this channel. Ive got a 1980. Plan on doing this as well. How much have you changed the preload? Im probably going to do adjustable shocks front and rear to help with 60 foot times as well.
Appreciate the comment! Wrapping up the SFC install now. I've got a few smaller items to take care of but the next big money items are shocks and wheels/tires. Shooting for track time late this year! Thank you again!
Between Caltracs and the MT Street SS, I knocked ~.5 second off the 60' times. Probably some left on the table, just haven't had much time to go test much at all.
@@dalesmall4026 I don't have experience with that type of bar but Caltracs or similar designs have been proven for a long time. The issue I've seen with "slapper bars" is most make contact with the leaf spring behind the front eye. With enough power and traction, I believe you could start to bend the leaf spring in that area. The adjustability of Caltracs or similar setups is much better than the slapper style bars as well. I would buy these 10x over just for the fact I know they've been proven to work for years.
Thank you for this video. SOOO helpful. I'm also installing the Calvert Racing leaf springs.

Great job , The sub-frame connectors are a must for the f-bodys I also like the rear disc brake conversion . 👍

Thanks man I appreciate it
How are these working for you? Would you buy these again over say competition engineering slapper bars with the J Bolt?
So how well does car hook up now

Where does the shocks hook too since not using the original shock plate?
The plates included with the Caltracs retain the factory style mount so there's no change or modifications needed.
Thank you, also are they working well for you? Would you buy these again verses say competition engineering slapper bar with the j bolt?
