    I’m 25 and just got diagnosed yesterday with Graves. I have an appointment to see the endocrinologist in about two weeks. I’m really praying God heals me and mine will also go into remission.

    Can you tell me where your levels was at when they said you didn’t need medicine anymore?

    To be extremely honest it's very possible that you never had graves disease but rather thryroditis which is a temporary state from stress or some inflammatory factor and it would have resolved naturally after a bit of methinazole

    Thank you so much Lena for sharing your story. I just learned that my hyperthyroidism returned after going off of meds for a couple of months. I guess it was only a medically induced remission. :( I'm kinda down about it. I'm a believer too...but I need more faith. Say a prayer for me please. Thanks. Andrea

    Thank you for sharing your story. I remember it was my last semester of my junior year and I went to my primary care doctor and she ran blood work and her and everybody else was so scared because my blood work was out of whack. He sent me to a endocrinologist and this man and his assistant tries to force me to either do radioactive iodine treatment or a thyroidectomy and I was only 22 years old. I have the spirit of discernment that God gave all of us and I said absolutely not this is not what I want for myself. I immediately stopped seeing him and I was spying for about another year because I was diagnosed in 2021. Mind you in 2019 I was actually diagnosed with hypothyroidism but I didn't have any symptoms I was just fine. Fast-forward to 2022 my first semester of my senior year I had a mini thyroid storm and I was not feeling good. I had to call my sister to be down here with me and I was sick for about 2 weeks straight. I went to the emergency room and he said you have hyperthyroidism and gave me medication. I've been taking the medication for about going on two months now. I have definitely decided that I'm not going to do the options the endocrinologist gave me. I am going to put my faith in God and I already believe the stressors in my life. I'm focused on eating healthy which I never did prior to being diagnosed. Also I did not take anything seriously before I thought I was invincible. I know for a fact and I'm anemic so now I'm taking iron medication. I also know that when I eat I need to sit up and not lay down. I'm eating healthy now and getting a lot of sleep. I don't have heart racing problems or hand shaking. But everybody symptoms is different which is very correct. But you really motivated me because I've decided that I'm going to stick to taking methimazole 4 a year Lord willing less than that. I'm really reading up about my condition and doing everything I can to get this into remission. It's not only about me getting it into remission it's about me remaining healthy after that and not going back to my old habits. I'm seeing a new endocrinologist in June and I already know that when I walk in there I'm letting him know I'm not doing the options y'all give me I just want you to check and monitor my blood work and keep me on my same medication.

      Hey Lace! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us! We’re praying and believing for your healing! I’m so happy that my testimony is able to encourage your faith. I’m learning to take care of myself more and more each day as well. Our bodies are temporary and are also temples 💗 and I’m learning that no one on earth cares for our bodies the way that we do and God cares for us even more.

    Did you change your diet or take any specific supplements to help you reach remission?

    • @edlena1759
      @edlena1759  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Lance! Yes I cut out iodized salt, caffeine, and cut back on dairy, processed meats and processed sugars.
      I’m a tea drinker, so I specifically stayed away from black teas and green teas during that time.
      I started drinking caffeine free herbal teas as well

      @@edlena1759 That sounds like AIP diet, was that what you were doing? It's what I'm doing now.

    • @edlena1759
      @edlena1759  3 роки тому +4

      I'm not sure if it was AIP, but I know there was a list of foods that I was instructed to stay away from and to consume. There was a diet plan for managing graves disease that was presented to me while I was in the hospital.
