- In this video, we remain local to home and show you around the Great Yarmouth CAMC site where we paid £31.90 per night. There are 101 grass touring pitches with EHU and 7 camping pitches here.
We take you on a night time tour of Great Yarmouth's golden mile as well as a look around the site itself.
We were shocked to see the condition of the caravan ahead of us upon arrival which had been involved in some kind of collision and the owners were not even aware!
In this video we are also giving you the chance to win a Caravantastic bag.
We will take all names with the correct answer by Midnight on 25th September and do the draw and announce the winner in next Thursday's vlog :o)

Great update video, always fancied coming over Great Yarmouth way on our travels. That poor couple and their caravan, my god I’d be gutted, caravan insurance is an essential!! The Willows is the campsite and will be staying there next year as to see all those planes will be amazing. Thanks Tris 😀😀

Nice to hear you're doing some work Dave ;)) Stayed on that site a few times quite a long time ago. Facilities look a little better than they were. Not my favourite site but do like the horses (the fast ones). Felt gutted for the owner of that caravan. Enjoy your time;))

Hi Helen and Dave glad you are still out enjoying your time in the van .We've got another 2 trips booked next weekend to Haw Wood Farm in Dunwich with our son who's also got a camper ,13th and 14th October of to Dan's Meadows with friends who have a caravan .As our motorhome is 31years old the heating is not brilliant but we have a Kampa Diddy fan heater which keeps us toasty,it's just first thing in the morning we feel it ,we've told ourselves we must man up this year and get out there 😂.Look forward to your video Sunday .The Willows is the campsite.Have a good week Maz and Stu and Dave keep up the hard work 😊xx

Wishing your hands a swift recovery from your blisters Dave! We can sympathise as we’re having a kitchen extension and have been mucking in with the work from time to time. Manual labour doesn’t suit us much either, but good on you for getting involved.

Great video, as usual. We haven’t done the Yarmouth site, but might give it a try. Looking forward to seeing the “discussion” about the pegs! We think that the site you visit to watch the planes is The Willows, at Mildenhall. We live in Suffolk, just outside of Ipswich..and Norfolk is one of our favourite places to visit. Just spent a few days at East Runton, so might see you out and about on your travels. Take care and keep up the brilliant work. 👍🏻😬

Hi there Dave & Helen, First of all congrats on 7k subs 🥳. The last time we went to Great Yarmouth was in Sept 1997. (Deserted due to Diana’s funeral). Gail remembers shops being open in the evening and buying a handbag. We saw the miniature village lit up at night too. Happy memories. Loved the Northern Lights picture, shame you missed it and also a shame for the people with the caravan damage. Hope the work on the drive is running smoothly. Hi Rob & Gail, I suspect it hasn’t changed that much since 1997 😂. We visited the model village last year for the first time. Dreading next weeks concreting but needs must and all that. Love your vlogs , We were in Norfolk in May and we were in a collision with a haulage lorry , still not repaired , we are gutted we’ve lost the summer ,
Parts won’t arrive until end October , will be new year before we’re are back , Only our 6th time out in the Camino , your keeping us going

Another area with all the amenities and more. I am always surprised there does not seem to be much ruffness or loud teens or young 20+ pushing about. Is the UK really that orderly so trouble is at bay? If so Great....your campsites and visitor spots are always clean and free of troublemakers another great video TY ❤❤
Hello again Virginia, I don't think caravan sites are generally too appealing to young people over here. They would prefer to camp out at music festivals perhaps but our thing does tend to appeal to the more mature members of society, most of whom (not all) are pretty civilised. Another wonderful vlog, sorry to hear the start of your trip wasn't great with wardens.
This vlog has taken us back about 16 years when we stayed with our first van a compass corona 475 😊, we made the mistake of pitching by the play area as our daughter was very young lesson learnt 😅.
Feel for the people with the damaged van 😢.
Could we pls ask how you attached the bunting at the front of your van as we have some to put up.

Hi Paul & Joanne, you’re in the draw 👍 Great Yarmouth CAMC isn’t our favourite site, we’ve had issues with wardens there on more than one occasion but the location is very convenient. The bunting has been in place now for 5 years with blu tac and it’s never moved 👍😂. I have some hand cream to keep them smooth 😂😂 ATB, Dave & Helen

Having just done s similar thing I felt really sorry for the couple with the damaged van, I clipped the wing mirror on a motor caravan with the rear of my 5 month old caravan.
£4000 worth of damage,

Used that site several times when we were house hunting in the area, but always disappointed how uneven the ground is I appreciate it's sandy soil. (The willow's campsite)

The Suffolk RAF campsite veiwing thingy 🤔 .... Those hands need a bit of fairy liquid lol ... The pitches did look rough, tbh I expected them to be good given its a racecourse .... Looking forward to your CMC general review, must be honest in the last two or three years some CMC wardens attitude has been horrendous and we're a chilled out, relaxed couple 😟 ... Didn't realised Great Yarmouth was so big 🤔 .... Ta for the review 👍

@@HelenandDave Great thanks 👍 😉... My personal opinion is that a few years back wardens were retired or semi retired and into the lifestyle. Nowadays wardens at CMC seem to be a lot younger, it seems to be their main job and probably with pressures from the club now it's more of a commercial run venture than a members one. Pricing is crazy, we're looking at Brixham for 7 nights in two weeks coming in at £280 off peak. We were in Looe CMC last week and we've never seen so many empty pitches.

Hi D & H, you're not the first to have a run in with staff at a CCCS, I had one a few years back at Oldbury site, being disabled and needing the toilet, I saw the toilet open, I used the facility, and on leaving the grumpy warden, had a right go, stating "you aren't disabled, because you don't have a key, I stated I hadn't unlocked it, but that not having a key doesn't mean I'm not actually disabled" that was the last time I had membership once it ran out,

It seems to be a thing for camc members not to arrive early I have been admonished several times for it and not always in a nice way. Looe Cornwall comes to mind and a few others 😕
I think it can be challenging to get the timing just right for arrivals, especially when travelling distance, it can also be dangerous when caravans and motorhomes are queuing outside on the roads and causing traffic chaos!.
