This was my very first as well! My dad had 8, but i never really played that until later in life. And now, because of ff14, they have a lot of the lore coming back, even if its a little different.
I really like the Early Final Fantasies they just seem so simple and for lack of better worlds magical. It was easy for them to capture the imagination
the looks, music, scenes everything is perfection and i will never forget how it felt starting the game the first time and seeing the double-screen movie as a kid
As an 8 year old this game was so different from the usual pokemon I would play, and it was so captivating. I just remember watching this intro over and over again because I had never seen something like this. I never really got anywhere in this game, but I will always treasure it as one of the few games I truly liked.
I would, but they would need to alter the main characters heavily. All of them had no character in the original game and next to none in the remake, but seeing them fleshed out like they are in the trailer would make this game great.
I hope there will be a FF all star that include all nes-ps1 era FF they're all deserved a remake at least we got FF7 wich is the most iconic rpg game ever,my first FF too
They're doing a lot of the lore from ff3, and putting it into FF14. Its super interesting. Going further into some of it come the Shadowbringers expansion in a few days. :D
The nostalgia is real and this opening is more mesmerizing than I remembered I'd re-live my moments with this game if I could I remember one time when I beat medusa (which 8 year old me thought was pretty difficult to beat at the time) I called my dad while he was working to tell him lol Good old days 😁
Dialogue isn’t what makes a game great. It’s it’s environment, sense of adventure, gameplay, characters, plot, emotion, and story. Even though you say there is barely any dialogue go talk to npcs or villagers they each have there own unique things to say to expand on the story and it’s plot. And when you think about this game has one of the best written stories in the final fantasy franchise.
Simply some of the most beautifully-composed music in videogame history. The arrangements and harmonic content are staggering. When I first got this, I watched the intro over and over, just to hear this music.
I love this intro. I've been beating the games in order, and seeing this intro after beating FFII makes a world of a difference after experiencing that dark and depressing ending from FFII. You can't help but get a sense of adventure, magic and destiny when watching this, and that sense is what defines Final Fantasy IMO.
This game's intro and ending make me cry everytime I see it. Beautiful lovely stellar. To the part when he turns the wheel, to the part when they wave goodbye in the ending screen.
This gives me so much memories and emotions, this was my very first final fantasy game and one of my favorites (as it's my first) FF3 holds a special place in my heart
I had chills the entire time I watched this video. No matter how many Final Fantasy games I go through, I'm still convinced this is one of the best animations I've ever seen. For the DS.
This was my first Final Fantasy. First that i played, first that i beaten. Thought i played NDS version, but beaten NES version. This opening is what DEFINES Final Fantasy for me. Same feelings i felt when i played Final Fantasy XIII... pure fairytale!
+Кейли Тамирианская As much as I love FFIII and agree that this game sets a standard for what a fantasy-setting (To explain: Final Fantasies 1-6, 9, 11, 12, 14. Unsure of 10 since I haven't played it) Final Fantasy should attain and want to be, I think people criticize XIII for going in a different direction a bit too much. True, the game imho doesn't stand up to the likes of III, IV, VI, VII, and IX, but if I remember correctly XIII's development had a younger team that wanted to take the series in a new direction-one with a modern approach and feel, yet retained one or two fantastical qualities (Each character's summon, for example, though those are series staples so idk). Make no mistake I'm not defending XIII, just curious about why they changed FF with XIII.
Nobuo Uematsu is a genius. Particularly when I listen from 1:55 until the end. Breath~taking. Hands down, this is some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard in a virtual game, of any kind! Years back, I bought my nephew a FF game for his Nintendo DS LIte. I remember the music in this game being quite literally of Academy and Grammy award winning caliber.. ~Thank you, Saissaeil for posting this.
I never played any of the final fantasy games. But when I got my DS for Christmas. My mom got me this game. THANKS MOM! You introduced me to final fantasy by giving me ONE THE HARDEST GAMES in the series. Well it was good. I still couldn't beat it though.
Never played anything Final Fantasy before, but found this game for $15 at Target the other day so I grabbed it. Don't know if the deal was for just my store/state or what, but if you can find it, grab it. It's amazing. I'm not that far into the game yet and I love it. If any newcomer like me is considering trying it out, I can't recommend it enough. You will love it. And everyone's so PRETTY, omg.
FFIII isnt the most difficult Final fantasy. FFII the original on the famicom is way, way harder than the third one. But simply because the leveling system was total crap and made you freaking weak the whole game. But that said, FFIII is not the most difficult Final Fantasy game
Not a hard game by any means, just a grindy one. You can spend about 2 hours grinding out Job lv 99 for Thief right at the start, and then the entire game becomes easymode. Not to mention how OP Warrior is early game if done right.
It's a terrible shame that Square Enix would rather do a remaster of the original version and let this masterpiece of a remake sit in a flaming landfill. RIP Luneth, Arc, Refia and Ingus.
Cannot believe this game came out 10 years ago... I'm STILL grinding away at a thief so I can pick gungnir off of Odin so I can clean sweep Odin, Bahamut, and Leviathan before pressing on to fight Xande. This was the first Final Fantasy I've owned, so I better get on it fast.
True, I liked the fact you could travel around the world and pick whichever classes you wanted, and how there were crystals and all that, now it's just guns, machines, etc. /: it's not that bad but the older ones were much more adventurous
Spike the Ferret It's the strongest class in the game. Can do anything that any of the other job classes can do. Especially nice at level 100 or 99 whatever the cap was.

Yep, mine too. Really takes me back
Interesting why so many like this game.. But oh well. But if people get joy out of it, then thats good though
Damnnnn real and true, super nostalgic watching this :')
You do not even know what you should be seeing unless you play this on the DS. The two screens make this intro come to life like magic.
I really like the Early Final Fantasies they just seem so simple and for lack of better worlds magical. It was easy for them to capture the imagination
Agreed the early final fantasy you could see the magic in it but now there starting to lose that magic
danny blake Now? The magic's been lost since X-2.
Well not to me it left after 11
Nah, the magic's still there for me. Except for X-2. We never speak of that.
Brandon Whittaker 'cough' FF12 'cough'

I'll always be in love with this. whew.

This opening is one of the best openings ever made.
I get goosebumps from the music.
I'd never skip this cutscene as a kid. man the memories and adventure. never figured out how to beat it.
Back when Final Fantasy was so innocent and simple ~ good times.
Michrili Productions What's wrong with a FF being rated teen? That has nothing to do with game ebing "innocent and simple" or not.
*seriphoth fucking comes in with violent chrous in background
Definitely a time stamp in how simple game design was
Back when final fantasy still has "fantasy" element in it
Dependung on your context. Plot? FFI is basically mini Kingdom Inception Hearts
I can't stop listening to this, and I don't imagine I ever will
Thumbs if anyone would play a next-gen remake with this style of graphics.
+Jimmy Billington I hope FF16 goes back to still kind of setting.
I would, but they would need to alter the main characters heavily. All of them had no character in the original game and next to none in the remake, but seeing them fleshed out like they are in the trailer would make this game great.

Even after so long, I still tear up throughout this song.
Am I the only one who thinks this game seems underrated? I never hear people mention FF3.
Probably because it's garbage. A good intro doesn't make a good game. This game barely has any dialogue.

I remember this on commercials when I was still in highschool :)
this song has made me want to cry since i first played the game. absolutely beautiful
This is honestly one of the best openings to an RPG. Beautiful song, and like you would expect from Square Enix, beautiful CG.
Hello again childhood :,)

I remember this intro when I was 10 years old while I’m playing DS in 2008
My journey staryed here, then nds 4 , ccf7, ff13 and then playing all from 1
