1:32:37 DigiTONE is such a wonderful synth that imo doesn’t get enough ❤. Very hard to choose between the 2. I couldn’t seperate. They’re inseparable and beautiful together.
Seriously the best advice regarding whether or not to finish a track: "They're either done, or I'm done with them". This is exactly what I needed to hear, as a person who constantly guilts themselves over not finishing the million tracks that I start.
1:13:47 oh shit... I think I finally understand the LFO SPD+MULT now... the number of the SPD is the note value of the rate and not just some arbitrary value! 16 means a full cycle takes 16 steps at the BPM, 8 takes 8, etc... and then multiply by the multiplier to make things faster! AHHHH THE CODE IS CRACKED!
Thanks so much for the Syntakt Ambient tips! Some notes I took to share out. * Chord Engine (FM/Wave table synth engine) * LFO on balance and * LFO on wave table * Reverb maxed out * Utility noise function-Whoosh sounds, ping pong delay, low pass filter * Arppegiator: 2x scale so moving quickly * SY Bits engine for plucks, shot envelopes, slow LFO * Arp 2: Pan each step left, next step right * Toy Engine, Chord, delay, physical modeling engine, probability, random chance * Dual VCO- F FM R Ring Modulation, LFO on Oscillator
I put this on as basically a podcast while working and it was great, lots of very good tips, now I can't wait to get off work and try them out on my ST 🙌
Always love you videos. I too am a 38 year old dude that “tried to make it” as a drummer guitarist. Now I’m just doing everything I do to learn and have a great time. Hopefully get the guts to release tracks soon! I didn’t even realize you could use an lfo to slowly move through the chord inversions which is super intriguing. I love elektron! I just got the syntakt and have only used it a couple hours so far. I prefer it to the digitakt just because I don’t like using samples in my workflow at all. I find myself browsing them forever and losing inspiration
my biggest hesitation is a lack of internal sidechain/compressors… if u have overbridge - can u try experimenting if it’s possible to add compressor on each track in DAW via USB streaming? i would be so thankful 🥹
@EZBOT One reason not to go 2X Syntakt: doubling analog lines with FM! You get CRAZY beefiness that you can never achieve with analog alone or digital alone!
1:37:00 there are maximum 2048 Midi patterns because 16 Banks each with 16 Pattern each with 8 Tracks makes 2048 different patches. Rather sadly switching Part's does not change the pattern, but changes the midi parameters including its channel for each written patch.
Hi from Corsica .... very useful and instructive video again. As i heard you may be plan to enter deeply in a syntakt ambiant tips video, why not using this amazing track. Think you could may be put it on your patreon and give us the possibility to make a kind of "anatomy track lesson". The way you put some trigs on it, the design of sounds, give us more chance to understand basics .... just an idea .... Anyway see ya and thanks again for being there on this channel
Totally just my subjective opinion but I'd prob do some more modulation on the vocal sample if it's going to be out front. Just to avoid repetitiveness. Great stuff EZ!
Hello, I looked up you on Soundcloud and I yes liked your music. Today Im in a bit of hurry so your Video is to slow for me too much dead meat in the beginning:), but I will check in another day. And the link to midi toolbox showed they wasn’t up to sell it. To bad, but at least I got an idea ,how what and maybe some day why I def need it. Thanks and Cheers!👍
I am really enjoying my ST a lot. I am super disappointed that the modifiers can't be used while the sequencer is running, since I am so used to the scenes workflow on the rytm and ot. i'm also a bit underwhelmed with the engines if im being honest. it's my first takt/digi box though, so i am having a lot of fun learning the new workflows and performance techniques.
great to see you use the ducking for a few tracks! awesome, but that also means that you can't use the analog drive on 4 other tracks right? only on the same ones?
Around the 16 minute mark, you mentioned a person whose tutorials you like (chank?) and I can’t find them because I don’t think I heard you right. What is their name? Thank you and I love what you do with your Elektron gear!
Great! understand you miss samples, but the octatrack can do samples right? not enough tracks on octatrack (and thats why you said you'll add digitakt again?)
Can someone explain the logic behind the LFO "spd" numbers? How formula do I need to use to figure out how to use the spd and multiplier parameters to make, e.g. a dotted eight or half note triplet speed LFO?
Hey i have the same keychron, have you had any issue with bluetooth connectivity?. mine stoped working after justa few weeks, and have to use cable now x.x. Anyhow. nice look at the syntakt, might buy one. :)
Hi EZBOT, how do you manage samples on your OT? Do you save them in the project or the audio pool? In case of the latter, do you clear the clutter after each session? The root folder of my audio pool is just a mess ...
@@EZBOT_ Yeah, will probably do that. I wish Elektron would give you an option to switch to a different folder when saving samples. That would be the biggest quality of life improvement imho
Wait... aren't you supposed to have a giant mic on a giant boom that covers half your face, gets in the way, and looks bigger than your head? But seriously...the masking tape on your Elektrons is triggering my OCD. Please get some white paper artist tape.

So great - thanks so much for all the work you do to make these vids happen - I know it's a ton of work. Much appreciated.
Thanks, Matthew. I really enjoyed this Elektron talk and learned a lot. Cheers.
using microtiming to shift a step and the 1:2 / 2:1 is genius, I love the 'every nth' option but was struggling with only having one step available.

just found your channel and really love this format ezbot!
Doing it tonight at 7!
@@EZBOT_ nice!🔥🔥🔥
I'd like a plastic strip you can velcro on to the bottom edge of the Octa to label the buttons. Maybe something under 2 inches wide.
you look and sound fabulous
More of this combo pls

interal side-chain compressor would be a gamechanger

Thanks for the video. Tons of good tips. But pity the music volume was too low (people kept saying that in the live comments)
Yeah, I somehow missed that
sold my monologue regret it it IS so great
great to see you use the ducking for a few tracks! awesome, but that also means that you can't use the analog drive on 4 other tracks right? only on the same ones?
Yeah you need to choose wisely
28:17 STEP EDIT: can you explain how i get to this setup. it's exactly what i am looking for.
Hit record and stop.
Around the 16 minute mark, you mentioned a person whose tutorials you like (chank?) and I can’t find them because I don’t think I heard you right. What is their name? Thank you and I love what you do with your Elektron gear!
Cenk and Max Marco were go to’s for me back in the day
Great! understand you miss samples, but the octatrack can do samples right? not enough tracks on octatrack (and thats why you said you'll add digitakt again?)
At 24:xx you flip the pattern, I know the ST flipped pattern, but did the OT stay in same pattern or also do a pattern change?
So I have the version 1 of Octatrack...other than layout on the machine will there be any limitation if I get the Syntakt??
... Also, there's no way they don't add the 2-octave scale mode to Digis, right???
I am pretty sure they will!
Can someone explain the logic behind the LFO "spd" numbers? How formula do I need to use to figure out how to use the spd and multiplier parameters to make, e.g. a dotted eight or half note triplet speed LFO?
I think that’s in the appendix of the manual, I’d have to check
@@EZBOT_ didn't see it in the digitakt or syntakt manuals
When is your new OT template finished? I'm asking for 68% of my OT friends 😅
End of the month :)

Mine works pretty well, it did have issues but I bought a nice Bluetooth adapter and that fixed it
Hi EZBOT, how do you manage samples on your OT? Do you save them in the project or the audio pool? In case of the latter, do you clear the clutter after each session? The root folder of my audio pool is just a mess ...
I have my OT setup to save samples in my project directory instead of the audio pool. Find this setting in the personalize menu
@@EZBOT_ Yeah, will probably do that. I wish Elektron would give you an option to switch to a different folder when saving samples. That would be the biggest quality of life improvement imho
Do you think the syntakt, octatrack, and Rytm would be combo that makes sense?
Absolutely, sounds great to me
How do you spell chank… the guy that used to work at Elektron. Does he also do videos on UA-cam?
Cenk/Dataline
so stoked re: this thing i can’t stand it
Do you use the OT maenly as a mixer device?
Most of the time yes. I do have a second OT which I use mainly to sample my eurorack
@@EZBOT_ I use the OT as my maine Hub.
Question, how do you reverse the permanent recorded track 8 master outpost sample by the B scene?
9:00 to skip the setup
I felt so ashamed (and confused) that I never subscribed, yet I watch your videos all the time. Hmmm
