As regular visitors to the area for over half a century, we've seen many changes and this is the best ever. Long overdue, but now that it's finished, well done to all involved, you've done a great job of enhancing Shore Street.
Came up from Teesside recently, as i do regularly to the Highlands and saw the development then. A well thought out and worthwhile improvement for both visitors, businesses and residents alike. Well done !
Local democracy at its best 👏👏👏👏. A great development for a lovely town, meets local needs as well as supporting tourism. Scotland just does things better for its people 😊
Fantastic! To my mind, the changes are in keeping with the "feel" of the town and improve accessibility for all, locals and visitors alike. Looking fwd to seeing it for real in 2024. Thanks for making this video and your many other videos that showcase Ullapool and surrounding areas.
The development looks to be a big asset to the town. It looks good and is very functional. Looking at what was there before it was not visually very attractive and getting rid of it was no loss.
well done to all ,we visit Ullapool a few times each summer ,we are now looking forward to seeing the new harbour development first hand . cheers Colin
Hi thanks for your comment and opinion. The time-lapse only shows the project from one angle, I would recommend you watch my other videos of the project to give you more insight. The inshore quay im sure will see future development given time. ua-cam.com/video/cyD9WBKTMzM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/JUyoXwKrWN8/v-deo.html
Given the relatively small size of development area, the priority has to lie with getting as many people to enjoy the front as possible. If this was a bigger space then yes, room would be given to some larger plants/trees/features etc. As things are, you can't, for example, have mum's pushing prams around obstacles. Space is relatively tight. Of course, do also understand that you're only seeing a snapshot, and a first one at that - some cosmetics are possible. Everyone involved has done an incredible job here. Remember how it was before?

There has never been much greenery at the shore side of Ullapool it can be extremely harsh weather. ua-cam.com/video/cyD9WBKTMzM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/JUyoXwKrWN8/v-deo.html
Not sure what kind of greenery you could implement in such a short space. The only greenery that was there before was seaweed. And that has been the scene since I was first up there over 50+ years ago😉 I'm up there this year again any changes I'll let you know😊
Hi thanks for your comment. I believe it was around 10 million with the harbour paying for 75% of its work then with 25% funding from HIE. @@stevengourlay4503 Thanks Steve. I have copied your videos to FB Millport Photos and Millport photos and videos past memories. I thought they would be of much interest as there is a flood defense programme underway at a cost of 46 million I think. I particularly like the marina added to your project and I think this would be a fantastic addition to the one at Millport but I don't think it will be incorporated at Millport or maybe suggested for a second phase if ever that happens. Anyway, hopefully the powers that be will see yours and the benefits of the investment. Thanks

10 million well spent
Looks good. Hopefully Ullapool will be able to keep vehicles off the new areas. Video shows vans already using the cycle lane as extra parking spaces.
The van on the lane was before the official opening and working on the lighting.
And so they should a cycle way in Ullapool fir that short strip ridiculous
Congratulations. Not single tree or piece of green. Lovely concrete and tamarmac throughout.

Used to go there in the summer brilliant wee place now it’s swamped with people in summer
Just after Covid was mental, it has calmed down a fair bit now.
And you weren't one of them ?
I look forward to seeing this development in the New Year. Looks good, though.
Thanks.
Yet no greenery added.

How long was the cycle pathway
Hi John the cycle path id say is approx 300 meters and runs the length of shore street.
@@stevengourlay4503 utter waste of money that could have been spent on something useful
