Those saucer underside and secondary hull windows are WAY off. And the seams are unfortunately visible for that price. Quality control seems to be an issue once again.
I give Eaglemoss an A+ for sculpt and a C- for paint for the entire line.
I keep waiting for farther ted and Jack to join the review 😂
Decal on the port Nacelle is upside down - for that money that is not okay. :/
Kai Peters That's my biggest gripe, the nacelle decal. Eaglemoss had plenty of advance notice that it was wrong, it was the first thing fans spotted on the preview photo and still we got the same mistake.

I was hoping someone else caught that.
Forrest Penrod the pennant, (the red stripe), at the front the angle is reversed.
They're all like that, even on the box.
I just received my large 1701 and it is awesome! I got it for $60 USD with a 20% discount and it was well worth it! These large size ships will be much better for me than building similar sized kit models. These came out just in time, as new DST ST offerings are becoming less frequent.
I look forward to seeing the Supersized Enterprise D and Defiant. I wonder if Eaglemoss would consider making a supersized version of Zefram Cochrane's Phoenix? That would look nice on my desk.
Shame that they didn't have the budget back then for the extra details then, like aztecing etc
They forgot [in the booklet] Robert April, who's listed in the very first 'Making of...' book by Roddenberry and ghost writer Stephen Whitfield, on each draft script and before the name changed from Yorktown to Enterprise.
yup Decal is upside down on nacelles and the seams are very thick! and for the Scale the did not really add much detail!!
I went the route of purchasing the polar arts space seed edition model kit, it offers all three versions as an option to build the one you like, outside of the 1/350 it is the most accurate 1/1000 at near 12 inches. Waiting on delivery, now deciding on options of lighting it.
awww man, I was hoping you would compare this ship with the regular sized Botany Bay. Wanted to see if they were actually to scale. Oh well
True, the paint / decal errors are not great. That said, the Eaglemoss TOS ship paint color is the best match yet to how I remember the original 1701. Slightly greenish, but reads white in bright lighting. And no grid lines!!!
the secondary hull is nice in the XL model, but the saucer doesn't have too much to offer over the smaller one. Which is the problem with most XL models btw...
Nagging aside, still love the XL models!
It's a shame they still have such an issue with painting the windows correctly. I also had hoped with the larger scale that the multi-colored shuttle bay lights could have been added. Guess not. Add on the decal snafu and this will definitely not be a buy for me at the current price. Overall not terrible but not good enough for the money.
I am in love with that model I want it got it preordered but it's still at least 2 months away then few months after is the enterprise d can't wait I would love them to do voyager. just for electronic one to new Zealand is over $1000
Just came across this review after looking at your review of the NX-01 (Refit) and was curious how this ship compares in size to that one. Were they made on the same scale?
Why in the world is the spike from the deflector so damn huge? It's not like that on the filming model or Round 2's model... Also not sure why they painted it red...it's a copper color.
Waaaay outta my budget for now. Will think about it at a later time when I have more disposable income.
I was wondering, do you get all of your models through Eaglemoss or do you get them from other places too?
Having MAJOR issues getting any of the special edition type stuff in New Zealand. Do you have any suggestions on how to get these things (Sorts of INSANE prices on ebay) outside of the US or the UK?

Is it just me or is the deflector a tiny bit too far out.
overall a verry nice moddel but I think I wil stick with my two small ones.
Nice scale, looks a solid heavy construction but as noted, the seams are huge and overly obvious as to be detract from its looks. For the money? Nope, far happier with the Corgi one I have

Nicely detailed. Too bad they never fixed the decal on the one nacelle. It is still upside down.
what decal? I don't see it.
The front part of the port nacelle decal is upside down. Compare to the
opposite side and you will see it. Also, you can compare it to the
decal on the lower section.

I never noticed it on mine till I watched this video today. It's a really nice model otherwise, and I was happy to get it. Some minor issues, but overall quite accurate.
How much did it cost?

Looks nice but being a ship from *TOS* it isn't very detailed... It makes me wonder if it's worth its price.
this is a pass for me.
In my opinion, there is no real benefit from increasing the size, especially since I already have a whole fleet of Constitution-era starships from Round2/Polar Lights in approximately this size. And I am extremely pleased with all of them.
I will also pass on the D. I have Art Asylum's giant D with lights, sound, and saucer sep. I see no need to buy a $75 metal version
However, I would go for an E - that ship would benefit greatly from being super-sized. That one and the Akira I thought were not great Eaglemoss models, because they were too tiny.
Likewise refit/A, Voyager, and K'Tinga - I would definitely buy those.
Will they continue with the small scale ships, or will they be going to the larger size scale for future ship? Maybe do both?
centaur1a Eaglemoss plan to release larger ships as an option for collectors. The standard sized ships in the collection will continue as normal.
Love the video man,have ordered the model from Eaglemoss. My wishlist for this oversize series is the Enterprise B ,D ,E ,Defiant ,Voyager, NX-01 ,Klingon D7 ,Klingon Bird of Prey ,Romulan D'deridex & the Reliant.What would you like to see? .
Sadly I lack the space and funds for all of those, but they're on my list regardless! The NX-01 Refit model is on my list for when I get paid this month along with this thing. Hopefully mine won't have these paint misalignment fails as some of the earlier batches have.
Got my Enterprise today, just wow pictures & video's do not do justice to the sheer size of the ship.Truly a stand out model & IMO well worth the money,can't wait for more super size releases.

Nope get the polar lights pre painted snap kit in 1.1000 eaglemoss keep messihg up the hero ships except the nx01 spcial wicch is fab .
How does this look next to the NX-01 Refit special?

Why not measure the model in inches so that spending 80 dollars on the model will tell how big the really is. I have been looking for a very large model of the us enterprise , they are costly and just satisfieding to look at

Just based on the shots of the ship in your video, I am not impressed with it at all. The seams were huge and maybe that is because of it being metal. Also, there looked like imperfections in the casting when you were focusing on the decals on the front of the saucer. The paint was not good either. Other than the flaw you pointed out, it looked like there was a lot of crap stuck in the paint and it really looked like a finger print in there as well. You kept mentioning it was pricey. Not sure how much that price is, but if it is more than $30 CAD, then I would be returning it for my money back.
They forgot Robert April as first Captain of the Enterprise or is this non canon?

" The cage" " Where no man has gone before" Enterprise had a tall bridge, spiked bussard domes, huge deflector dish. and engine end caps were different. The TOS one was modified.
Does anyone sell models that are even BIGGER than this one ?
