    Just slipped on ice and broke my wrist. The doctors here in Ottawa Canada were amazing. I did require surgery with screws and metal plate to hold everything in place. Recovering slow and steady. Great video.

      Don’t forget have them take the plate and screws out once it’s heals, or else it will be easy to break again, the screw holes will fill themselves in Good Day Heal up 💪 💪

      @Pianist Anne Nguyen My wrist is fully healed now a year later.
      Are you saying you broke your wrist? Is it a fracture or fully broken in pieces?
      You should see a doctor right away. Get xrays etc.

    • @Chamindo7
      @Chamindo7 2 роки тому +1

      @Pianist Anne Nguyen Thank God your wrist was not shattered into pieces like my wrist was.
      Although a fracture can be very very painful. You need to treat it with much care! No lifting at all. No putting pressure on it. It will need time to heal. Make sure you follow your doctor's advice and take care of it.
      I will pray for you, that your piano playing will not be affected by this.
      Wishing you well and a speedy recovery.
      God bless you.
      I prayed for you just now.

    • @Chamindo7

      @Pianist Anne Nguyen I would follow the advice of your doctor. Perhaps there is a small fragment of bone now floating in your wrist? That could lead to complications down the road.
      Like I said, I would follow the advice of the doctors.

    My type of injury was Dorsal Angulation (Volar Tilt), and the ulnar styloid process was pushed up my forearm. So the Chief Surgeon moved it back into place, and I needed a Closed Reduction (the one from this video), and had a Fixation with kwires. Now I have a removable brace with velcro straps until I finish physio. All this from slipping on ice.

      I had a fracture of the dorsal radius - ORIF. They did a nerve block. I woke up in ICU recovery and had a serious breakthrough pain issue. I received IV Fentanyl, IV Morphine, Dilaudid and finally Percocet before I was able to stop crying, I was so out of it I kept telling my nurse take the IV out I have to get to the pharmacy and get pain medication. She said no sweetie you're spending the night with us. I had a near-fatal car accident in 2009 and broke 22 bones and I think this was more painful than my motor vehicle accident I'm 6 weeks post-op and still feel a lot of pain in the incision area and where the wrist joins the forearm. I'm not sure that my hand or wrist will ever be the same. I'm still in a cast. I played drums since I was 8 years old, I'm 58 now and I'm wondering if I will ever be able to play again, the pain was unbelievable and still is

It was the worst fracture 3 doctors had ever seen at my hospital. I also fracture my ulna, which is still broken now. It is too small to be operated on. @@anatolianshepherd8472 After I got my cast off, I had a brace on for 4 weeks. I started training the following week with limited use of my left hand (the fractured one)and more precaution. Over time I could dribble with my left hand again and finish then shoot floaters. When I got my brace off, my left wrist was still stiff and weak. I couldn't even do a pushup for a period of time. I tried stretching it and trying to use my left hand to do things instead of right hand. About 2 and a half months after I broke my wrist, I was back.
