What an amazing hour of practice, again. I know I can always trust you with my practice and I daily do. This new series sounds just like what I and probably every other person on earth needs at this time. In this episode I specially enjoyed your calmness in guiding into the postures like into pigeon pose and downward dog. Thankyou for your unmeasurable inportant sharing of this philosophy that supports us on our path towards infinite balance. I wish you luck to your new home and patience and harmony to your time on the road. With love from Finland
Dear Seatail, I'm so glad you enjoyed the hour of practice. I'm glad that this series is resonating with you at this time. We just filmed the next class in the series today, thank you for your patience. Thank you for your appreciation of philosophy and integrating that into our asana practice. We are here in our new home in Victoria now, so thank you for your good wishes. Sending you love from the West Coast of Canada! :) Namaste, Melissa
I know it goes far back for you, but I'm taking this class now and its really great, I LOVE your teaching, I will reflet and journal on those yamas. Thank you, Namaste
Lucky me that I have found your eight limbs of Yoga playlist! Thank you Melissa. 🌷I started it today with this class and will do each one in the next days. I love it, but after doing only Yin Yoga for over one year, I struggled with the triangle pose. So, my suggestion is that you relaunch this wonderful series but with a focus on beginners or people that are coming back to Yoga.😉🙏🏽🙏🏽
Love the practice and the new series, thank you for all the teachings and you Tim and your daughter have a safe fun, trip, looking forward to see your mudras on the road.
This was a great class for me. I am always out of balance so the rare moments when I achieve harmony are lovely. I am also currently doing an Ayurvedic cleanse so balance is right at the forefront of my mind! Namaste :)
Dear Joy, I love that this class came along at the right moment, I think you are going to love this series, we are going to be talking about harmony, balance and alignment all the way through. How did your cleanse go? Namaste, Melissa
I learned so much in this class. I could never quite put my finger on it before but I really understood for the first time the power of the alignment of my thoughts, words and actions. When I think about it, the times I am unhappiest is when these three things do not align. I was really fascinated by "non-stealing" and will be watching myself for the next couple days to see when I do it. Thank you so much!
I love that this class really clicked for you, especially the power of aligning your thoughts, words and actions. It really is powerful. It is amazing how our contentment is reflected in this alignment. I'm also happy that you were fascinated by non-stealing .... so cool to explore that concept on a deeper level. Thanks for practicing yoga with me. _/\_ Namaste, Melissa
Thank you so much for this class. I have been disconnected from my yoga and this week I came back to my practice (I redid class 201, the last class I had done and felt wonderfully calm during and afterwards). Recently I have noticed, through talking with my close friends, and thinking about my own inner thoughts, how hard we all can be on ourselves. We sometimes do things and often speak to ourselves in ways that are not kind. Hearing you talk about your old yoga mats and letting go of them but at the same time not disregarding the difficulty of that decision was emotional for me. Today I am doing something similar to what you talked about in the beginning of class, with moving away from a home you've known for a long while. As I type this the man I love is on his way in a truck with 3 friends to move in with me. We have spent the last year and a half traveling over 6 hours one way to see each other, and four months of that time he was studying in Spain (where I was lucky enough to visit him). I have grown so much from this long distance experience. By moving in together we are letting go of one way of being and shifting into another. We've spent time talking about all the different ways we feel, excited, nervous, full of love, and your class further instilled in my mind how it is ok to feel the full impact of an action. Yoga helps me center, feel rooted, and expand outward. Thank you for pointing that out so perfectly! _/\_ namaste
I used what i learned in the ´ strap class ´ with the strap around the shoulders and chest for straightening the back when i di my sitting meditation this morning . Thank you !
The manner in which you mesh practical matters and authentic emotional experiences drawn from your own life adds much, as always, to this class. I particularly related to the Twisted Triangle as a metaphor for adjusting to those inevitable moments when a life circumstance isn't what we thought it would be and it's up to us to adjust in a non-harming, true, non-greedy way. Thank you for helping keep the idea of mind-words-action alignment in my life as I go about my day(s)!
Dear Cyndi Thank you so much for your kind compliment about the way I teach. I appreciate that very much, I'm glad it resonated with you. I love your experience in reverse triangle, isn't that just the truth about life, twisting and adjusting to find a non-harming, true, non-greedy way. LIfe is all about that. Thank you for staying true in your thoughts words and actions. What a beautiful way to live. Namaste, Melissa
Dear Melissa… Happiness happens when your thoughts feelings and actions are in line with your truth (my own rephrasing upon Gandhi´s quote) My experience during my practice 224 Namaste Yoga was:While I felt I own my body (as my physical part) in my triangle pose, my legs strongly grounded as trees rooted to the earth when I moved my arm up projecting up the sky made me connect with my lightness. I connected with my emotional body, tears well supported dropped; light fear rain drops. I realized in my mind/though body I am starting something new with myself and this has giving me an opportunity to connect with someone new. This person I feel attraction for. I am not trusting myself if I not aknowledge the beauty of the unknown. This brings in all me the words I want to "gift- you", now that you, Tim and your daughter are moving. Melissa remember where ever you go you take yourself with you; "leave" nothing and this is why nothing else you need, no attachments; ALL lies within you; your heart that projects; trusting each step. your heart that protects; bringing yourself and all your beloved ones within you, I can tell you won't forget anyone; your mind that guides and plans and your body that feels all the emotions and beauty of your inner and outer world. That is the known beauty of life: we do have ourselves, we keep all our love in ourselves, we pack each memory for ever. We are safe and sound!! Enjoy this new trip, life is always a trip!! All my love from Mexico City: Alejandra.
Dear Alejandra, I love your experience in triangle, that is often how that pose is described in text books, deeply grounded into the earth and then a lightness in the upper body. That is beautiful that you were able to connect with your emotional body and release your beautiful tears as well. Thank you for your beautiful words, now that we are thriving in our new home, I can see that all lies within me and it was such a good idea to let go of all we left behind. We are still connected to those we love the most. Sending you love from our beautiful home in Victoria British Columbia. Love, Melissa
I loved this class. Thank you very much Melissa and Tim.
