Love this info! Do you got timestamps for this one? I'm trying to learn about the "copyright requests". I've been approved a lot before but this is the first time I've had to sign a copyright request.
My biggest tip is: listen to the playlist quickly before submitting. If you can’t hear a song like yours on it, don’t submit, they will 90% of the time not accept it.
Just stay away from Submithub, minimal ROI. Only exception would be if you like getting unsolicited mixing advice after the song is already finished and about to go live.
really helpful thanks :) especially cause i badly failed ad ads (i paid $30 for 8 clicks...). i tried to follow your ad videos but i must've missed something. hopefully at some point i'll be able to afford an ad agency, but until then i guess playlists are my best bets :)
hey julia i just checked your last video out of curiosity after seeing your comment. it's a very different area of music that i work in, but imo you should definitely keep going. your song is good - (i think production could be more polished but that comes with time) don't lose faith and i'm sure you'll get there in time. just keep going👏👏
@@djzincofficial thank you so much :)) it means a lot to me that you gave me feedback! i did produce and mix it myself- you do what you can with very little budget, but i do plan on delegating those things once i have the means. thank you for the encouraging words, it is difficult in this industry but it's nice to see support like that :)
@@JuliaCampbellMusic hey, I also checked out your visualiser, and I think you have a great voice and the production is nice. I'm studying production and I'd say, that your song would sound much more professional if you'd cut out the mouth opening noises. It's an easy fix you need no deligation for :) btw, I also though I'd deligate as soon as it's possible and it has been a disappointing experience. That's how I ended up making music vids myself, learning to run ads and actually studying production 😅 good luck to you❤
@@IriAntler agreed - i think if you spend a month or two learning about production techniques you'll never look back - and can rely on yourself from start to finish. just keep going 👏👏👏
@ thank you for the tip! yeah the noises are something i’ve been struggling with because it sounds kind of too automated when i cut them out. hopefully drinking more water will help 😅 production is really interesting to me too and i thought about studying that too, but some aspects of it are so complicated, it makes me think i’m better off spending my time mostly just writing songs 😅 ill just keep doing my best for now and hopefully climb my way up :)
Nope they're fine to use. As far as I know SubmitHub, Playlist Push and Groover are all 100% in compliance with Spotify TOS because you don't pay for guaranteed inclusion on playlists.
12:29 is that a good idea? I know that when I get songs submitted I don't care about any of that stuff. It got a platinum record? Cool... but does it fit the playlist?
I can’t lie, I submit subgenre specific and I have gotten “it’s just not what I’m looking for multiple times “ and I reply “that’s vague how about give it a shot ?, the subgenre matches and you have no complaints about the composition or mix” but still no cigar for anything
I received a lot of that as well and it's so frustrating. I'm finding that it's a better idea to advertise your own playlist that's just playing your own songs.
I feel like my music is extremely well produced, polished etc. I still get rejected at least 75% of the time. I’d rather just pay a curator of a big playlist but most of those people don’t have their contact information listed anywhere.
The artist I used in this example is an artist at my label, not my music. But I did change styles as well haha. Stopped going with my solo project to focus on my alternative metal bands.
@@AndrewSouthworth That's really cool! We're an AltRock / Grunge band with some Classic Rock elements. Always loved your videos btw! We checked out your FB ads services but USD to INR is just brutal man 😅
Thanks man! Yeah INR to USD is brutal. Not sure if this helps enough, but we have a new lower budget option here: southworth.media/ You could also try using services like Hypeddit or Smart Noise. They're automated so not as good as a human running an ad, but they get reasonable results a lot of the time.
I find their genre choices arent helpful, and some reviewers are just insane eg. You submit to 'metal' and the person replies and says "I dont really like metal"
Are you sure? All of my links seem to be working fine. Even if it did crash, ToneDen was on a whole different level. ToneDen crashed and permanently broke tens of thousands of links, costing some people thousands of dollars due to broken links and breaking links that people had printed on QR codes. Even to this day they never really acknowledged what happened. When FeatureFM or Hypeddit have an outage they typically tell people within a couple hours and have things fixed within a couple hours. My problem with ToneDen wasn't that there was an outage, it was that it was a permanent issue that they never informed their users of.
Submithub is scam. They be like: "good song but it's not type of what we looking for right now "Eeehhh....this song I submit is exactly what you looking for right now. They don't care about the songs. They listen 3 seconds and like: hahah this is bad. NEXT SONG...!!!! Also: After you getting added into a playlist they delete song after 24 hours. So much for that.
By definition, it is not a scam. They give you exactly what you pay for when you purchase a campaign through them, with 100% transparency. They're required to listen for at least 1 minute, and typically playlists you get added to will keep you on for 2-4 weeks. The longer they keep you and the longer they listen, the higher they are rated for quality on the platform. If their numbers drop too low SubmitHub will block the curator. They're not perfect. But saying they're a scam is just wrong. If you buy a bad product off of Amazon, is all of Amazon therefore a scam?

😂😂
that's pretty funny, i do think the mixing advice is good but no one for us to interpret mixing since developing that ear takes decades
Very helpful information my friend.
Thank you!!
I could've spent more than 20 bucks on SubmitHub, but they just don't have enough playlists in my genre (Symphonic/Gothic Metal)😩
Yeah some genres unfortunately just aren’t viable when it comes to platforms like this. Or there are only like 2 curators for the genre.
stay away from this site, some curators are scammers

Is it true that submithub playlisting is against Spotify TOS??
Nope they're fine to use. As far as I know SubmitHub, Playlist Push and Groover are all 100% in compliance with Spotify TOS because you don't pay for guaranteed inclusion on playlists.
Would you recommend only submitting songs that are already released?
Might wanna update the year to 2024
Yeah meant to make it 2025 and then went the opposite direction lol

@@davidallanmusic Problem is if we are less vague artists get mad and make posts about us so we cant really win no matter what we do.

perfect timing for me

Have you changed your style bro? Your similar artists always used to be Linkin Park & Post Malone if we're not wrong.

Control C and Control V 💀
RIP me

I've reported curators for having rejection criteria they didn't warn of before submitting. Got refunded
Hey I still get rejected after following every step.
Could just be the genre. Some genres just don’t work well for curation platform.
Meh.
Please make a video about how SubmitHub links crashed this morning and started costing us money and ruining an ad campaign just like tone den did! 🎉
Submit hub is also hot garbage through and through. Please make your community more aware of that
