How much are the Arapaima worth? Would be interesting to know the value differences of Brutus, Bruiser, the smaller Arapaima, etc.
Value on arapaima is no set value. It's all what a person is willing to pay, babies are 80 bucks. The larger they get, less ppl can keep them. So value should go down. Thats why I rescue so many. But someone might pay a premium for a big one
in the uk i have seen platinum aros for 50k as well as platinum arapaimas for 50k

Most expensive have GOT to be the platinum Ali’s. Those a amazing. I’ve had a couple true Ali’s now, and they’re such great fish to keep. Hardy, full of personality and fast growers, but damn if they kill every fish I keep them with. I once had a 8”Ali kill a 11” pleco. How does that even happen? Idk. None of those fish are probably as $$$ as the biggest Fly River turtles tho right?

They don’t for the most part. Most freshwater sturgeon species are going (or have gone) extinct in the wild. Green sturgeon is probably the most beautiful and they’re almost completely wiped out. Dams, pollution, and overfishing are destroying the populations. Dams reduce oxygen content and block them from their migration paths, and sturgeon take an obscenely long time (decades) to reach sexual maturity and even when they do they don’t spawn every single year, so reproduction rates are naturally low on top of the sensitivity to water changes

That was my first thought, but I saw an OFR reply that few people really want a fish that big. Makes sense. Price is demand x supply. So rare fish are costly, hence the price of the rare albinos. Then demand means that something you can keep in a normal aquarium (a few hundred gallons or less) is going to sell for more than something that requires a 50,000 gallon pond!

There's another thing you forgot to add about the most expensive fish depends on the person depends on his taste one person and will probably pay you know $5,000 for a fish or another person that really don't care about that fish it only pay 1,000 it's also the person it's how bad they want that fish that's like you like that black diamond sturgeon other people think that that fish is uglier than hell and they wouldn't pay two pennies for but like you you like it and you pay high price for it just depends on the person and your favorite content creator spot you just lost it Josh your daughter took it from you she's a sweetie she's a beautiful little girl you're a lucky man
