What was really shocking for Ukrainians is the amount of swearing in these conversations between Russian soldiers and their mothers and wives/ girlfriends. Also a complete lack of empathy. I get most of my Ukraine news now from UA-cam because the main stream media is so slow, sometimes even reporting things that happened over 2 weeks ago. That's as good as forever in this war. When I tell my wife the latest news she keeps doubting me saying that she hasn't seen or read anything like that on the news.
    That said, it takes a lot of experience to know what is propaganda and what is fact. I've even fallen for some of this, but you soon get the true picture when you read the comments. There are a lot of eagle eyed guys out there watching out and calling out any BS they might find.

    • @eurodoc6343
      @eurodoc6343 Рік тому +24

      There's also a lot of people, particuarly on Twitter, who want to be the first to report any rumor from the battlefield. Some of these rumors actually end up being true, others, not so much. If the professional media is slower, at least they're vetting their sources before reporting.

      @@eurodoc6343 Sure, the professionals are held to high standards of reporting and that means taking time to first corroborate whatever story they have with other sources. I'm not criticising that.
      But it's still interesting to get up to the minute news even if it means taking it all first with a pinch of salt. And anyway, over time you start to differentiate between who on UA-cam is seriously trying hard to give facts and is more trustworthy and the ones just manufacturing clickbait and peddling propaganda.
      A good indication of the quality of a UA-cam channel on Ukraine are the numbers of likes. A good channel usually has a couple of Ks worth already a few hours after premiering its latest video.

    • @makelvin
      @makelvin Рік тому +7

      @@mikethespike7579 , some people might know while many others not so much. Based on the number of likes alone cannot solely be used for trust worthiness.
