    So happy I found your channel! I think the safest type is a hard sided carrier w soft padding, in case you get in a major car accident. It's happened to lots of people with and without pets. I've definitely heard horror stories.
    I plan on getting a 2nd bun soon, a continental giant for my little one. he's currently free roamed in most of the top lvl of the duplex my hubby and I share with my mom & sister, except for my sister's room & my bedroom. My husband and I are looking to bun proof it however, so it won't be long now! Esp with a continental giant coming in soon.
    I'm iffy on harnesses & think they should seldom be used. One time my rabbit was really startled by my friend's dog that came out of nowhere. We were at her house and her dog was upstairs with her parents when suddenly her mom called out "Tofu needs to use the bathroom!" & literally a second later Tofu was running out. My bun literally leaped in the air knocking down part of my friend's indoor plant. If he'd had on a harness, he'd have broken his back. It happened so fast I'm not sure I could have let go of the harness in time. But I def plan on taking mine shopping in a little stroller 😃🥰 my current bun is super chill wen we go out. He eats in a moving car and everything. ♡

    Totally agree on the keeping single rabbits thing. I have a bunny, but I almost rehomed him because of some UA-cam videos I watched basically telling me I was abusing him. My family being great talk to me out of that, also, I think free Roaming can be a good thing, and I think making sure bunnies have free run time is important. However, I think the main thing with free roaming is I feel like it is underestimated by a lot of people just how much rabbit proofing you have to do. Obviously depends on the bunny. Some bunnies won’t get into stuff as much, but there are so many ways for a bunny to get hurt in an average house that I just think there should be A bit more talk of the potential dangers so that people know what they’re getting into.

      Agreed! It's like having to puppy proof for their whole lives lol but once you get it done once, you just have to keep things constantly neat. I enjoy that about them bc I'm usu a super messy slob. My rabbit forces me to be neat XD he's got me vacuuming and everything..... also lighting pet safe scented candles which I never used to do. Now my areas are spotless (& nice smelling). If not, I'm endangering the life of furry child. That's a great motivator 😅

    I don't mean any hate but I think the whole controversy around getting a secound rabbit is built around that rabbits are social in nature and while it would be best for your bunny to have a buddy, not everyone can take on the responsibility of having two. I totally agree if you have one it should be fine esp since it's really hard to bond and introduce a new one. I just wanted to back up the statement a little more because while I agree you can just have one, there's legitimate reasons why people get judgemental if you're not able to have two.

    I have an indoor free roamed single bun and I’d love to get her a pair however she can’t be fixed but she is still the happiest bunny I ever seen she does binkies and zoomies and she flops next to me we also spend a lot of time with her cause I’m always at home and when I was working 12 hours away from home a day my bag was with her and when he’s leave for work I’d be home shortly after she also sleeps next to me on the bed and taking up my size and sleeps next to me all sploot out like a superman position with her legs stretched out and her eyes closed and in the mornings she will take a short nap on my chest while I let her little face

    Personally , with the soft carrier I would never use one personally but, I do not disagree with soft carriers. I personally think they are ok but ones that are too soft I would disagree.

    Your videos are amazing. Honestly brilliant. I like sort carriers the only thing is my bunny is a chewer champion and might chew his way out pretty quick but I do like them and do have one. I have the hard version too. Binky does have a fear of being in one small space as he's never been caged so prob why he tries to chew his way out pretty quick. He once made his nose bleed as a kit in the week he spent In a cage. He's now 3 and not used to being contained. Your videos are very informative

      @@BunniesandBinkies aww bless her. Well Binky has always had a dislike of a cage or carrier. In the past at the vet I have just had to hold him under my chin and just let him lick my neck as he licks when he feels anxious. But being in the carrier causes his seizures it's very difficult. I really like your videos

    Hi, great video! I agree with all the points that you made. For the rabbits should not be pets for kids question, what age were you talking about? I hear very many pettubers saying that rabbits are not for kids but I never know what specific age they are talking about. I do not agree with ages 0-10 keeping bunnies- but i do think that kids older than that can be a great rabbit owner if they do their research and give them proper care!!

    • @BunniesandBinkies
      @BunniesandBinkies  3 роки тому +1

      That’s a great question! I don’t think there’s a hard cut off. I think older children can be great caretakers. However, I think the rabbits primary owner should be an adult (18+) unless the older child knows they can care for them for their duration of life (even when they leave the home and go to college for example). The only reason I say this is because I wouldn’t want an older child to get a rabbit, not realize how old they live, and then give them up when they go off to college. So, the reason why I say not for children in general (under 18) is because often their either too young OR they can’t make the commitment to the rabbit their entire life simply due to normal changes in life. Maybe in this situation it would be best for an older child to get an older rabbit? Does this make sense? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

      Hi im a child 11year old child I feel that it depends on the child I know some 13year olds I would not trust with rabbits but some 11year olds who are educated can do a good job with a bun
