I can’t speak from personal experience but I’ve heard when you pop a dislocation back in like that there’s a split second of extreme pain before you feel great again. Could explain why he said it that way.
This scene reminds me so much of that Grey’s Anatomy scene where Dr Yang was hospitalized and her mother was watching over. Buck (dr yang), tommy(grey), eddie(yang’s mom). 😅😅😅
Yes that is how you fix a dislocation, dislocations involve the joints of the limbs which sit in what is known as a socket (how they did it with a blanket and grabbing the arm is one of the ways how you do it properly to line it up with the socket before popping it back in, so you dont pinch a nerve, even if you do it without a blanket, its no less painful). Out of curiosity what did you think a dislocation actually was ?
@7MonarC most people get before hand is pain meds or a muscle relaxant depending on the severity ,(especially the swelling caused by the dislocation), but definitely no anesthia (unless its a surgical case, but if its a surgical case it's genreally more than just a dislocation), if its simply just a dislocation you are still awake when they do that.
Yeah I was a little shocked too. When I dislocated my shoulder in middle school they gave me something to stop the pain (but I was still awake) and then they slowly and gently put it back in. Nothing like this. But maybe that’s because I was a child 😅
well yeah it's genreally that way as a child because they don't want to traumatize the child, but also everybody pain tolerance level is different. Swelling can make a difference also. Alot of things definitely factor into it (if the joints is really badly swollen they definitely aren't going to do it that fast due to the risk of pinching a nerve can be present as a result of the swelling). The way they did that especially with the blanket/cloth material is how its done in the field. It is more often how you will see a paramedics put it back in (but they normally only do that in dire situations in terms of civilian paramedics), Normally, if a medic is doing that it's more often a military medic to a solider or a first aider if it required to do so under grave necessity (which genreally only done if you have a ways to travel with the casualty to get them help or to safety, in order to properly stabalize the lilm for transport). But it's definitely not uncommon for a doctor to do that either, it's just more often a case of they have options where as in the field you don't really have that and you genreally don't have the meds either.

And Chris going to live with his grandparents in Texas has to do with him being mad with father because eddie cheated on his girlfriend with someone that looked like chris dead mother all because eddie was going through a midlife crisis & chris needing to put distance in between them as a result of the situation.
