This is sublime writing for strings. Based on a String Quintet, the composition will, I think, appeal to lovers of Sibelius, Wiren and various string ensemble pieces by some British composers. Hauntingly romantic with strong dramatic elements, its moods are engrossing. I love the first and third movements which I find particularly absorbing.
