I'd slip in some filter under it to stop bugs and junk getting into your engine bay and maybe cause some issues. Could slip a wire mesh under the bonnet (hood) with glued on clips so you can take the mesh out anytime for cleaning etc. Looks good though and will be doing installing mine the same way but with a filter.

Just use clear silicone
To stop edge rust use a qtip dipped in paint

what about water getting into your pod filter?
Scoops are for an intercooler not a pod filter. Intercoolers work wet or dry.
What did you use to adhere the scoop onto the hood?
Urethane (if no screws) or screws in factory location... Some just have double sided tape but I wouldn't trust it
Windscreen/windshield sealer is indestructible
