The BEST live-action chase sketch. EVER. This reminds you of something they would have done with the Looney Tunes in the 1940s and I meant that as a compliment!!!! Surrealistic perfection!
That and about a thousand opportunities to have nailed them. And if they were already that close to the border, why not wait to eat at a diner on the other side of the state line? The multiple levels of absurdity is what makes this skit so awesome.
I have shown this to at least four different friends of mine and NONE of them laughed. But, strangely, i almost felt like they judged me for thinking it was funny. First time i saw it laughed so hard my stomach hurt and i was almost on the floor.
Not even Canadian, saw this bit as a child and it always stuck with me. There's an aristocrats potential here, just make it the most outrageously slo-mo cliche 80's cop chase you can think of with every action as mundane as it gets and make sure it ends with it being 'up to the fatties now'. XD
Indeed. Diners like that usually do make really good burgers. This must be more of a Canadian thing to have coffee with burgers and fries, as I have seen that in other shows out of Canada. Here in the US, you would normally have soda or a milkshake with burgers and fries.
Always felt that KITH sketches started with a great premise or setup but failed with the punchline or conclusion, but this one was one of those that was good through and through.
I thought I was going to bust a kidney, the first time I saw this on TV. If you love this, you'll love Coach Dobbs, fro a late 80's Toonces the Driving Cat special. Type in search, Coach Dobbs. You won't be disapointed.
It was filmed in Schomberg. The restaurant was demolished shortly after the skit was filmed. It was located on the north east corner of 9 and 27. A shell gas station currently occupies this location.
That dude sitting next to the cops wanted to be in the sketch so badly
The BEST live-action chase sketch. EVER.
This reminds you of something they would have done with the Looney Tunes in the 1940s and I meant that as a compliment!!!!
Surrealistic perfection!
I love it when they are all together in one sketch! xD
This skit is one of my all time favorites!!!!!
its such a polite police chase
It's friggin' genius.
I love when the camera pans over to show the convicts are sitting right next to them
literally wearing prison uniforms
My uncle used to live around the diner and everytime we went there, I always remembered this skit!! Thanks!!
This is and will always be, my favorite comedy sketch of all time.
Watching in 2024. 39 now, I grew up on this show
I love when the guy hits himself in the forehead and the james bond music going on when they are all downing their coffee!!😂
This sketch always makes me hungry. I'm gonna go eat.
Agreed. Those fries look good.
Me too
@@jaypee9575 I know, right?
I think that this is a great sketch to start with the KITH, it's silly, it's simple and it has all five in it!
This is classic! You can´t help but love Canadians. So proud to be one!
One of their best sketches ever. I remember the first time I watched it I laughed so hard I was crying.
FrozenFoley this is in the first episode I ever saw, love this sketch and this is not my hair and goodnight and the groovy school teacher
Love this sketch!! The criminals pay for their gas and food hahaha!
They're Canadians!
Many of those guys are polite to a fault!
That and about a thousand opportunities to have nailed them. And if they were already that close to the border, why not wait to eat at a diner on the other side of the state line?
The multiple levels of absurdity is what makes this skit so awesome.
Canadian criminals of the past.
the turn into the pumps is amazing
genius sketch
Answer to the question no one asked: Dave, Scott and Kevin are driving a 1966 Oldsmobile F-85 sedan. Dave and Mark have a mid-80's Dodge Diplomat.
The degrees of absurdity push this sketch to the point of no return but they pull it off with one of the best punchlines in comedy period.
I love the clean white line and "The Border" sign, hahaha
I have shown this to at least four different friends of mine and NONE of them laughed. But, strangely, i almost felt like they judged me for thinking it was funny. First time i saw it laughed so hard my stomach hurt and i was almost on the floor.
The times are changing. We're an old breed.
@@isleofgreg Ha. -- Or maybe it's a fundamentally different sense of humor we have. We are able to laugh at poetry . . . in motion.
they have never eaten a ham of truth
Time to change friends.
@@bencousins7311 LOL
Best KITH sketch EVER!!!
This sketch is brilliant.
Hahaha I love how escaped convicts pay for their gas instead of just stealing it.
my favorite sketch of all times!! thanks so much for upload this!! grettins from Buenos Aires.
I honestly NEVER get sick from seeing people scarf down food but this made me 'darn near puke'. Lolz.
Honestly.
Very funny and clever skit.
I taped this off of tv back in the day because I thought this was one of the funniest sketches I’ve ever seen.
those burgers and fries looked tasty!!
But these pretzels are making me thirsty.
That food just looks sad and gross to me. Not to be offensive but it looks like "white trash" food, or something you'd get at a school cafeteria.
This one is definitely in my top5 all time!! So ridiculously funny!!!
Been binging on Kids in the Hall recently (didn't grow up watching). This is one of my favorite sketches so far.
Scott reminds me of an old time gangster in this!
AsapNicky Bars I love the sideburns.
YESSIR!
Of all the sketches this is one of my favorites. Thanks for putting it up!
one of the funniest sketches EVER lol
Haha that quick inhale after drinking too much by Scott.
Guess those criminals weren't down with OPP.
All time classic
Best skit ever!!
All the opportunities they had to apprehend any one of them. Starting at the diner. 🤣
thanks for posting, one of my favorites
3:13 one of the greatest sight gags in comedy.
Favourite skit ever!
Definitely gonna have a burger now!
This is another good one. I like the sketches with all the guys together.
Just noticed the convicts are actually *paying* for the meal.
And gas
It was around Orangeville, ElizaWard.
Brilliant!
Can never decide if waiting for the check or the crooks stopping just over the line is my favorite.
How could ya choose? They're both just too damn good!! So..Ultra Fine.
Not even Canadian, saw this bit as a child and it always stuck with me. There's an aristocrats potential here, just make it the most outrageously slo-mo cliche 80's cop chase you can think of with every action as mundane as it gets and make sure it ends with it being 'up to the fatties now'. XD
I wish I had that 66 Cutlass now in Nov 2020. Lol
All have ☕️ except Kevin. I'm Kevin.
Who has coffee with a burger though
I've finished diner before I took my mom to the hospital. I knew it was going to be a long night...
It's not until I saw the cars...that I realized how old this is.
For anyone who's eaten at a diner or a denny's, i bet you can smell & taste those burgers, fries & coffee. #SenseMemories
Indeed. Diners like that usually do make really good burgers. This must be more of a Canadian thing to have coffee with burgers and fries, as I have seen that in other shows out of Canada. Here in the US, you would normally have soda or a milkshake with burgers and fries.

That is an astute observation, and very accurate.
The gas station looks familiar...I live in southwestern ontario...
Now that's law and order.
oh man that was great!!
Genius
L-O-L
Gotta love canadian TV.
I thought I was going to bust a kidney, the first time I saw this on TV. If you love this, you'll love Coach Dobbs, fro a late 80's Toonces the Driving Cat special. Type in search, Coach Dobbs. You won't be disapointed.
Only police chase where they both had to get gas first!!!😂
Doggy bags are for jaywalkers and mall cops
The real convict is sitting right beside the cops at 00:15. An he is Higghhhhh.
Andrea Bocelli is having breakfast next to the cops. ;-)
yeah.... that's why I'm the outsider.... always going with the pop! XD
Best Ever.
haha, they finished their fries.
Forgot the old cars had the gas tank under the license plate
And they had 8 track players
And we’re made of steel
For some reason, I feel that The Feds would be even more inept. And nowhere near as funny.
I don't normally use the words "taut action thriller" to describe a scenem, but in this instance...
If they'd just had "pay at the pump" back then, they might have caught them.
I'm down with o.p.p.
DAMN!!!! 0:36
The gentleman car chase
See, Kevin, this is why you're the one no one likes: everyone is having coffee and you have to go with pop. OUTSIDER!!
And now im hungry. Damnit!
This makes so hungry.
0:37 I didn't suspect those 3 guys at all until one of them removed the slice of pickle from their hamburger. Then I knew they had to be bad 'uns.
Talk about your last meals before your end...
the opp's finest
i thought they didn't tip but really, they just needed gas hahahahahaha.
Makes me want to eat a burger super fast
I love the show but this episode is all too true for my enemies..😵💫
They had to let 'em go. Them's the rules..
They made it to the border, what more can you do?
Classic!!!😂
I probably would too! Which diner is it? Is it in Hamilton?
Whoa, the days when you pumped first then paid for gas.
Isn't that how it's done everywhere?
I like the comments that KITH fans make - cool peolple like them
@LadyBern You still do here (Canada)
I want to find this damn restaurant! I have used Google Earth and looked all over the Orangeville area... Anyone know for certain?
It was filmed in Schomberg. The restaurant was demolished shortly after the skit was filmed. It was located on the north east corner of 9 and 27. A shell gas station currently occupies this location.
Too bad cops aren't really like this. I wouldn't of been arrested so many dam times.
Kewlios
Chow down for great justice!!!!
@LadyBern You still can, in a lot of places.
they just dont make sketch comedy shows like they used to..
I think that the fact that I said it that way hints that no that isn't how it's done everywhere sweetie.
2.10 sec and 2.55 sec mark the getaway car loses the same hubcap twice !!!
