Hi, Robin; another GREAT project. I'm loving that little folder -- I made one inspired by you with the cascading envelopes -- it is so cute -- anyway -- this is the method I use to print on tracing paper (onion skin paper used to be used for carbon copies back in the day of manual typewriters,, but tracing paper works great, and the cheaper the better. I buy mine from Amazon for five bucks, and whenever I can find it at the thrift store I always buy it) -- this method works every time and looks fabulous -- I love to print out French script, then lay it on top of a tag image -- the effect is great; also, I'll sometimes remove the clear plastic from an envelope and replace it with the printed-image tracing paper, it looks like frosted glass when you place a tag with an image in the envelope -- at Christmas, I printed out holly and other images and it looks amazing -- so easy to do -- I don't have a laser printer, but a nice Canon digital ink jet, and the tracing paper doesn't go through, but ,I just used a piece of regular copy paper and a light application of spray-on glue -- my favorite is the Elmer's in the orange can -- but this part is important -- I use painter's tape (dollar tree brand is fine), but I was thinking washi tape would probably work, and I have used cheap masking tape, too -- you tear off a piece of tape the entire width of the paper and apply it down the center of the tape at the top of the paper where it will go into the printer, and then fold each side down (I usually lay the tape down on the table and then lay the paper with the back side of the copy paper and then fold the tape over the tracing paper or fabric side. I leave a little extra on the ends/sides, then snip it off straight -- it doesn't matter if it's not perfectly straight -- what does matter is that you have a nice sharp crease that will feed smoothly into the printer -- also, be sure and adjust your image down a few inches to allow for the tape width -- believe me, I've printed over tape on more than one occasion -- I use that method for printing on fabric, as well, and I have never had a misfeed in all these years -- and I've had other printers, two different HPs -- then as soon as it comes out of the printer, peel the tracing paper off the copy paper -- now, you can also use card stock, if card stock goes through your printer smoothly -- I've heard somewhere a Xerox brand laser printer won't print cardstock -- but you can use the card stock for a couple of print runs, but with the copy paper, it's usually a one-time deal -- another thing that's really fun is to use the light-weight dictionary paper that's kind of filmy -- you do the same thing, adhere it on with the spray adhesive, the tape at the top (which prevents it from separating away from the top and jamming up your printer -- I watched a video about 10 years ago on how to print on fabric that way and I've done it ever since -- anyway, if you use all black ink on the dictionary paper, the effect is wonderful -- like a full rose print -- another cool thing is to print on top of music paper, and I use this method. It would probably feed through, but I don't want to chance it, especially if it's brown from age or coffee dyed. Sorry this is so long -- I'm not good at editing -- but give that a try -- My next big craft purchase is going to be a color laser printer -- I'm thinking of going with the Brother - I want an all-in-one and theirs is reasonably priced -- about $280 -- and gets good reviews -- in the meantime, I love this Canon -- it's a $300 office printer that I found at the thrift store for $35 -- and almost left at the store -- my HP paper scanner part went out on my old faithful HP, so it was tanked, so I thought I'd try the thrift store, and I almost left it in the store, but decided to risk it -- the problem with it was, it just needed to be reset, which was just a matter of unplugging, holding the power button down for a full 60 seconds, and voile' -- the printer was brand new, they only had it a few months, they had tried to copy a photograph, which was in the scanner part, and it must have jammed or something, so probably got frustrated and donated it. The extended warranty papers were in with the box, with the original purchase date -- and -- I learned Canon has the copyright on printer parts, so the big names: HP, and several others, but not Epson -- are all made by Canon, and then the other brands just add features -- who knew? -- Lord, by the time you finish reading this, hopefully this horrible virus will be gone -- hope you and your family and friends are all well -- I am on lock down orders from my son -- I'm 63 and have RA, which is an autoimmune disease, so I'm in the at-risk category -- the weather today, at least -- I live in Richmond, VA -- was mild, so I spent the entire afternoon working in my herb garden, getting it ready for spring and summer -- it's wonderful to go out there and find old friends who survived the winter -- the parsley grew like crazy -- who knew? -- I'll stop now -- Thank you so much for the Tutorial Tuesday -- it does take a lot of time to do the projects and then film and edit and post them -- I love your channel and appreciate it so much !!! But give this method a try of printing on tracing paper. You will love it!!
Hi Robin - Thanks for another wonderful tutorial. I just want to say that you and so many other you tube artists are a wonderful resource right now while the country and world deal with this unprecedented event. Thank you so much. Stay well.
Ah that made me smile thank you my friend for your kind words. It's all my pleasure, I love sharing my ideas with you all and now more than ever we need distractions that bring us some happiness right?
This is awesome Robin. I love the cardboard!! I've got four business envelopes all glued together, then got blocked as to what was next. Hopefully this video will get me started again and finish it.
Great idea to put these in a journal with pages for writing in between two of the envelopes! It looks so cute with the Target envelopes on top the longer ones, too, Loved learning how to do all this!
I enjoyed the tutorial. The craft along book is looking pretty good!! I like the necklace, however it would not be something that I would want to craft at this time. I think it would look great for others though. Thank you for sharing and happy crafting.
Very pretty. I love the idea, although I prefer the one with more pattern paper cause it has more texture and interest. This method would look awesome on my paper bag bottom journal covers too. Then add the envelops to the journal I love the coragated cardboard peices that you used are so nice The necklace is beautiful .

Hi Robin. A comment re Nova color .... I’m on the east coast and use Nova color products. They do mail order. The website is: novacolorpaint.com/. Prices are great compared to the big brands and I’ve found no difference in how the mediums perform.

It's good looks like Bastille Day
Is gesso like mod podge do you use it to glue papers on to pages
No gesso it’s kind of a thick paint that has a texture to it kind of it’s kind of Sandy. You can’t use it to glue.
@@robindudleyhowes so what kind do I need to collage on my pages? And do I need the clear also to seal the paper
Where are the links below? I’m not familiar with where they are. Duh!
Excellent!
