    Another comment. When we were in our Mission Bay High school in 1970 we could hear the crash of Tommy Fults in the time trial that took his life in the Lil Buzzard. In class we all looked at each other and knew something bad had happened. 🙏

    If not for the whole hearted support of the Schoenith family, Unlimited racing would have been less relevant..The Gale boats..Smirnoff, Gale's Roostertail, Savair's Probe, along with the other Detroit Race Boats, Miss U.S. and the Notre Dame which was based from Detroit by Shirley Mendelson McDonald, made a formidable contingent at every race in the Series...Until he regrouped with the Pay-N-Pak team, the Miss Eagle Electric was Dave Heerensperger's best shot at a Gold Cup..Colonel Gardner's death in Detroit caused a few owners to rethink their positions in the sport..Bill Harrah, left the sport soon after, and taking with him one of the most competitive boats on the water, the Tahoe Miss...
