    Weaver's Fabric is best!

    I guess if you finish it and you want the loops to stay, you could use an iron on stabilizer on the back instead of a glue.

    For Jena Bookout Moffitt - I wonder if fishing line would work as a substitute threader?

    It seems if you accidentally unthread your needle before you're done stitching, you could just thread the needle in reverse: pull the tail of thread through the eye first, then through the bore of the needle from tip to back. This way you don't have to cut and start again with a piece of thread, or undo your work and start over.

    • @carinhuber2570
      @carinhuber2570 5 років тому

      Also, I think part of your problem with restitching an area is that the fabric is already distorted by the first pass of stitching. If you have to restitch an area, try scratching the fabric with your fingernail, both crosswise and up and down, to move the threads of the fabric around and close up the holes. This should even the weave out again and let it hold the embroidery thread again.

    WHat do we do with the back ? What happens if we PuLL the thread ??

    • @Penguinandfish
      @Penguinandfish  3 роки тому

      If you're just displaying it, you don't need to secure the back. However, what rugmakers do is paint a glue on the back of the stitches. You can use something like an elmers white glue and that will do the job. If you want it for a patch, you could glue the back first, then stitch the design to a piece of felt or leather to cover up the back.

    • @sandramohr2311
      @sandramohr2311 5 років тому

      Hmmm. In the other video, she put her finger over the hole and the threader just went right through both.

    Was just gonna say , can I brush some fabric glue on the back ? Well I'm feeling I should.

    • @Penguinandfish
      @Penguinandfish  5 років тому

      yes, definitely a good idea, especially if you make it into a patch.

    Can you please tell me is there a way to prevent unraveling useing a punch needle I make baby blankets and want to have my daughter to wash the blanket but still have designs

    • @missmartamc
      @missmartamc 5 років тому

      My grandmother needle punched baby and children's blankets and clothing for years and none of it has come out. She said she punched tightly and everything she made was machine washable.

    • @50wipscrochetlife13

      @@missmartamc does she have a video on how she did it I haven't found any that showson how to prevent the un-weaving

    • @WhitneyHempsey
      @WhitneyHempsey 5 років тому

      @@50wipscrochetlife13 This is why you use weaver's fabric. When you stretch it on the frame it opens up the weave to make room for the needle, then you take it off the frame and the weave snaps back together and holds the stitches in place.

    • @Penguinandfish
      @Penguinandfish  6 років тому

      Hi, Leena. Punch needle is different than embroidery in that punch needle can easily come out. You could try to put an iron-on stabilizer to the back of the stitches to help hold them. Or a fabric glue. Hopefully that helps.

    You need to learn more about punch needle before you do video. There is nothing delicate about the stitches.. I have a shirt with punched needle on the front that has been laundered 100's of time, you don't need to glue the back the stitches stay in.
