Great post, Heather. We also use LinkedIn to generate leads that create more business opportunities and more sales.
When you mention sharing UA-cam content on LinkedIn, it's worth noting that LinkedIn will (supposedly) favour content that is created natively. Therefore, it may be worth re-uploading your content directly to LinkedIn to improve your visibility.

Alternatively, you could provide the link in a comment. It does an end run around the algorithm.
what do you think about when linkedin asks you to update your profile in other languages? i havent done so because i didnt think it mattered, but i'm always asked when i do an update on my profile. thanks.

I have a question though, so basically I am a software developer and I want to build a LinkedIn profile in which it maximizes my chance for job opportunities, but at the same time I want to start a side hustle in the same niche. I want to use LinkedIn to promote my (affiliate) links. So I will be targeting two types of audiences, employers and potential clients. How do you suggest I go about it? Hi! Doesn't look like you really got an answer here, so I'll jump in. LinkedIn isn't really optimized all that well for affiliate marketing. I don't think you're going to find a lot of success doing that here. And, as you seem rightly concerned about, there's a brand confusion problem that comes with it. I might suggest considering building out other social profiles to have more affiliate marketing success. Hope this helps!

Hi Professor, I am in Costa Rica , but when I want to connect in a US State, there are hardly any connect buttons. Why?
Hi, Gary! Looks like you didn't get a response, so I'll jump in here. LinkedIn actually won't let you connect with people if your "degrees of separation" are too great. If you have a connection, that's a 1st degree. If you see someone who's listed as a 2nd degree, then you aren't connected with them, but someone you're connected with is connected to that person. And it just extends from there. You can connect with 2nd's and, in some situations, 3rd's, but nothing past that. Based on what you're saying, I'm thinking you're not on LinkedIn premium and you don't have many/any connections in the US. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure what she used. If you're interested in screencasting, Camtasia is great (a little expensive, unless you'll use it a lot and have good ROI). A free option that requires external tools for editing is Screencast-O-Matic. Though SOM only allows 10 minutes max, and shows their brand on the recording.
