I am almost speechless at the beauty of this song. The vocals, the chord progressions, the strings, the bass... everything is so perfectly arranged and combined. Until today I had never heard of AR Rahman. I absolutely knew of Mohini Dey and her extraordinary genius and when I saw there was an interview with these two, whose reaction videos to the Kings on World of Dance first attracted me to their channel, I immediately had to watch and of course then had to watch this video and the actual Jammin video without the commentary. As you might have guessed, I am now obsessed with listening to more from AR Rahman. What a unique genius!!!
We Indians have adored him for decades now. Hr flies our flag high, keeping ‘Indianness’ as the nucleus but fluidly sewing together genres around it with seeming ease. Unmatched quality and growing strong with each passing song …
The way he was staring at them, it felt as if they were speaking Japanese or something, and he was an assistant or somebody who has to nod his head to what his boss said despite not understanding them.
There are so many layers of genius in this song apart from just the whole team performing in unison. This particular song is a textbook research material for those who want to know why AR’s music appeals to so many different people with different tastes around the whole world . There’s one section of an audience who would listen to this song only because of its insane bassline (the first thing that attracts the listener to this song ) , another section would be blown away by the orchestration backing the vocals Another by the “Indian” ness of the singing. And another section like Rick would be fascinated by those chord progressions . In this way every music fan be it Indian, Western Classical, Progressive rock etc etc is mesmerised by this composition. This is something I believe only ARR can achieve so brilliantly
Despite doing a reaction ,till date these guys dnt knw tht the bass portion in 'Dil Se Re' was played by Guy Pratt { Pink Floyd's official bassist:) } They'd be over the moon if they knew this!
The reason why I’m a die hard of ARR sir, due to the same reaction given by Rick when I listened to Rahman sir’s song for the first time when I was a kid. So no surprise. Rahman sir is a genius for a reason! 😍
A.R.Rahman is the Indian composer in the league of John Williams, Hans Zimmer, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, Alexandre Desplat, James Horner, Thomas Newman, Dave Jordan, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman, Ludwig Goranssonn, Michael Giacchino ... and he is one of the most versatile composers.
Ilaiyaraja has composed an entire song (Kalaivaniye) only in Arohana (ascending scale of notes) which is considered practically impossible from the film Sindhu Bhairavi. Please react to that song from powerful voice of KJ Jesudoss
This channel is becoming ar rahman centric..there are alot more authentic music in India..since you guys are really nice i just can't ignore your notifications 😀
I don't know about other languages but Ranjit Barot composed songs for Prabhudeva in a tamil movie called V.I.P. It is long time ago. I guess his career as a composer never took off.
You both are doing grt job of bringing personalities into your videos which is kind of interesting. It used to be so boring watching your videos earlier.
100 yrs of Wagon tragedy.... 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Salute to those 70 who became martyrs... On 19 November 1921 , almost 100 detained muslim rebels were sent by train from Tirur to Central prison, in the Madras Presidency.U won't get any air unless the door is opened. There was not enough space for 100 people. Many was standing in 1 leg.People cried and shouted a lot to open the door and begged to give some water...But the British did nothing..During the return journey 70 of the 100 rebels suffocated to death in the closed railway road wagon.. Some of them survived by drinking urine.... This horrific incident came to be called as Jalian Walabhag of the South... Later came to be known as Wagon Tragedy...

Could you please react to malayalam songs....u react to a lot malayaalam films and trailers but our songs are equally beautiful ❤️.... especially..our 80s, 90s and early 2000 songs
You need some crazy high-level music theory to understand the composition here. It's very jazz-influenced in terms of meandering around the circle of fifths, something ARR does exceedingly well. Not for the faint of heart. I had to listen to it about a half dozen times before I was able to figure out how the chord progression worked.

Very well stated ! But I would also like to add that in spite of the "musical melee" , the aesthetics of the listening experience is spot on !
Well said Rahul. I totally agree on what you mean. This song has a lot of unique stuffs to learn ❤️🔥
absolutely..no doubt
Bang on Rahul, articulated so well…agree on every note.
No one else can pull it off than ARR..I suppose each song of his is a study in brilliance

One of the most under-rated songs by AR. Not for the casual listener because of the meandering chords. Rick understands !
Bruhh im pretty sure 95% people watching this is just Korbin..

100%
The chords are indeed genius here and spine chilling. ARR's genius..
Rick : what was the chord ?
Korbin : don’t know
Mohini : don’t care
B or F dim, bass going from F to B
Meanwhile AR: " Doesnt matter, its all in my head"..
