I worked in the hospital, it still happens in 2019. They just use code words and reroute nurses to other patients. Doctors are also racist as well, most of them are good actors, few are genuine.
Racism is practiced heavily in healthcare which is why I switched careers. I worked as a RN for
8 years as a traveling nurse ...seen it ALL!

AnthonyCruz I am glad someone like you is telling the truth about what goes on in these hospitals. I have been in and out of hospitals since I was a child. When I try to tell people to be weary of of the hospitals., people want to believe these doctors are God and beyond reproach. Ask questions, refuse treatment that may not benefit you.beor until you have done your research. Then they can decide to follow the protocol. The things I have been through at these places. I don’t go out the hospital anymore but try to stick it out at home. They nearly killed me several times, so I don’t give them anymore opportunities to kill me. It would have to be life or death situation.

His baby is in the I C U and he's worried about the healers being black? Just out of curiosity, if your child was bleeding to death, how many people out there would rather allow your child to die than to have someone black try and save the child's life? Just curious.

Actually no you are wrong. The father was in a FEDERALLY FUNDED instituation and he doesn't have the right to suggest blacks can't touch his child. He would have had to leave. You can't practice open racism in a federally funded business or place. It is not allowed. He wanted the hospital to go along with his request. The hospital did and was SUED and they LOST. They will from now on tell him to take his child ELSEWHERE. Of course they can refuse treatment if the parent doesn't consent.

This is not uncommon in healthcare. My opinion is if a White/Black/Whatever color person is in the hospital, and is sick, but well enough to select provider care “by color”, let them have the color they want. However, if the color they want is not available, they have to wait for services.
Patients have the right to refuse care, for whatever reason, but healthcare providers cannot refuse to provide services. I believe assigning a healthcare provider to patients who have made such a request is unfair to the provider. It sets up the conditions for all types of unpleasantness.

I experienced racism by a Jewish therapist in a hospital-I’m multi ethnic ! He was mad that I am and demanded I speak the truth and tell him I’m not mixed-hmm yes I am and it’s evident in my family-he also asked me what type of man I married -when I said my husband is Italian -he then told me I had no right to marry a white person ! I sent the complaint to the hospitals general mailbox -his supervisor (who was also Jewish ) asked me not to post there as everyone can read it and they don’t want other staff members getting. Offended by him and they want me to be quiet about it ! I asked him if they want to tell my entire family that crap -and I sent pics of my family -and said would you like to tell all of us we are not mixed ? Even the ones who look white are mixed-he did a lame ass apology for his staff member -but seriously pathetic coming from a group that complains about racism doing it themselves

I wander how the Father would react if the baby, or later as the child gets older, injures himself/herself seriously, the ambulance is called and medics are African American. Would the Parents still not allow the child to be treated because the medics are black? my guess they would change their tune double quick if it meant life or death of their child.

In Texas about 8 yrs ago, I was a charge Nurse in nursing home and a white family's mother was on hospice and I came to work and they requested that I didn't have nothing to do with the care of their mother. Wow I was shocked and I did as they requested. I felt angry, cause I was a real good Nurse and saved a lot of lives there and was informed of that often. I just couldn't shake the pain off and when I looked at them as they would past by, it was terrible.

Most of the MHA staff were black and they discriminated against me and bullied me and constantly retraumatized me and hid things from me. They even admitted they did not want to mess with me. I'm still living gaslighted by authority figures and the books t hey wrote about me from white and black neoliberals are extremely brutal. Healthcare system, regardless of who works there, will discriminate against you no matter what kind of minority you are because as long as they're the majority, the majority will rule.

So much ignorance. I won’t buy a German car, but I would welcome a German doctor. It’s my health. I want the best care, regardless of who the doctor might be.

  • @plucas9324
    @plucas9324 5 років тому

Frankly, I wouldn't want that specific nurse to care for me or mine--she speaks English as though she's only recently started learning the language. If she's that ignorant of the language, what other parts of her education didn't she master???

    • @plucas9324
      @plucas9324 5 років тому

The one: Hey, if you want the nurse caring for YOU to be inarticulate in the English language, that's fine with me. If you don't care if he/she can communicate accurately with the doctors and other medical staff, well, then I hope you're got your life insurance paid up.
I prefer my health care professionals, my lawyers, my pilots, my cops and firefighters, my kids' teachers, my financial advisors, my engineers, etc., etc, etc., to be fully able to speak, read, and write English.
I don't give a damn how well the cashiers, the landscape professionals, the janitorial staff, the haircutters, the sanitation people, the dry cleaners, the sales people, the filmmakers, the artists, the musicians, etc., etc., etc. speak English. They are not going to kill me or anyone else if they have a miscommunication.

    • @plucas9324
      @plucas9324 4 роки тому

@UNQUANGL7 Q People working in an environment where miscommunication can result in injury or death need to be able to communicate fluently.
Medical personnel who cannot do so put the patients at risk.
Let's suppose your only language is English. Do YOU want Nurse Intelligent, (who speaks Greek, Portuguese, Polish and Russian fluently but is NOT fluent in English) to take your hospital admission history? Do you want Nurse Not-So-Bright, (whose command of English is poor), who barely got through nursing school, to explain the risks/possible complications of your child's surgery? Yeah, didn't think so.

African countries went for mostly other countries in Africa but they did come up into the middle east and wait for it several eastern european countries. The rest were called other things back then such as Persian empire Babylonian empire Akkadian Empire. Then you have the Ottoman empire which was kind of empire part 2 since first they were Hittite Empire of course not whitey. Akkadian Empire was again out of Mesopotamia which is in modern times called Iraq

  • @grantmyers7593

first off, I am not racist, but let's look at the laws. I think the discrimination laws are for the companies, organizations, etc..., not patients. I don't think the racist request by the patient is legally prosecuteable, but is morally wrong. I think it's disgusting that there are people out there that can't get past the race issue, but I don't think the patient broke any laws. I think to get rid of racism in this world, we need to educate people, since racism is a learned behavior, that this is not acceptable in any form.

I hope this will change the world. Had I thought of this earlier in life I would have given it too Martin Luther King.
How to end racial discrimination on the basis of skin color forever
First this kind of attitude is wrong and very stupid.
Genetically speaking there is a maximum of 1/2 of one percent DNA difference between the two most different people on planet earth, according to those that do this type of testing.
Lets put that in terms that show how little this is. Supposing we had a million dollars to split two ways. We divide it up evenly and take our half home. When we get there we discover a mistake of one half of one percent. That would be 5000 dollars mis-counted. Would you really be angry over this little amount in proportion to the total, or would you just do something logical.
I would be logical as would most. Now, logic would consist of phoning the other person and asking them if they had counted and found the error. The answer is yes I did.
Now instead of anger, mistrust, killing, treading down the person as we do between races, it is more likely we would laugh, ask when we could get together again. We would straighten it out then, and still be friends.
The price for having taken too much would probably be, that the one who accidentally took the extra would have to buy lunch. The miscount would then be forgotten for the mistake it was. This is normal logical behavior. So why not between races.
    Well?????????????????? Lets see.
First we must try and establish how easy this problem started and why. Here is my belief on this.
Supposed I as an older white person is walking along glancing at my paper and a young black person came from the other direction texting. We suddenly run into each other. We both apologize, admit we should both be paying more attention to what we're doing, and leave.
But that is not all that has happened. Something else did also. First there is the shock of accidentally bumping each other. That we deal with through an apology.
What we do not acknowledge is a second reaction that is happening in both of us.
We are standing there trying to suppress the fact that our fight of flight mechanism has also kicked in. Now this is a second reaction and although we are both having it, neither one of us admits it.
As we walk away this second reaction eats at us.
Now remember in the wild, different branches of the same species will kill each other rather that co-exist. Lions, tigers, leopards, etc do not have lunch together, but on each other. They will kill each other on site. We also are having the same reaction left over form the cave man days.
Because we do not understand the reaction for what it is , next we wonder if that person is bad, and if this will happen the next time we meet. We have by doing this, built a self full filling prophesy. We now assure the same reaction again by our own attitude.
Now we go home again, very bothered by this having happened a second time, and our next thought is very bad. Is it only him or is it there kind! I am sure you can see the rest of this slippery slope all the way to today's attitudes. I believe that something as simple as this reaction, is the initial base for discrimination even today.
Now the multi million dollar question. How to solve it forever???........... Well this is also easier that one might think.
First our politicians have made a million laws to stop this, and all with great sincerity in promoting the fact that a human is a human, and all of it barely works. But why? The laws are made with a genuine desire to stop the problem. It is a credit to our politicians that they do so, even though it is not working.
The reason for this is because the laws are made for adult people, and this is the wrong stage of life to stop already hardened patterns of thought. Often laws do not change or influence older people. So HOW do we change this, to make it work.
    Well............. like this.
First we must change attitudes much earlier in life, and here is how. It is simple and in offensive.
Why don't we just start teaching children that different colors of skin are like different colors of eyes, or hair. Some people are narrow, some are wide, some are tall some are short, etc, etc. I am sure you can see my point.
The truth is that if kids were taught this early in life, there would be an explanation of why there are different colors. With this knowledge now in all of us, placed there from infancy, their would be no fight or flight reaction. Color would be explained and accepted.
    No reaction, no discrimination.
Even today one of the reason for discrimination is that we have no explanation for our color variations, so we do not know how to handle it. This lack of knowledge causes the reaction in the first place.
    That can be fixed.
Although not purely scientific, their is much evidence that different UV content from the sun, along with different diets of local flora and fauna, containing unique combinations of minerals, trace elements, and tannins really could account for skin color variations world wide.
This is a simple explanation, that if universally taught, I believe would eliminate discrimination on the basis of skin color within a generation. It would also make equality in the minds of children automatic.
Remember that all kids accept adult teaching as truth. They do not ask for DNA analysis.
Future comments on school grounds could be like this. Black and white. Coming form the east. Oh that is Carol and Jane on their way. Good they'll be here soon and we can get going.
This and other comments like this would be said totally without any prejudice at all any more.
This also should not contradict any religion, as most say the colors were created by their god any way. They could just say that god created colors as another way to tell each other apart. This should offend no one.
This is what I believe would make the entire earth world a better place for all.
Please if you think this is good, copy, paste and spread it around the world.
I hope what I have written will benefit all of mankind.

Harvey Holloway it is not about attitude or education. It is about the machinations of white supremacy. It is about the American brand of white supremacy and the global influences of white Americans to distort the perceptions of the world.
The Moynihan report stated by in the 60’s that the problems of black folk in America were white people. White people need to abandon white supremacy as a way of living in the world.

Theses chained Queens breast fed their oppressors young giving them a healthy start with black milk. Cooking and cleaning and providing both mother and child full time attentiveness. OMG
Now today their are scared that black professional woman want to cause their children harm. Where in the news do hear black women hurting white children???

Lorde Cooler You are in a hospital, they are obligated to have the best personal available wait on the patients, if that is a black person, so be it. The patient has the right to go to another hospital for services if he / she is not satisfied with that decision. The patient can’t dictate who will serve them, as was pointed out by the attorney for the hospital. The baby was in NICU, clearly you don’t know what that is. That’s intensive care for babies, the senior nurse was black, who would you want taking care of your new born in that situation? The idiot parents put their prejudices ahead of their child’s well being. Had the child died, the idiots would have blamed the hospital, and rightly so, the idiot administrator had to be saved by the attorney, because he couldn’t go to court and say yeah we had a more senior, experienced nurse available, but the parents didn’t want her because she is black. Even you would have found the hospital guilty.
