I was also fortunate enough to be able to see Klaus, he has left us a collection of good music and created a unique style of organ playing.
Klaus once said to me when I was around 21 years old sat drinking with him " my time is nearly over but you have a long life ahead of you so be prepared to move on" I have never forgotten those words.

    Hello Joh,
This feature is called "OMC" (Orla Magic Chord) and originated from the early Lowrey organs such as the "Heritage" and was called "AOC" (Automatic Orchestra Control) It was used to great mastery by players such as Alan Haven and Harry Stoneham.
It works by linking the left hand chords you play in the lower regions of a modern keyboard , or on the lower keyboard of an organ , suoperimposing them onto the right hand notes you play. Notes must be played an octave higher than usual.

Thanks and happy new year, The Orla organs are still doing well and one of the first and last firms still producing organs.
The Tyros 4 is also great for creating the Klaus sound as it has the new euro organ drawbars. I have one of these and are in the process of creating some Klaus registrations which should be available fairly soon on USB sticks.

great job. I'm not familiar with the orla organs (I've heard of them, but I never played one so it's time to google some of these fine instruments..... ( I didn't think they still produced them) As a big fan of Klaus Wunderlich I enjoy any type of music with his world famous sound. I am a yamaha fan, and in the process of buying a Tyros but also had my eye on an open lab NEKO....we'll have to do some more research. Good job and continue playing because organs are great instruments. Adriaan

Hello Jason, this is wonderfull stuff !! You've made some really good sound-samples on the Orla-organ. If I had an Orla like this, I would certainly contact you for such a disk. Great work, and also love the way you play those nice songs. Thank you for this upload.
    Best Regards, Jan.

@organaut Can you post this video again without the graphics on the screen? I'd really like to see your left hand better in the video. Some players are difficult to see where their fingers are and some aren't. I find your fingering very easy to follow. I sight read so so, but sometimes I just want to see how a song is played. It comes from years of playing guitar. I just got a Hammond Elegante and I'd love to learn to play 'A Man and a Woman'.
You did a good job with these sounds BTW. Thanks-P

Hi, Sorry I didn't reply last time. when I tried ,your comment did not appear in the comments section for some reason. These organs are no longer available new but if you are moving to the UK then there are lots of used ones for sale on ebay and from musictraders, an Orla dealer here. They range anything from £300 for an older GT3000 up to £2000 for the more recent ones. Come and say hello when you move here.

***** Thank you for your nice answer...not so much that will cost to buy a used organ...of course I will say hello to you when I move to Wales..you are living close by Wales. ?... Greetings Gurli from Denmark..

@petertpipe Well thanks, this video is really a demo rather than a performance, just to show anyone who maybe interested in obtaining one of these disks for their orla.
I will play some proper tunes again soon hopefully

  • @organaut
    @organaut  13 років тому

@6342trevor yes they will work fine, in fact somebody with a DLX2 bought a disk from me sometime back.
I actually began work on these sounds, back when the Gt9000/8000 were the current model.
I'll send you a message also to your youtube inbox about how to order. in the meantime you can email me if you wish at organaut@hotmail.co.uk.
    Best wishes, Jason

@6342trevor I must point out that the theatre organ disks will work but some of the sounds will be different due to the fact that certain sound samples are only available on the Grande/compact theatre models.

@Thedaanvo These sounds are only produced from the Orla itself straight from the registrations disk I made.. Even though you can't see in the video
I purposefully disconnected my Roland Fantom so there was no way of cheating.
The Orla's digital rotor is very good at producing a Klaus type sound. On top of that , I carefully blended in other sounds from the Orla also to create special sounds. Even the reverb effects are from the Orla.

@paulj0557 Hi and sorry about my delayed reply, We made this video soley for the purpose of a demo, hence the graphics, as you know. We didn't have the angle of the camera set in a suitable position to watch fingering.
I may record another video soon for you playing the whole song of a man and a woman.
I play it in F, if that helps you, but its one of those type of tunes which feels like it is always flowing into a different key. Hope you're enjoying your Elegante. BW

Yes, even one finger play sounds like full-hand (chord) melody... How is that done?
