for someone like me, a motivated student to be a surgeon you are a hero. I live in Norway and have asked this question many times from several doctors in UA-cam but have not got any answer. I am 17 now and the school subjects are so easy for me. What should I learn now that can help me with my university studies. Anatomy, physiology or... the medical world is enormous and I just want to know where to start

We aren’t too far from you here in Texarkana. I wish my sister could be your patient, but it would probably be painful traveling several hours after surgery. She has a list of issues and has had a fusion and a hemilamectomy and just turned 39. With her age, doctors are not comfortable doing more fusions. I have Spina Bifida Occulta (that somehow wasn’t diagnosed until I was 33). I’m so thankful for the information you share! It’s so awesome to see someone from Shreveport/the Ark-La-Tex become so successful and truly give back.

Dr. W, did you see the video from his prior back surgery? "Carson Daly Details His Journey With Back Pain And Recent Surgery" around June 12 or 13 2022.

Unfortunately I’ve had the ALIF/PLIF combination surgery two different times. I’ve also had a TLIF. In Dec 2022 I will bat for the cycle and have a XLIF and PLIF combination surgery. There is a concern that my spinal instability will require rods into my pelvis but I’m hoping we can avoid it.
We are also exploring SI Joint fusion. Yes, my spine is a degenerating mess but I have a fantastic surgeon. My only comment is that ALIF procedures are much more complicated and require more recovery. I have to admit that both my ALIF were paired with PLIF surgery so that’s a lot of time on the table and two large incisions.

Hi Dr Webb, could you do a video on some hip disorders such as FAI and dysplasia? I am a young person (23) who has suffered since I was 15 due to lack of knowledge about such rarer pathologies in more rural areas of the USA/non-major metropolitan areas without as much specialized/skilled medical treatment.
I have had 6 orthopaedic surgeries and unfortunately need bil surgery for vTOS and then hip surgery revisions to correct some mistakes made during the first operations when I was 17. I really enjoy your content and hope to be a surgeon one day, but am not sure if it will be so doable with such a late age of entry. (Assuming all goes well, I still may not be independent again health-wise until I am 27, with 4 serious surgeries ahead of me)
My FAI is a result of an accident during growth. It took forever to diagnose due to lack of physician knowledge. I am trying to spread awareness on these pathologies, thank you.

Dr Webb... I Truly Enjoy Your Videos. Which Is Very Informative. THANKS For Putting Them Out 👍🏾
(?). I Have Been Diagnosed With Spinal Stenosis and With A Bulging Disc Around The L5-S1 Area. My Neurosurgeon Doesn't Want To Operate. Cause Of My Weight. He Feels It Would Be A Heavy Surgery. (Me Being 6'2 @ 400lbs). Is There A Much Simpler Surgery He Can Do To At Least Take The Pressure and Pain Off My Lower Extremities? To Relieve Me Of The Pain

Dr Webb can you do a review on the TV series Dr. Death? It is on Peacock Premium. About a sociopathic neurosurgeon who paralyzed and killed his patients due to botched surgeries.

Dr Webb, thank you for informing us! My question is what type of material/ device is best used to fuse the spine for someone who has narrowing of the spinal canal and looking to have optimal range of motion on the neck after surgery?
