Its called the Till Hammer
and is commonly seen being performed by joakim broden
@Austin Lane STOP BEING SPAM, I SEE THIS COMMENT EVERYWHERE UNDERNEATH THE FAKE SCAM SITE
@@bigfrankfraser1391 joakim unlocked the golden knee skin during bismarck video lol
He performs this because he suffers from stage fright
His signature move is called the Till-Hammer.
He laughed because his gesture did not fit the line he was singing. He put the hand to his ear while singing „can you see me?“
No, he laughed because if the random buzz sound
@Necramonium Nah look closely, he said can you see me and pointed to the crowd, then then the buzz sound came up, so he put his hand behind his ear and looked up as if he's saying: wtf is this sound!! you can see the look on his face when the buzz sound came out of nowhere
He sings "Versteht ihr mich" (Do you understand me) and he laughs because he knows nobody understand him. I guess
you are absolutly right
@@Pingus-rv5pi german band in germany singing german, everybody understands him pretty well. i guess.
The song is irony in itself. Do not glorify anyone, do not trust anyone who says trust me and does not follow anyone who stands in front of you and claims to be in possession of the truth. A little mass psychology experiment.
4:02 Till's problem with "not understanding" isn't that he can't hear people, it's because he can't comprehend why they're going along with it.
funfact: At the beginning of her career, Till had suffered a knee injury during a song and tried to punch his kneecap again. it was so well received that he kept it. that's how the move came about TillHammer
Ich Will is written like that because they KNOW the crowd will answer; Rammstein has amazing crowd control.
I worked with a guy years ago that was a close friend to Till and shared some times with me.
Till strongly encourages and loves getting the crowds involved in the show as I was told.
I'm 60 and absolutely love Rammstein ...
"Tills Hammer" was born out of necessity when his kneecap jumped out during a performance and he "punched it back in"
There is the Till-Hammer
There is the Tills head vs microphone
There is the Till spits water
(Please comment for more)
Totally awesome. I looooooove rammstein. Love Till. His voice just suits this kind of music. Till is so charismatic and I love his signature move. Nothing like a little head banging. I can't believe he's 60 and still rocking the world. More Rammstien please. My favourite I'd Du Hast.
Love the laugh when he realizes that he said “do you see me?” And held his hand to his ear.

Being a perfectionist myself, one of the many, many, many things that I appreciate about Rammstein (which really is everything!) is their precision in everything they do. In this video, as well as others, I was noticing how the pyrotechnics are perfect. They go off at the perfect time. Whether it's to a drumbeat, a guitar chord or someone's movement, it's perfect. It's the details, man!
Also, if you want something a little different from Till, check out Mathematik from Till's side project. It's a different gendre than he normally does, but he puts his unique spin on it.
Thanks for all the reviews. I really enjoy them! Especially the Rammstein ones!
Easily their best performance of this song! The crowd's energy is fantastic.
I beg to differ: ua-cam.com/video/NF4F_Ib7878/v-deo.html
The official video to this is one of my favs! Love these guys
Usually the live performances are much better, but the music videos are worth watching, too.
The following songs are worth to „rewatch“ with the official video:
- Deutschland
- Amerika
- Keine Lust
- Ich will
- Mein Land
- Haifisch
- Ohne dich
- Radio
- Mein Teil
React to Rammstein "Ich Tu Dir Weh" (I hurt you). React to the Madison Square Garden Live Video.
Yes its really missing
Check out something from the 2019 stadium tour. Sonne, Rammstein, du hast....best and biggest live show you have ever seen. Something from the Moscow show.
This Song is in the Video game trailer "destroy all humans" very funny
a great song, and a great channel. love you guys
Ohne dich is one to check out. Youll see one of their sides you probably won't expect.. Might even catch the feels. It might not stand out amongst the general public knowledge of the band but every fan loves this track. A hidden gem i think you both will enjoy
And the video for this song is awesome.
React to Rammstein "Rammlied" (Rammsong). React to the Madison Square Garden Live Video.
That purple is such an awesome hair color.
Yesss ! Please more Rammstein! :D
можно сказать, что вырос на раммштайне, до сих пор слушаю их
When reacting ro Rammstein, please check also their absolutely legendary official music videos. Sound quality is superior to live concerts and they also tell very Rammstein kind of story of their songs. Like this "Ich will", one of my favorite Rammstein ones.
Till-Hammer is THEEEEE MOOOOVEEEEE!
The "Tillhammer°.......ts the ultimate signature Move.........servus from Germany
I have seen Rammstein 3 times live. Its the best you can get. One of my favorites is Ich tu dir wee and one of the best songs ever but on limited edition only is HALT. so fucking good
That was not a coincidence. Till laughed because He knew that all those people will answer. That's why this is so awesome.
Hey Guys, just for Info his Headbanging Fistbump was born by Accident, he popped his Kneecap out on stage once and didnt stopped the show instead he thought about how he can pop his Kneecap back so he started too punch his Knee so thats how it was born ;)
The beginning...you said WTF...It’s actually a super dope song BUCKSTABU.
I love very much! Thank u...more Rammstein 😀❤️
absolutely love your reactions to rammstein omg
the song also was in the trailer for the game Destroy All Humans at E3 2019
best reactions on rammstein!
Early years of Rammstein, Till had a cramp during a song and punched his thigh and the audience loved it so that’s how the Till hammer was born lol
The story I heard is that his kneecap had a tendency to dislocate itself (old swimming injury) and it happened one day while he was performing so he hammered it back into place lol
@@Always-fd7pk That's right. Paul saw it, said it looks good and the rest is history.
Wow, havnt heard ich will?? One of their biggest songs
The signature move is called the Tillhammer.
there is a brilliance behind the "i don't understand you" (they mention this in interviews)
It is at first glance a call to the audience to reply back (do it louder!), but the second meaning is the singer not understanding "why are you doing this? why are you giving me all this power? i dont understand you (what you are doing)"
Rammstein has a thing for double entendres like that
I was there and it was freaking amazing. Best live band in the world. Going to see them again next summer 😍
Some Fun-Facts regarding Rammstein:
The band was founded in Berlin in 1994. So, this has been after the reunion of West-Germany (FRG) and the former socialistic East-Germany (GDR) in 1990. All of Rammsteins current band members are coming from the former GDR (German Democratic Republic) and SOME of the band members were playing in two Punk bands during the existence and after the fall of the GDR: "Feeling B" and "Die Firma".
Die Firma (engl. the Company) has been the nickname of the former Staatssicherheitsdienst (Stasi = State Security Service) that has been spying on and arresting people for (mostly political) crimes. And Punkbands were a popular target for the Stasi due to anarchistic and subversive speeches and actions. The band "Die Firma" existed from 1983 to 1993, two of the band members later joined Rammstein: Paul Landers and Christoph Schneider. A very delicate background story of "Die Firma": The founder of the band, Frank "Troetsch" Troeger, has been an "unofficial staffer" (=spy) of the Stasi.
Feeling B existed from 1983 to 1993 too. The original band name should have been "Feeling Berlin". As there already has been a band with the same name in Berlin, they had to redefine the band name. All of Feeling B's albums are pure punk with exeption of the last one in 1993: Die Maske des roten Todes (Mask of the red dead). With this one they mixed up medieval songs with rock. So, they have been pioneers of the medieval rock genre. 3 of todays Rammstein band members also played in "Feeling B": Paul Landers, Christoph Schneider and Christian "Flake" Lorenz.
But Schneider was only a guest drummer there. He didn't like it either and left the band. He also didn't want Paul to be admitted. But Kruspe and Till prevailed. They came to Berlin from Schwerin, a city on the Baltic Sea. Paul was already very well connected in Berlin. 😊
Kruspe, Lindemann, Riedel and Schneider were the founding members. They all came from Schwerin. Although Schneider was born in Berlin. But they all played in Schwerin at that time
"The headbang fistpump" or as we know it, "the Tillhammer"
I took it that the song is about the relationship between the band and crowd, feeding off of each other...
At the beginning of his career he was tapping on the knee to put the kneecap back in place.
Visually the other musicians found it to be good and they asked him to keep doing it.
Loved this at the end of Volkerball with Oliver Reidel crowd surfing in a rubber raft. Fits the song.
5:31 "Wir verstehen euch!" is not the studio lyrics. There he repeats the "we don't understand you" line every time, only when performing live does he sometimes change it, depending on crowd reaction.
I feel like this song reminds me of that song that goes “so tell me what you want, what you really really want”😂😂
But he also has one hell of a voice. In life she is awesome
Awesome guys thank you
Watching the clip with this song will give more context. It is about criminals being glorified by the media and everyone adoring them. Getting the chance to be heard and seen and thus influencing people.
The Therimin is the instrument used in original sci-fi flicks.👍
I love to see this video, I was there and it was amazing, hopefully I can see them this summer again in Lyon. 😍😁 I hope it will be possible then
Wow, yesterday I discovered this channel and now you upload one of my favorite songs of all time.
Please check the 2019 live version of their song called Rammstein. The amount of FIRE is mind blowing.
Spring(Jump).....Fan Made Video.....von Rammstein 👍👍
Hey, next time......
"Weisses Fleisch"(white flesh)
live at the Madison Square Garden
To me, this song is always about how easy it is to manipulate the masses. He does not even tell them what they should believe in but they just answer that they are with him. The song is fantastic but it's also pretty scary.
We like to judge people who trust in dictators but Rammstein are showing the crowd how easy it is for them to control the audience.
I've seen that live multiple times. It always gives me chills when the audience responses to him. Great piece of art.
What Till can't understand is, why Rammstein has so many international fans, since all their songs are in German. That's what the song is about. "Do you understand me?" "I can't understand you."
No in one interview Paul said its just a song made out of the good old Rockstar thing with "Can you hear me" etc. cause normally they dont do that.
@@mrn234 All things are true.
They wanted to do a song like this, but they also don't understand, why rocks stars always do songs like this, where fans shout back at them.
At the same time it has the double meaning about the language barrier. That's a least what Till said in the official making of video of the "Ich Will" music video.
🤘 I always love to see/hear (and get goosebumps) when the crowd is interacting (and v.v.) with the band. A great example is another band from Germany: *BLIND GUARDIAN* live at Wacken 2016 with *_”The Bard’s Song & Valhalla”_* : ua-cam.com/video/i-IcX_bccFc/v-deo.html
Awesome!! Older banger and yeah, she nailed it: it really was made for live shows. Always asking this: "Ich Tu Dir Weh" live in Madison Square Garden, banger! Peace!
Now that you have done the original you can also add Alex Terrible's cover version on your list. :)
The sci-fi choir thing in the background always gives me chills. Every time!
that 1950s sci fi instrument is called theremin....
your reaction is as cool as the show
Or Rammstein - Bück dich live from Montreal
I was there live
That signature move is called Jachammer Mat (I think).. Yeah Its awesome. The song was Made to interact with the crowed -you are right there Chels. More Lindemann and Rammstein guys. Keep up the good Work.
I know it as Till-Hammer lol
@@tobinsen99 Close)
@@tobinsen99 Me too and I am an Austrian fan since 1997.
Fun Fact: this song was use for the trailer Remake of " Destroy All Humans", a game where aliens kill humans for the sci fi feel you mentioned 👍
I Like your Rammstein reaction. 👍🙂
nice reaction
Man... You guys need to watch "Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song & Valhalla - Live at Wacken Open Air 2016"
This is good crowd interaction, but wait 'til you see Blind Guardian ;)
Just to stop all that discussion here why Till laughs:
At 3:19 he sings: Seht ihr mich? (Can you see me?) With his hand on his ear (The "Can you HEAR me" position) by accident
AND
At 3:35 he does it again but this time on purpose to make fun about himself
Germanic languages are naturally very similar, quasi dialects. This of course also includes the English language (Anglo-Saxons). Anglo-Saxon, term used historically to describe any member of the Germanic peoples who, from the 5th century CE to the time of the Norman Conquest (1066), inhabited and ruled territories that are today part of England and Wales.
The band says "we don't understand" in reference to them not understanding why the crowd is singing along and putting their hands up, cause they don't talk to the crowd normally
Rammlied in NY from In Amerika
Is there a certain reason everybody who reacts to Rammstein uses only old video material? Why is nobody react to songs of their 2019 tour? The stage is so much bigger, the audience here in germany was unbelievable, the pyro is above everything! Try to find some 2019 material, their are even videos of the complete Moskau or Berlin gig available on YT made by fans for the fans.
Talking above this song here, I was at 10-12 Rammstein concerts, and they can't leave the stage without playing this song. The interaction between them and the audience is breathtaking on this song. Can you imagine standing in a crowd of 70000 people and Till is singen "Can you feel me" and all of them singing "We feel you" as if from one mouth? Man, those moments makes the tickets worth any price to pay. You can't leave this world without beeing on a Rammstein concert. I just can recommend you to try to get tickets, i swear you will enjoy the best live show ever ever ever!
because of copyright troubles
You should react to 2012 Montreal live "bück dich"
React to Rammstein - Mann gegen Mann live from Paris
Sonne live, but in Moscow luznhiki stadium.
You need to check out the official video of this song.
It was released 10.9.2001.. And .. well .. when you watch it, you most likely will understand why it was "banned" quite fast.
Great video, great song, wrong time but hey... Rammstein is about making you face your fears and things you do not like to face.
RAMMSTEIN! :D
In a church, that's known as "call and response".
Heyy i like your stuff and i am new here on your channel. You should really make a video of the metal band BMTH. Have you heard the new album?? Damnn its amazing!!
I give this a 13 out of 10! :`)

React to Rammstein "Feuer frei!" (Open fire!). React to the Download Festival 2013 Live Video.
(fire at will)
@@bartuutgrunn622 German equivalent anyway. Literally "Fire freely", but yes in English the command is fire at will.
The reason or the way the Till more got invented, was at a gig, his knee went out of joint, while on stage, and he actually hammered it back in place while performing, the crowd thought it was a part of the show, and they loved it.. Since then it has been their trademark so to say.. Sabaton front man has copied it as well..
My favorite performace of 'Ich Will' by far. You might like the song 'Spring', they've never performed it live but there is a really good fan-made video here ua-cam.com/video/zjxR4Uzjq8o/v-deo.html give it a try if you fancy.

Pls React to "Reise Reise - Live from Hell Festival" :D
Can you pls react to the Live performance from "Armee der Tristen" and "Zick Zack" from 2022
I think the lyrics are much deeper. Rammstein is mix of metal and electronic music with an industrial feeling. Many industrial bands have a special realshionship to fashim. This song shows how you can control a crowd by giving them a good feeling. And when you compare this performance to a speach of Hitler, you see that the crowd reacts equal. Remember the verse: "we want you to trust to us" and "we want you to belive us".
Yes, you can compare Trump's audience. I don't think Hitler is a good example, since there was no television and so on back then. There was only the newsreel in the cinema. This was already provided by the Nazis.
React to Scar Symmetry - The Kaleidoscopic God. Won’t regret it
