The song is irony in itself. Do not glorify anyone, do not trust anyone who says trust me and does not follow anyone who stands in front of you and claims to be in possession of the truth. A little mass psychology experiment.

4:02 Till's problem with "not understanding" isn't that he can't hear people, it's because he can't comprehend why they're going along with it.

Being a perfectionist myself, one of the many, many, many things that I appreciate about Rammstein (which really is everything!) is their precision in everything they do. In this video, as well as others, I was noticing how the pyrotechnics are perfect. They go off at the perfect time. Whether it's to a drumbeat, a guitar chord or someone's movement, it's perfect. It's the details, man!
Also, if you want something a little different from Till, check out Mathematik from Till's side project. It's a different gendre than he normally does, but he puts his unique spin on it.
Thanks for all the reviews. I really enjoy them! Especially the Rammstein ones!

there is a brilliance behind the "i don't understand you" (they mention this in interviews)
It is at first glance a call to the audience to reply back (do it louder!), but the second meaning is the singer not understanding "why are you doing this? why are you giving me all this power? i dont understand you (what you are doing)"
Rammstein has a thing for double entendres like that

    Some Fun-Facts regarding Rammstein:
The band was founded in Berlin in 1994. So, this has been after the reunion of West-Germany (FRG) and the former socialistic East-Germany (GDR) in 1990. All of Rammsteins current band members are coming from the former GDR (German Democratic Republic) and SOME of the band members were playing in two Punk bands during the existence and after the fall of the GDR: "Feeling B" and "Die Firma".
Die Firma (engl. the Company) has been the nickname of the former Staatssicherheitsdienst (Stasi = State Security Service) that has been spying on and arresting people for (mostly political) crimes. And Punkbands were a popular target for the Stasi due to anarchistic and subversive speeches and actions. The band "Die Firma" existed from 1983 to 1993, two of the band members later joined Rammstein: Paul Landers and Christoph Schneider. A very delicate background story of "Die Firma": The founder of the band, Frank "Troetsch" Troeger, has been an "unofficial staffer" (=spy) of the Stasi.
Feeling B existed from 1983 to 1993 too. The original band name should have been "Feeling Berlin". As there already has been a band with the same name in Berlin, they had to redefine the band name. All of Feeling B's albums are pure punk with exeption of the last one in 1993: Die Maske des roten Todes (Mask of the red dead). With this one they mixed up medieval songs with rock. So, they have been pioneers of the medieval rock genre. 3 of todays Rammstein band members also played in "Feeling B": Paul Landers, Christoph Schneider and Christian "Flake" Lorenz.

      @annegretkasten6277 Рік тому

But Schneider was only a guest drummer there. He didn't like it either and left the band. He also didn't want Paul to be admitted. But Kruspe and Till prevailed. They came to Berlin from Schwerin, a city on the Baltic Sea. Paul was already very well connected in Berlin. 😊

To me, this song is always about how easy it is to manipulate the masses. He does not even tell them what they should believe in but they just answer that they are with him. The song is fantastic but it's also pretty scary.
We like to judge people who trust in dictators but Rammstein are showing the crowd how easy it is for them to control the audience.
I've seen that live multiple times. It always gives me chills when the audience responses to him. Great piece of art.

Germanic languages are naturally very similar, quasi dialects. This of course also includes the English language (Anglo-Saxons). Anglo-Saxon, term used historically to describe any member of the Germanic peoples who, from the 5th century CE to the time of the Norman Conquest (1066), inhabited and ruled territories that are today part of England and Wales.

Is there a certain reason everybody who reacts to Rammstein uses only old video material? Why is nobody react to songs of their 2019 tour? The stage is so much bigger, the audience here in germany was unbelievable, the pyro is above everything! Try to find some 2019 material, their are even videos of the complete Moskau or Berlin gig available on YT made by fans for the fans.
Talking above this song here, I was at 10-12 Rammstein concerts, and they can't leave the stage without playing this song. The interaction between them and the audience is breathtaking on this song. Can you imagine standing in a crowd of 70000 people and Till is singen "Can you feel me" and all of them singing "We feel you" as if from one mouth? Man, those moments makes the tickets worth any price to pay. You can't leave this world without beeing on a Rammstein concert. I just can recommend you to try to get tickets, i swear you will enjoy the best live show ever ever ever!

@@bartuutgrunn622 German equivalent anyway. Literally "Fire freely", but yes in English the command is fire at will.

The reason or the way the Till more got invented, was at a gig, his knee went out of joint, while on stage, and he actually hammered it back in place while performing, the crowd thought it was a part of the show, and they loved it.. Since then it has been their trademark so to say.. Sabaton front man has copied it as well..

I think the lyrics are much deeper. Rammstein is mix of metal and electronic music with an industrial feeling. Many industrial bands have a special realshionship to fashim. This song shows how you can control a crowd by giving them a good feeling. And when you compare this performance to a speach of Hitler, you see that the crowd reacts equal. Remember the verse: "we want you to trust to us" and "we want you to belive us".

Yes, you can compare Trump's audience. I don't think Hitler is a good example, since there was no television and so on back then. There was only the newsreel in the cinema. This was already provided by the Nazis.
