All Planets in the Solar System with Astromaster 130EQ

- Disclaimer: If you are planning on buying this telescope, this video was to demonstrate the best abilities of this telescope and to show that cheap, beginner telescopes can still get excellent pictures of our solar system. I would not expect to get images like this if you are a beginner, and most of the objects shown in the video would be near impossible to see just with the mount and eyepieces the telescope comes with. This is why I listed the extra equipment I used, because most of the objects were much better off imaged using tracking mounts and barlow lens. This doesn't mean you still can't see good views with the telescope, but it doesn't mean everything will look amazing either.

Your video is benchmark for my 130eq. Thank you for making this.
Great video, I've owned this telescope for over 10 years now and seeing Saturn through it for the first time will forever be one of my best memories with it. It is an absolutely awesome beginner telescope and enables you to learn HOW to find stuff up there, don't just jump straight into a Goto mount, learn how to navigate the sky first. great vid, 100% back everything said.
May I know if it is possible to see galaxy and nebulas?? Thanks a lot like if it is for stargazing will this be a good telescope to go for thanks.
@@ericaroundtheworld it's absolutely possible with the right optics and environment. A bit of after effects knowhow i.e stacking images etc it's possible. Deep space objects are no easy task though. Big learning curve.
Do you recommend this for a total beginner? Do I have to buy also other lenses to see Saturn?
@@capwillard9156 the astromaster 130eq is great for beginners. It has a motor to follow objects if you've aligned it properly. You will be able to see Saturn and it's rings with the optics that comes with it no problem. Don't expect science book level detail though, if you are lucky and the conditions are right, you will see a small orange circle with a ring around it. You might see the shadow of the planet on the ring which will add more definition. It is still an absolutely amazing sight to see and you never get bored of it. 100% recommend it if that's your budget. A go-to mounted telescope is more friendly for beginners, again if your budget stretches that far. Mine didn't lol but I was very happy with the astro.
@@Danvito13 thanks for the reply, that's exactly what I am looking for!

Yes we are all from the same big family, we come from the heart of the stars, by stellar nucleosynthesis. It's amazing and fascinating when you think about it.
May I know if it is possible to see galaxy and nebulas?? Thanks a lot like if it is for stargazing will this be a good telescope to go for thanks.
In 1973 I bought a telescope off my cousin for 20.$ it was a 300x refractor scope. We were visiting them in Tampa, Fl. For the Christmas holiday. That night I set it up in their back yard. The first sighting I ever sighted was Saturn. She saw that and started cursing me. “I’ve never been able to see a planet, and you get one on the first try.” I LMAO at her. I enjoyed it for another 5 years, then sold it to a good friend for twice what I bought it for. 🤣 I love looking up, 50 years since.
sounds like a great time i also remenber my first time seeing saturn amazing

You’re amazing guy , thank you very much ! Super nice video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Sucess my friend
don't forget to mention that you use an 800$ EQ mount with post processed images. For a person with no clue what the difference between visual and astrophotography is this video is totally misleading!
Stick a $1700 CMOS camera on this and it is like a telescope with a telescope if you have vast wealth. Lot of people using cameras to boost their telescope capability. But, I would not call a 130ST at f/5 a beginner telescope. A 10 in cassegrain at higher focal length is running at f/10, which is nice depth of field for bird watching. A 130EQ is running at f/8 or half the light gathering of the 130ST. Stacking software is made for objects where it can fetch edges as reference points. Stacking fuzzy rings of saturn does not work from attempts I have seen. It is not stacking, it is the signal to noise ratio that is important. Low signal just introduces more noise as you stack so things stay out of focus.
Thank you 😂 …I got that scope but none of the plant looks like in this video…the moon is actually cool but the others a bit hard to focus to be clear
@@claudiumoldovan1871 i think the location also matters. A clear sky can bring this images
@@donaldkasper8346 not like a telescope with a telescope, its just a good cmos sensor, no optics. You could screw on a DSLR instead or mount a mobile phone camera with a cheap adapter. Learn to stack with free software. Its fun.
And @oriwan, it comes with an eq mount included in the price.

Good one.. Looking ahead more videos. I use celestron 8 to view here in India
Nice one ☺ I have the Celestron Nexstar Evolution 9.25" which i've owned since December 2014 👌 i've had no issues at all with this telescope 👓🎓 here are some of my captures...

Can u suggest me some good telescope within 50k ...I m planning to buy and I m beginner
@@bhavikmerchant3136 the Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 127AZ is a pretty nice telescope to start off with 👌🔭
Nice job. Some muppet critics .... but it's the internet. That's to be expected.
Thanks for posting!
I was able to capture the Orion Nebula with a similar telescope. I used a 100mm Orion reflector dobsonian with a fl of 400mm with a 10mm eyepiece with my i phone camera to capture the images

Do u have a photo. Which one did u get ?? Sorry I am looking for a gift for my friend and I. So confused despsite I have read and watch countless videos . Does this one u own very heavy and bulky ?? Recommend any telescope that can see galaxy and nebulas?? Planets i have heard it is a few different telescope to do the job. What do u think? Thanks appreciate it
I bet you're glad they reclassified Pluto
awesome
Did you see that thing moving in the second video of the moon???? Amazing
"Random star" is my favorite moon of Saturn😃
Awesome, can you explain how and what to use to get images like this. Really interested my son wants to be an astronomer he’s 7. But I’m not to savvy with this kind of things so far I’ve only gotten the moon.
How powerful of an eyepiece did you use on Neptune? That is awesome!
What I would suggest is spend 90% of your budget on the mount. You'd probably get great photos with a $50 scope on a $1,000 mount.
1:01 the Eagle still has wings!
Hello, wonderful video, especially the moon, with a lot of detail. As for the planets, I am not very convinced, my friend. In order to see the planets in more detail, what is the appropriate telescope? Thank you very much.❤
Is the photography of the planets possible with a manual EQ mount? ( I am asking this as you have mentioned the mount as EQM35 which is a goto mount).
Also can we mount a 150mm reflector on a goto mount.
Kindly reply.
It would be difficult with a manual eq mount
But still you can do something with it

Your video is awesome as it clearly explains what is possible with this kind of entry level telescope. Can you see or photo any nebula?
I'm pretty sure you can if you get an astrnomy map for a certain month you could maybe see a galaxy/nebula im not sure
visually, you can still see some deep sky objects but they aren't very impressive (I've only tested it under heavy light pollution though) but you can definitely photo them, it's just hard finding a camera which can fit on the telescope and using a tracking mount is more preferable. I'm sure you could see a lot of deep sky objects with it under low light pollution.

@Juan Pablo Bejarano damn now that got me excited lol
Yes. Andromeda Galaxy (M31), and Orion Nebula (M42) can be seen and photographed in a smaller diameter telescope. Depending on where you live, you may not get impressive views of them, considering light pollution. I'm lucky enough to live in an area with very low light pollution. I do have a 70mm telescope, which is about a third in area as the 130. You won't see them in color, however, as they are still too dim for the color receptors in the eye. But they will show some color in photos. M31 not so much. And you won't get Hubble-quality photos either. For that, you need a mirror at least 8 feet in diameter.
Can you see nebula and galaxy with the telescope?
The ISS looks like an astronaut. But anyway, that's beautiful
Genesis 1:16 “ He made the stars also. “
I've got one of these OTAs. It's kind of piggy in the middle so i don't use it for much. IMO it's not really a good scope for imaging. Better for visual observing.

thanks for the video review look at 1:05 minute down conner left of the moon you will see coming up round shape object between 1:05 to 1:08
I noticed it too. Good observation.
It's SpaceX's Starman.
Thank u so so so so so so so much !! May I know if it is possible to see galaxy and nebulas?? Thanks a lot like if it is for stargazing will this be a good telescope to go for thanks.
What eyepiece were you using when you used the 3x Barlow? The smallest (most powerful) one?
Probably a 4, 6, 8, or 10mm eyepiece ☺ I have the Celestron Nexstar Evolution 9.25" which i've owned since December 2014 👌 i've had no issues at all with this telescope 👓🎓 here are some of my captures...

Hey did you notice that in the second picture of the moon a black object pass on the left corner take a look or what donyou think it is…
Do you think that it would be a good telescope to start with? Maybe some little astrophotograpyy too? Ty
Through which telescope i can c other galaxies like Andromeda lear images ?
To get this to actually look good you have you to an $800 mount because the mount is too shaky and a $200 astronomy camera along with software.
i have a gskyer 70 mm can i still see those stuff if so should i use a barlow lens with a 25 eye piece or a barlow with a 10 eye piece
Can you see the moon clear and bright as this picture with this telescope starter kit?
can you see some nebulas or galaxies too? like andromeda galaxy?
Do you use filters for the photos?plus thes photos are amaizing.I will buy the telescope.I dont care how much is it cost.I WILL BUY IT
