He seemed so depressed as if the recent accident was a blow he isn’t sure he can recover from. This gift may motivate him and give him renewed hope. It will be interesting to see follow up next year. I haven’t cried this year until this video. I well understand what it will mean to this gentleman to be able to go almost anywhere - not just on handicapped accessible paths to hunt. And it’s not just in the area of hunting and outdoor sports that secret Santa has changed this man’s life. What a joy this video was to see. I thought I was safe until he pulled the paper out of the second box, when he teared up so did I. I'm just amazed he said he can still do things like horseback riding, water skiing, and more.
As a fellow San Diegan, I have to agree! I'm so excited because right now the City of Coronado is working to replace their own all terrain power wheelchair available for public use at the lifeguard tower. Hopefully it will be available by Christmas. Can't wait to get back out and explore the seaside with my family and friends. Independence is such a priceless gift!
As someone in a power wheelchair who was recently nearly hit in a crosswalk, crossing with the light--I can only say he's endured one of my worst nightmares. I'm so grateful he survived. I'm also so grateful he's going to have the all terrain wheelchair, it will be a game changer in Idaho! I'm so happy for him!! I lived in Rexburg for 2 years before I was in a chair and cannot even imagine navigating the ice and slush in a chair. He may prefer to use it anytime he leaves the house. It will allow him to leave the house safely when it's frozen and slushy. He'll also have such an easier time navigating lose gravel, pot holes and muddy areas. Thank you Secret Santa for giving him the priceless gift of independence!!
This poor guy, but at least he seems to keep his spirits up! So glad SS is able to help him out so tremendously... that will definitely let him get around a lot more easily and do what he enjoys!

Yes it will be. There are so many that could use one but when the starting price for the cheap ones is $10k and $40k for a very nice one that you can drive seating in your wheelchair. They are out of most people price range and insurance will not even think about helping. I done a lot of looking at these tracked wheelchair over the passed years. So glad that he is getting one.

When I think about stuff like this happening to me, I think about how I would just give up and end my life. This guy is so resilient and strong. You can tell he’s the definition of a survivor. I’m a Chef and I wanted to quit so many times out of frustration and then one day we had this new chef in our kitchen and she’s blind. I don’t know how she does it but she can cook ANY PERSON I KNOW under the table. Including me. I’ve been formally trained. Degree in Culinary arts and everything as she hasn’t. It amazes me how some humans keep on going when you think you have it bad yourself. So inspirational. I wish I could send this guy more on top of what he received. My boyfriend would probably pay for and makeover his home if he wanted. Merry Christmas to him and Secret Santa. Xoxo

I came across these secret Santa vids the last yr of December and I watched every single vid they have. The feeling of joy and relief I received from just watching is wow. It is so nice (peaceful) that there are still people who want to share their blessings with people who are in need and I respect those people who are humble to accept the fact that they need help ( I've seen people whose egos are as big as their who knows and really don't want to ask for help.. saving their pride). Pay it forward, doesn't need to be big as long as it comes from your heart. I was in grade school and my teacher asked us to donate some of our toys and my teacher said donate your one toy but not the toy that you don't like anymore or that is old instead donate your toy has more love in it. We were like how can we know? My teacher said if it hurts giving out that particular toy then that's the one. It means it is precious to you and you want somebody to receive that love and care you gave for that toy.
So sad that he had a second accident that took away his life dependant chair. So wonderful of Secret Santa to pay to customise a new chair for him. I have a good friend who was hurt in a snowmobile accident and is now paralyzed from chest down. He is also an avid hunter and sportsman. This story hit home and made me want to go to my friend Dannys house just to help a little. Wish I could do something like this for him, but sometimes a hug and conversation can be a great substitute. Lets remember how crazy and quick life can be and change. Nice job....
