    Leutra is no joke! I be made brews in my garage using it, and around 90F in there during the day. I have seen fermentations finish in just over 24 hours. And since they are happy at that temperature, no off flavors. Could be why the Leutra batch tastes tue way it does. It also is known to enhance fruit flavors.

    New to brewing! My question just to make sure I’m on the same page you only poured half the bottle of water into the kettle to heat and melt the sugars right? Is using RO water okay even if only half is boiled?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  2 місяці тому

      Hi, yes I only heated up about half the jug of RO water. Just enough to melt the sugars. I use RO since I know that it should be clean and free of bacteria. Also it's harder to make a very clear seltzer when using tap water. Cheers

    Just another reason for a mini 360 regulator and Sodastream tank. Carbonate at a different psi without issue.

    I couldn’t catch it, did you clarify it with bio fine or similar product or is that oh-natural?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  Місяць тому

      I can't remember but I would have either used kieselsol/chitosan before kegging or biofine in the keg. Cheers

    I have been strictly drinking seltzer's lately, I am definitely going to be trying to homebrew some! Is there any way to know what the calorie count is?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  Рік тому +1

      Most of the Cal will come from the alcohol itself. I looked at some Cal calculators online and it seems like there would be around 125 calories per 355 ml. Roughly ten calories will be from carbs and the rest is from alcohol.

    Hi, great video. I've never used Leutra, but I'll give it a try for home brew seltzer. Question...is it possible to just add the flavouring to the keg?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  Рік тому

      Yes you can add flavoring to the keg. I kegged it unflavored just so i could test many flavors off of the same batch. Cheers

    would you stay away from bottle conditioning seltzers?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  Рік тому

      They should still turn out fine. Just keep in mind that there will be sediment in each bottle so pour them slowly if you want the seltzer to be clear in your glass. Or just use an opaque glass and rdwhahb :P

    All right so I gonna go with a cup and a quarter of sugar .white sugar .I thinkva teaspoon of champagne yeast.? I'm going to put it in my Sous vide at 72f .I'm going to go 10 to 12 days I'm looking for about you know 16 to 18% I'll flip it in burp it everyday. I'm thinking I should go about 10 to 13 days? 2 liter bottle.

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  2 місяці тому +1

      That should work but I've never heard of or tried fermenting using sous vide. Just make sure it's properly cleaned and sanitized I guess :P Cheers

      @@graintoglass right on brother. I'm using the sous vide as temperature maintenance . I'm using 2 litter bottles as the actual vessels. They're sitting in the sous vide at 72f covered with a towel to keep any light out. It's working out pretty good. They're foamy and burpable Every morning. I'm going 12 to 14 days. I'll let you know how it works out. So far so good. Thanks for responding 😀. The science of it is fascinating.

    How would you do a seltzer by combining Vodka and carbonated water on a keg? What would the process for this seltzer look like?

    • @graintoglass
      @graintoglass  10 місяців тому

      You would mix roughly 2.25 liters of vodka with 15.75 liters of water and then add in your flavoring and carbonate it. This would give you roughly 18 liters of seltzer at %5 abv. Cheers
