Unlike most of the legendary musicians from his era, he said he never got into drugs or alcohol. He said he thinks that’s why he can remember stories and songs while his contemporaries can’t remember much about what I think is the best era in the history of popular music
Yeah my 90 year old dad who's been a tea totaler all his life has a lot better memory than I, are fairly heavy drinker since my early 20s, do at 60. Granted my 92 year old mom, also a tea totaler, doesn't have a very good memory either. Might be as much genetic as well as drug use.
Leland is so good that if he had the wrong song in mind in the set list, he'd hear the first note and start playing whatever the correct song really was next and we'd never know he had the wrong song in mind.
I grew up listening to Capital Radio - “Such a good way to make your day!” - during the 1970s and many of the jingles and station idents were produced by David Dundas, and Roger Greenaway and his chums Roger Cook and Madeline Bell. Lord Dundas (he really is a Lord) earned a living making catchy tunes for advertising slogans, which were then turned into commercial singles. Jeans On and Where Were You Today? are the best-known examples.
I’m starting to see a little of the grief he sometimes gets from other players … teasing probably. He’s just so head and shoulders above the rest on his instrument. Unflappable. Always on the mark. Long May you run, Sir.
Oh, I remember “Jeans On” from the 70s. I’ve even got it on one of those “as seen on TV” various artists Ronco VINYL records I bought in maybe Woolworth’s or KMart (we had never heard of Walmart yet) or some store like that back then. It had a lot of cool songs on it. Clicked on it just to hear this take on it. I love what you two do with covers!
You two are a pure match, music that is,Love all your work together.Judith, you are one lucky gal to have one of the best bass runners behind you..Keep it up and keep those old Lee jeans clean,if ya can..
Utterly gorgeous. I realize this was recorded a few years ago, but keep them coming, once this pandemic allows us to be truly connected. This was delightful.
your songs are amazing - Mrs. Judith, can I have the bass line for 5 songs ?: - Jeans on - In the summertime / blackbird - Aquarius - Hot stuff - More than this best greetings from Poland
This is fab. Great voice, great groove. By the way, what's the story with the bass in the background? It's the same shape as Scott LaFaro's famous bass.
my wife is looking At me all crazy, because I’m playing the cups saucers and plates on the table. Somehow, without Pedro, there’s a world of percussive possibility you’ve laid out for all to see, or really, hear whew - my jeans are swaying to your groove, y’all
I’m always amazed at Lee’s ability to retain every song form in his head.
Unlike most of the legendary musicians from his era, he said he never got into drugs or alcohol. He said he thinks that’s why he can remember stories and songs while his contemporaries can’t remember much about what I think is the best era in the history of popular music
@@tannertuner that would make sense to me. My mind has still retained most things and I've really only smoked weed, not much of anything else

I grew up with this song since it was released in 1977. But this is by far the best version. I love it!

Ronco, a fine production company. But, don't discount the brilliant productions of K-Tell... Shipping and handling not included.
Philip Klug Ronco is the same guy who later came out with the spray paint to cover your bald spots.
