Beautiful sounding 60 Strat. Beautiful playing and selection by Ms Petrilli! Great tones from that guitar and certainly complimented by Angela's playing!
Wonderful playing, and that guitar delivers it big time. It's so clear that you can hear all the harmonic detail up top while the mids and bass tones are solid, clear, and crisp. Beautiful, musical sound. 1960 slab board rosewood Stratocaster in 3-color sunburst. To me, there is nothing better. And though I'll never have the $$$ to buy one -- my 2001 CS 1960 is as close as I'll get -- I think guitars like this are actually good value. You're getting the best there is.
Probably won't believe me, but anyway.. I bought this guitar (with dad's help) in 72, when I was 15, from my teacher Paul Cowie in San Diego. Paul was a prominent player in town with a band named King Biscuit. He offered it to me for $250. It was already a little beat up but I loved it. Had it maybe 5 yrs and sold it to a student of mine for $300 to buy a ES-125 while studying with Peter Sprague, a local jazz player not much older than me. It took a good cymbal hit behind the bridge once that I recognized before she even pulled it out of the case. When she holds it up, it's near her thumb. The black in the burst was a lot more than other strats I'd seen, and I really liked it. The other dents and dings are very familiar to me except the huge scratch on the back. After my time. As far as the decal..this is embarrassing. My older brother had a piece of shit Teisco bass, a brand from Japan we all made fun of, and I had the brilliant idea of sticking the metal "Teisco" emblem over the decal as a joke. Left it on there for a while and when I removed it, it pulled off the last R in Fender along with the "STRATOCASTER" part of the decal. I felt like a dumbshit and wondered if it would hurt the value. Hahaha With the advent of the internet I've search for years for that decal on a too dark burst. Bout shit when I saw this. Amazed that it survived intact, many didn't. My working theory is that my student kept it all these years and perhaps passed or finally decided to sell it. Not a bad profit. 😂 Anyway, I swear this is true, and beat up guitars are like faces. I definitely remember this face along with the mello pickups. My 3rd guitar but my 1st 'real' one. Cut my teeth on it. While a 'one that got away' story, you wouldn't believe the joy I felt seeing it again unscathed for the most part. It will live long past me. Hope this relieves your skepticism, it is the real deal. Miss my old friend. ❤
You sounded so great on that Strat so I freaking COMPOSED a nice long clever comment, everything just SO and Bloody UA-cam ate it... Well, my ego may've gotten smushed but your beautiful epic GOTD demo lives on (!)
i have a strat that i put together for less than 500 that sounds as good as that and plays like a dream. only problem is that it is not 60 years old, then again i'm gone 70 so that evens things out.
It's funny you chose this guitar today as I was doing a deep dive listen to Rory Gallagher today. He really was fantastic guitar player. I'd argue the best strat player. Y'all shoulda played this beautiful axe through a Vox.
Angela, put some money down on it, get a contract from norm, and pay it off... you're a young gal, lots time you have, and I promise you eventually you would own that baby......
Angela presents this strat very positive. Very cool, nice playing, however, I must be honest and it sounds as a modern Strat. The only thing is the age of this Strat and the mojo on it that makes this thing special. Not soundwise in my honest opinion.
I’m thinking them old guitar sound good because they lose their magnetism partly so the magnets are not as hot so that Guitar wouldn’t be any good for heavy-metal, but I don’t play that kind of music anyway im a lefty looking at that same color for a made in Mexico 2
Thanks for having me! It is always such an honor to guest host GOTD. What a gift to get to play that guitar! ❤❤
Great guitar. Angela is a real player. Very talented.
Beautiful sounding 60 Strat. Beautiful playing and selection by Ms Petrilli! Great tones from that guitar and certainly complimented by Angela's playing!
Angela and this guitar are a perfect match
I’ll watch anything that Angela does. She’s gifted and seems really relatable. Awesome strat, it’s vibey!

What a beautiful tone.
Angela, you absolute LEGEND! Just killing here on Norms (as usual), and holy CATS what a guitar! Great to see you here, lady 🙏🏻❤🔥
Nothing better than being weathered and loved in all the right ways
Only a fantastic player like her deserves such an incredible guitar.
Always a pleasure to see and hear Angela play ! Great Strat ! Thanks Jen !
Great show! (1959 and 60 are my favorite two years). This one sounds so warm yet clear.....
Beautiful guitar. Warm, resonant, funky, bluesy. Wouldn't mind throwing down a few riffs down on baby.
Gifted artist 👏
I mean this as a compliment. Angela’s guitar skills have measurably improved since returning to GOTD. Smooth and soulful. Kudos!
Awesome sound, awesome songs, awesome player
Angela knows exactly how to demo what a Strat was made to do ❤😊
Soooo good sound 😊
Angelia, love the song selection... perfect playing as well.
You and the "STRAT, sound anazing ANGELA
That Is a fine sounding Strat. Of course Angela, the perfectionist, makes it sound even slinkier. ( is that a word? )
That was amazing! Angela I wish I could see more of you playing this masterpiece!
Wow, Angela you should own that Strat! Cheers from HB NZ
That Yellow Ledbetter 👌👌👌
I was born in 1960 and would love to have that birth year Strat

One arm.
One leg.
Your reproductive organs. . . . .
It's on Norms Reverb page
Mega Playing Angela 🤘🤘
Burst looks funky, & where’s the Stratocaster on the headstock?
Probably won't believe me, but anyway..

I love the amount of black paint on the body
I drooled, then I drooled again!!
That was amazing! Great songs

Beautiful girl and guitar. Love the Sheryl Crow song.
As Always, Nice Work Angela! WooF!!🐶🐶
You sounded so great on that Strat so I freaking COMPOSED a nice long clever
comment, everything just SO and Bloody UA-cam ate it...
Well, my ego may've gotten smushed but your beautiful epic GOTD demo lives on (!)
Great guitar and playin!
Angela can tune a guitar much more accurately and play more cleanly than any of the so-called more famous men on these YTs. She's genuinely talented.
Awesome sound.
Angela is in love! 🤭🎸🥳
Very Well Done.
Love Angela 🤍
Sounds oooo so good!🎶🎸👍
Brava Angela 🇮🇹
Awesome
Sheryl Crowe,...and Angela,...perfect Match!
C'mon waay out of Ms. Crow's league. Angela rocks
Great job !
And she plays SRV and Pearl Jam!
Yeah, I was pretty bewitched by her chops, but then she broke into "My Favorite Mistake."
Oh, my God. I don't have the words ...🥰🥰🥰
Hell yeah
Cool guitar

Nothing finer that watching a good looking young lady playing SRV riffs to near perfection on a vintage strat.
I was born Feb 28 - 1960 , Do I get a big discount on this amazing Stratocaster . ?
Wonderful guitar ... anyway.
This guitar sounds so much better than my strat copy🎸…..mine must be broken or something.🤔😝
Really good, Status Quo from the uk know how to play the strat.
Nice guitar and playing! Position ONE is at the bridge, though ...
Wow ! She's great, I want her to teach me..😊 I hope she has a Twitter account ! 😂 I want a Strat now.. 😢😊😂
I was more into Les Paul lately
You could almost feel Angela melting over that Stratocaster through the lens.
Petrilli for GOTD
Preople always snub the middle prickup... But see??? It's the most bralanced pickrup on the statocastle... So...
Nice job, I think your playing has improved...
#AngelaPetrilli needs some of those new brass #BulletSlides.
👍✌❤😎
Ive got a partcaster Id like to find someone who can beat mine for weight 5.5lbs with a 70s neck big headstock, I dunno why strats have to be so heavy
Where is Lemo
It's funny you chose this guitar today as I was doing a deep dive listen to Rory Gallagher today. He really was fantastic guitar player. I'd argue the best strat player. Y'all shoulda played this beautiful axe through a Vox.
Bella/Linda.💍✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️
What kind of pickups does it have?
My guess is they are stock pickups
Back in the Agnesi days, he would mention what pickups were on the guitar.
Fender
She's a player
Right….3 position switch.
A little Hendrix.
👍🤠🤘🍻🎸🏞️🌄

It almost sounds like there‘s a comp on the guitar 😅
There is, angelas right hand, lol
From the camera, been squashing for years.
Angela, I absolutely love your playing but it just seems like such a waste not to play a beautiful instrument like that using gain.
🙏🕊️❤️
obligatory Strativersary comment but still only 3 switch a bit.
less beat up than lots them custy shop ones.
Jenn did you think you might want to know what you are looking at instead of constantly asking like a 4 year old child.
Just a suggestion
Why do Americans have to shout at each other when they talk and exaggerate everything?
How come your Strat has a maple board instead of that slab of rosewood ? That shirt is hideous. Teacher.
She said in the in beginning that it's a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard.
You all are very talented, but I'm sick of these strats
Nice
