@@kickassandchewbubblegum639 that was pre-alpha. There are videos on YT about SC2 alpha, and it looked ass. Stormgate is pre-alpha, a stage before that. Like what were you expecting?
The hell are you talking about games for kids? Maxpax started playing SC2 at 8 yrs old. Clem started at age 10. The next generation of pros comes from children playing. Adults don't (and can't) break into the pro scene because it's too complex and fast.
Look at you talking about slower and dumber for kids as if you can beat the teenage pros of SC2. Even the upcoming pros that aren't even of legal age can beat three of you at the same time. What's with this elitist snobbery? You know you don't amount to anything.

They also understood WC3 was too slow, so they intentionally designed it so if your not watching a fight as it starts, but then look at it, you still have a chance, rather than in how sc2 you might tab over and no longer have an army, or in wc3 the fight hadn't even really started
In fact, there was a tournament game where they accidentally set it to fast rather than faster, and it had made it so micro was far more important, while keeping a good pace, so I think stormgate will be great

Knowing how Artosis usually is in his streams, it was amazing to see how patiently he played this out.
I wouldn't hate him so much if he just acted like a normal person. His on stream persona is so easy to hate. Such an awful way to be, I don't know why he chooses that as his image.
Actually he's kinda getting better (and by better I mean less "Omg this is actual human trash") - probably that sweet sweet canadian air is doing him good.

This is the game to watch when you need to curb your desire to play SC2
As an elderly Gold level player I can tell you there rarely are banelings at that level.
There are a lot of guys who do speedlings all the time and have gotten the build down so that it is very hard to stop.
While we can chastise the skill level and sportsmanship of those who do the same builds almost all the time it works. You get good at it eventually.
Glorious. If that Terran was just a random ladder player and didn't BM at the end it would have been a 10/10 game.

Wasteful tactics aside, the terran made that game very entertaining. Really kept Arty busy, and those widow mines were hilarious.

It was fun to watch, but I dont enjoy these kind of games. The thing is its given that the player using those weird strategies will be a smurf, because with similar micro/macro he would have no chance to pull this off. If they would be regular players really playing their best and being at that league, im ok with that, but imho it doesnt happen. I play a strategy game to play my best, no matter how good or bad im objectively. These guys im pretty sure in their brains will say if they loose a game " oh yeah but i never played it seriously", because they couldnt take a "real" loss to their fragile ego. IF they win, they are all happy thinking" hehe im so awesome I won, even tough im not even playing seriously". for me there is something slimy here. Florencio might be the one player of this kind with more or less healtyh approach, he doesnt seem to smurf.
We can only hope that Florencio's next batch of replays includes this one.

I would have expected Artosis to have all the best recent builds considering he professionally casts SC2. He wouldn't have all the APM stuff, but the actual build orders and knowing about timing should be easy for him.
his sc2 commentation has been terrible for years. He just doesnt care about sc2 and doesn't have the knowledge anymore. Hes good at filling air but he doesnt give any extra insight into builds and timings that other commentators do
@@Hephera this 100% I love artosis but he hasn't been current with sc2 in years. I didn't notice just how bad it was until we got State. State is not as good as artosis but he at least is trying to keep up with the meta

I wonder whether that terran was playing some sort of challenge. I mean it looked like as if he was harassing with every unit type there is, not combining them. He had widow mines in the mineral lines that just wouldn't trigger on the probes, but wait for units.

thats what I like about medivac perimeter push you get free corner checks with your pathing, for like 14-15 seconds later... But because your not flying the Hypotenuse, your flying the Ajacent and opposite... well you see how it is, you cna calculate your time quickly with this also... travel time, has a a single fraction count, so in your head you can jsut add your hypotenuse travel aprox, and know your right angel travel time or the opposite... its roughly a few secodns and scales up the larger the triangle is obviously.
Motivational banners - always build probes, and a rule of thumb in any game is reflection time. So I look at hte clock as a mental memory machine, to trigger me. Meaning that I put thing in my head, like each base have detection at 6 minutes unless I have mobile detection. Rule of thumbs based on what I am playing itsalso dependent on context if knwo what they are doing then I delay till 9 minutes. Static detection saves your brain. 15 minutes, you should have map control vibe of vision to whereever you can... so this game, he should be scouting everywhere at 15 minutes and then keep vision on thoe mid expansion points because you should be consuming them in the next 3 minutes so you want ot atleast be observing them.. of course early rushes delay everything, but another rule of thumb is if your proxzied and survive, you always send army, to punished and then send a probe out that most liekly expands and hten checks on corner, and then goes across to the other corner, but does your 3rd on teh way back perfect itming usually, and then the other corner leave a building if needed.. but yeah...

I've played many times against this terran strat, this seems a legit strat honestly, I've played so many I couldn't count.

This type of terran is the absolute most annoying thing on ladder to me, way more than any skytoss turtle could be. When I end up playing a terran like this it's always the last game of the day for me, regardless of whether I win or not. I end up grumbling to myself that "I should uninstall this stupid piece of shit game already" and quit for that day.

It's like the opposite of sieging tanks in S.C.I where he grabs the mass and just 'UNLOAD HERE' - 'but the struts from out tank are going to crush the tracks on another tank & vice verse commander', 'Arty doesn't have time to set us up... so get the damn struts out'!

Okay not gonna lie, I came back to this game in about 2022 from last having played in 2012 or earlier as a plat player. I placed diamond after having played rts's for about a week. I did not touch a single rts for a decade and placed higher than I did ever in WoL. The avg skill has fallen off a cliff. Very top tier pros are certainly better, the average playerbase though, is dogshit.

Just FYI, but Nova Scotia JUST had wild fires. The smoke obliterated the air quality in a lot of eastern Canada for a few days because of it. Don't worry, it's no longer only Australia that's always on fire... now it's everywhere :D

SC2's tee-ball mechanics keeps from large skill gaps like we see in BW... In BW a person would NEVER lose to someone several ranks below them, regardless of what they did. Cheese or not.

@10:22 dude doesnt macro during the fight and lets this nexus sit w no hotkey, rally, or production for 3 minutes. Yeah his opponent is sloppy, but you can get away with murder if you're playing against an opponent like Artosis

loved that match, the most exciting sc2 match ive ever seen. all the units where built. although he built canons he should have built more especially in his mining bases and main base that had his production. but the 45 min marines gave me a good chuckle. best match ever
