I am so proud to be a Cougar. I love Coach Sitake. He shows so much respect for the other schools and love for his players. It was a crazy game…Again.…so happy for the win and the success they had this year!
Looks like a possible Alamo Bowl berth for BYU against Colorado, that is what the sports media is projecting. Since I live in San Antonio and that is where BYU is projected to go I'll get my tickets.
Actually they are saying we will go there & play ASU if they lose Big 12 Championship (which is my hope; I want the rematch) or Colorado if ASU wins. I think we would have a great chance in a rematch against ASU, but I think Colorado would absolutely destroy us.
Overall great season for BYU. They exceeded expectations. BUT very disappointing they did not make it to Big 12 Championship game when they could have won both the ASU and Kansas game. Dumb play calling at end of Kansas game that 3rd down call on the last drive when they ran it and clearly Kansas was shutting down the edge all night was so Dumb. They should have passed it. Plus the bad turnovers in both games. Knowing BYU should be 12-0 instead of 10-2 is so frustrating. I hope ASU loses in big 12 Championship and BYU gets another crack at them in a bowl game.
If they lose against ISU in Big 12 championship they are not going to playoff. The committee is anti big 12 so whomever wins championship is in playoff and who ever loses is going bowling.
@@lukeskywalker7461 Plus, we see Jake back next year. He made a huge leap this year; we can expect more polish next year. I feel kinda bad for Bohannon but what're ya gonna do?
I love Kalani, he is a good man, and a players coach. But I am not sure BYU will ever have the intensity or discipline to be a top tier team in the CFP under his leadership. So many mistakes made every game. After each game Sitake’s press conferences sound exactly the same. We need to improve we need to fix mistakes and the same things continue to negatively impact the games.
10-2 record. Why replace your OC after an outstanding year. I'm not saying offense can't get better, or play calling or scheme. A-Rod knows that too. If you think about it, we may well lose Jay Hill. You want to replace two coordinators in the same year? C'mon.
@leightonanderson Your assuming Hill leaves. He might, but BYU is in a financial position to where they could very well keep him too. Yes, I want a new OC. The team didn't go 10-2 because of ARod, they went 10-2 in spite of him. This isn't a single season issue either. This is due to a pattern of poor play calling/scheme. It's not far fetched to say that if BYU had an above average offense they would be in the BIG12 championship right now. The team had a great year, ARod did not. Enjoy the success, acknowledge the failure and learn from the losses. If I learned anything it's that ARod has had years to improve his coaching/scheme (at BYU and Utah) and has never adjusted. He is who he is, an average at best OC.
Please stop calling out the defense for their "mistakes" when the offense has 10x the mistakes and are the sole reason for our 2 losses this season. Our defense stepped up all season long to give us wins and chances for wins. Jay is AMAZING... Where we lost is with A-Rod. It's 100% on his head and I'm saddened that he's being handled with such kid gloves... I know he was a Ute and probably can't handle reality and criticism but we need to call it as it is: HE lost us those 2 games. Not Jake, not LJ... ARod. I hope we don't let him coast by again because we got 10 wins because if we do we'll forever be doomed with "almost" making it to championship games.
BYU FANS: WE are going 4- 8 this year?..bring on Basketball!! Also BYU fans: We went 10-2 and made a bowl game?...Man we suck! Mediocre year another stupid bowl game the season doesn't mean anything!..🙄😖
If the BYU players were disappointed with "the news", perhaps they should have shown up to play more than 2 quarters of the last 8...care while you are in control, not when your fate is in someone else's hands.
Who ever heard of a successful BYU run first team! Sitake is always talking about emulating Edwards! Show me an Edwards team that was a run first team. Look at every successful College and NFL team and see Edwards influence on the passing game. Show me a successful College or NFL team that doesn't have the tight ends involved in the pass game. Sitake as the Head Coach is responsible. Not Aaron!
@samyadon257 true, but that's asking a lot from this BYU team, and it's rare in college football. Plus, to have it you need multiple great D players and a very good running game. Lavelle almost always had trouble with defense.
@@lukeskywalker7461 My comments have nothing to do with my like or dislike of Sitake. I think he's a good coach and potentially a great coach. I stated the facts of todays College and NFL football as I see it today. Edwards was the architect of the pass game in both and tight ends were a major part of the of the offense. Just look at the great tight ends we've had and today's successful football teams.
A successful run game is the grease in the gears of every successful offense. You physically wear out and dominate the other team pounding the rock with the offensive line. Running the ball well shortens the game, keeps the ball away from the other team, and opens up your whole offensive scheme, including play action pass. Teams that do nothing well other than throw the ball 50 times a game always lose (see Hawaii, Texas Tech, Washington State, etc). The Big 10 and The SEC, who unfortunately seem to produce the best overall results on the field, do the same things well. They physically dominate opponents with their defense and their offensive line. Then, they use the pass game and athletic receivers as a compliment to that. Most elite teams use Tight Ends as a check down or safety valve. That's what they are meant to be used for if you have an otherwise dominant team.
Class act coach, but BYU will NEVER go to the CFP as long as SITAKE is HC!! He may be a sweet, nice guy but he is NOT a Championship caliber coach with a winner’s focus! And that’s OK, if you are a BYU FAN! Just be grateful that you get to pay to see mediocrity😕
