From an article I read this morning: "Over the years in live concerts I’ve seen Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Ross Valory, John Wetton: I am mentioning Ale in the same sentence because she belongs there."
Nail on the head. Don't drink the Kool Aid, don't be a sheep following blindly. Think for yourself and form your own opinions. Thanks for the reaction. ❤✌🤘
Exactly. Don't swallow everything that is placed before you. Do your own research. This is a recurring theme in many of their songs. As lonlywind noted, the girls read " a lot, a lot, a lot". And they research , and don't just accept the first thing Google highlights. We are all guilty to some extent of doing this.
basically *Kool-Aid Kids* is about people believing everything that someone or some group tells them... they believe it so much that they blindly follow along with everything the group says and does... even to their detriment and downfall... this is known as "drinking the kool-aid"... this is one of DPA/TW's songs about social media and how it affects people in ways they don't even know... *XXI Century Blood* and *Disciple* are two other fantastic original DPA/TW songs in this same vein... their song *Z* references this song in one of its verses, too... the first two of these have OMVs that depict hard hitting stories that are true in so many ways... if you haven't seen them yet, they are well worth the watch... "Kool-Aid Kids" to me is describing the woke gateway culture of a lot of Gen. Z. People who react in a cult-like manner to anything they disagree with, people who believe words and violence are the same thing.
Close to what I was thinking but not so much gen z. Think what was happening in 2018 thru 2020 in the US on social media. Mostly by my generation Baby Boomers. And we have been called the Kool Aid generation. AKA Kool Aid Kids. Because Kool Aid came out at the same time as we were kids. I could be way off so there is that.
Drinking the Kool Aid became widely known in the late 70’s with the mass suicide in Jonestown cult. Jim Jones’s followers all drank kool aid laced with cyanide. But in popular culture it just means blindly following what’s popular without knowing or caring about the truth. And definitely applies to the current political climate in the US over the last 10-12 years
@@jeffreyjameson5510 FWIW: the JJ cult thing didn't drink poisoned Kool-Aid... it was another drink mix very similar to Kool-Aid but KA was associated with it and apparently always will be...
@@WaldoKitty thanks for the clarification. Obviously, the Jim Jones thing isn’t what this song is about. It was just more my thought that it’s how the term became popular in our culture. Kool aid along with names like Bandaid and Kleenex become synonymous with a product no matter who manufacturers it
@@jeffreyjameson5510 yep! that's exactly what has happened... i couldn't remember it earlier but i think it was flavor-aid... not sure... whatever it was it was easy to get down there...
Yes, Ale’s bass slides are sublime. Pau’s drumming is so good, love the depth with her using the floor toms. Dany, once again, kills with the vocals & adds some tasty guitar work as well. Another beautifully crafted The Warning song. I believe Ale said this was her favourite track from Error.
Great song with a real message like many others by The Warning. Nice reaction! 🤘 This song is a veiled reference to the mass suicide in Guyana in 1978 where "drinking the Kool-Aid" became the phrase to mean falling for a false ideology. Another song in a series of similar The Warning subject songs such as "Z", "Disciple", and "XXI Century Blood". The "Kool-Aid kids" are a metaphor for people who blindly follow the rules set by those in power without questioning them. The lyrics describe a group of people who are willing to use violence to solve their problems and ignore the power of words and communication, highlighting the dangers of a mob mentality. Also that they are so willing to swallow propaganda without a thought and if you dare think for yourself, you are labeled a traitor. 🔥
Ale's bass slides are destined to become legendary. Her bass groves are impeccably perfect. @johnager6226 stated it perfectly! "Like cult members in a cult." BINGO! Great reaction.
Hit the like button for me? Thanks guys!
My favorite song from the Error album, so much groove, the drum and bass interaction are top shelf!

The lyrics are so on point and timely! I'm a happy traitor from the Kool-Aid.
These young ladies are incredible song writers their msg is always profound and wise. They never disappoint thanks for reacting to TW. 🤘⚡🔥

Yes, that's exactly what it means.
Kool-Aid-Kids is a metaphor for todays society.

It was a good joke.
