This video changed my life, since watching my bench has increased by 100 pounds, I can squat 5 plates, and got married
Wow big moves, gamer
Also i wanted to drop a hot tip for the eventual guide for the dreaded Fantina battle.
If you can actually manage to keep your Eevee unevolved until then, you can actually abuse its early access to Baton Pass and RP's early access to pinch berries.
If you can get Eevee to come in into Banette (or, after some PP stalling, Dusclops, who should usually come before Banette), you can use Substitute to knock you into Pinch Berry range and Baton Pass it to a sweeper. These two Pokemon can only directly damage you with Ghost Moves, or Sucker Punch, so a Normal-type Baton Passer like Eevee can be really strong here.
This kinda requires you to ensure you KO the lead Drifblim with something that will never bait Gengar or Mismagius, and especially not let the Driftblim do its own BP start, which is a whole other problem... but it can be useful if you don't want to commit to Umbreon strats.
Really good vid! Very nice job with the editing & pacing, and of course the info is super helpful. Looking forward to seeing more in the future!
I can finally play Renegade Platinum and not wipe before Roark. Dreams really do come true.
All jokes aside, I know this took so much time and I'm super excited to finally see the end result + all the future videos. :D
Good work on your video! With how high quality it was I was expecting you to be way more popular, definitely earned my sub!
This means a lot thank you so much :’)
The goal is to expand the channel🙂
From someone who absolutely broke this game... Gliscor. Gliscor with poison heal pretty much wins you a casual run and can still be a carry for nuzlocke. My recommended moveset is this
Earthquake is obviously a must
Fly has 100 BP so you get a flying type earthquake that gives you a free heal
Sword Dance for setup, of course
Substitute
Any trainer that doesn't lead with water or ice type moves is free with this setup. It came up to a point where I just annihilated every boss battle and got bored of the game. Imagine getting bored of a Drayano hack because it was too easy.
Gliscor is absolutely sick in this game. I have plans to cover its potential when the encounter is available🔥
My favorite part of the video was the Distortion World footage. Wow. 10/10 gameplay.
Excellent video! I had no idea this was even a thing!
Please make more! This is phenomenal!
Thank you so much :’) episode 2 is in the works!
@@Disclaim_ les goooooooo
WOOO DISCLAIM VIDEO!!!!!!! :DD its just awesome as i thought it'd be !!!!!!!
Dude this is literally gonna save me when I start my Ren Plat run. Thank you for making it homie!
So glad you mentioned this, Honestly its the biggest tip I would give to everyone for the first gym.
USE ANY GRROUND TYPE.
For some reason I have found this as well on my own, the nosepass has no moves to hit you with and and Roark refuses to hard switch so any ground type can setup and sweep as he keeps trying to paralyse you.
Sanshrew and Geodude are the main ones ive used in my hardcore nuzlock to beat him as they have great setup options.
The repel manips helped me out a ton! Since Im playing on set mode an explination of the switchin AI would be amazing. Keep up the greate work!
Thanks for the feedback :’)
The Gen 4 switch ai is REALLY weird. My buddy Drxx made a video on it. It’s complicated and he made a great video explaining! Ill be sure to include this in the next episode too. ua-cam.com/video/Szxw5sC06G4/v-deo.html
Very thorough! Good job!
Having Torterra was pretty miserable in lategame since I swear about 8 out of every 10 Pokemon you'd fight had an Ice-type move for coverage.
You’re right. It is a poor counter to most Water types due to coverage. Thick Fat Venusaur is a great counter instead
@@Disclaim_ Absolutely, Thick Fat Venusaur is an unbelievably valuable asset. Such a terrific Pokemon.
The editing in this video is awesome!
Thank you :)
Can' t wait for the second vid!
Excuse me Streamer Man, I love this video.
thank you for the love homie
Literally just did bag to Roark deathless because of this thank you so much
Nice video! Very helpful, just found the romhack so it is nice to have a breakdown of it.
hey thank you for making this series of videos because I just started my hardcore nuzlocke of ren plat and I only got up to gym 2 then lost everything to her breloom, definitely looking forward to hearing tips. thanks again
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll be rolling the Gardenia episode out hopefully soon. I’m filming this week. Then scripting + editing.
Keep trying and you’ll eventually succeed!
I was hard stuck on Roark fr the past few months until i saw your video. Thank you so much
Thank you ThiaGOAT, I hope you enjoyed the video :)
Maybe one day I’ll give this rom hack a try, but probably a more casual playthrough and once I’ve got done with my Pokémon Wilds fix. Anyways, good work man! You definitely put a lot of time and effort not just in this video, but playing Renegade Platinum as you streamed this game more times that I can count.
Thanks for the feedback my friend❤️
Discum you are absolutely popping off right now
Thank you Steph :) appreciate your help
sweet edits dude
This is my first ever UA-cam comment.
Hey, I'll definetly stick around for this series, my friend and I just completed a hardcore EVless soullink and add some notes here and there of strategies we used
Oh this is gonna blow up I feel it
Subbed instantly
Thanks a bunch!
For Roark, I used Eeeve's level up move 'covet' to thief a flame orb from his larvitar, since we don't get access to that item until Veilstone/Maylene.
I never thought of that. Great idea.
Lmfao “mind yah business”
I came here for Renegade Platinum but subscribed because of that Chelsea pillow in the background. 😂💙
Also, nice video man. Thanks & Cheers. 🍻
UP THE CHELS!!😆 thanks for the feedback!!
@@Disclaim_ tough times for us Blues, so now's really the time to show comradrie mate, UP THE CHELS!! 😌💙🍻
Anyway, thanks again for the detailed video. Had played Renegade back in early 2020. Started a run this week alongside a buddy of mine, got wiped on my attempt 1, currently on my attempt 2, grinding for real this time. And what the actual F is an E4 doing so early, handed me my azz. 🤣
@@ankitrudrachatterjee I agree. it can only get better from here. Good luck on the attempt 2. Hopefully the guide can help!
Just in time for my Ren Plat egglocke. I am saved
I beat the game deathless because of this thank you disclaim you're the goat
No u gongie
early game is about to be easy now!
Thank you! ^^
Pog
Wow I just downloaded this rom hack and am about to start a Nuzlocke but didn’t want to go in blind and I find this relatively new series. How lucky
Edit: Holy crap dude this is EXACTLY what I’m looking for!! You just earned a sub!! This is insanely helpful for a first time nuzlocke of this game
Thank you so much! I’m working on the second episode, I’m hoping to have it out in the near future so stay tuned!
hoping you release more videos so I can get past mid game
Ackshually I would have liked an hour long video for the guide
“That’s too damn bad!”
Please bring next Part ASAP I am stuck on the Commander Mars 😂😂
Haha I’m working on it now! Thanks for the love!
I appreciate your efforts keep it up
I’m boutta fwu. Starting a run building around riolu as my ace. Building around that I thought of Hippo, Zard, Milo & Swellow. Went for Abra as my starter bc she’s cute asl.
Very nice team. Riolu is a great pick and you can get it early too. Insane value🔥
@@Disclaim_ yeaaa haha I basically made up a headcanon that this is the Jedi council & Lucario is the chosen one 😂
@@noaworldTM 😂and a Star Wars fan I stan that comparison!!
bro i’m tryna get the forest badge is there any way to get xp other than grinding route 216? i’ve done all trainer battles possible
Monferno taunt nosepass to stop any type of set up move from there, bring in ground type on the shockwave mudkip is good but if your'e only using one encounter you should really pick beldum.
Another great strat!
Chicken nuggies
Chicken nuggie supremacy
I am Currently playing Following Renegade Platinum.
My main team is somethings I have never used.
Breloom (Physical Attacker)
Xatu (Support)
Houndoom (Special Attacker)
Volbeat (Physical Counter)
Slowking (Tank)
Steelix (Dragon/Fairy/Eletric wall)
This team has such a good synergy I never even considered.
Next Episode Please.
Great team! I’ve been slowly working on the next episode. Getting back on the grind today!
Noob question here... how do you evolve friendship pokemons such as Budew and Riolu so fast for the first gym?
Great video, new sub here.
There’s a couple of ways.
If you’re playing on desktop you can use “Max friendship” cheat codes for base platinum. You can find them on Google, then copy paste them into your emulator.
You can also use PKHax, (not PKhex) which is a save file editor. If you’re not familiar with them I can help further.
Last is sadly manually. The soothe bell can help. And I’d just defeat low level mons. Let me know if this helps
@@Disclaim_ Oh, I didn't knew that codes for max friendship existed, thanks man, Im going to check this out. Im already using some rare candy cheats to dont spend my entire life grindind to have some fun hehehe, its gonna be great to have the max friendship as well.
I'm trying my first nuzlocke room hack with renegade platinum and that will help a lot. Thanks again, cheers from Brasil
@@gabrielcrucello1690 if you can’t find the code let me know and I’ll somehow message it to you. When you put in the code “Open your pokemons summary while holding down Start+Select all at the same time”.
I appreciate the love good luck!
Need part 2
in the works! Thanks for the love!
Tbh because of the difficulty of the game I take away the random encounters at the start of each and you chose the mon you take instead
Regarding Barry, I actually think his Empoleon team could be the hardest of the 3 teams. I don't think Empoleon, Azumarill, Breloom and Torterra are significantly harder or easier to deal with between themselves, but Arcanine is a whole lot bulkier than Infernape, has less weaknesses, a more impactful ability and is still fast and strong. More importantly, Barry's Infernape team already nudges you toward exploiting how half his team has fighting types, so the teambuilding is actually easier.
That being said, giving Barry a bulky steel type and a a bulky offensive pokemon with Intimidate for the Mars+Jupiter double battle later on more than justifies this choice. (And Dawn/Lucas do get harder with Infernape, especially Lucas though he still isn't harder than Dawn at her worst imo)
You could argue this, yes. I personally didn’t have any issues with countering Arcanine in my playthrough. Swampert and other ground types wall it well. Empoleon easily folds to many Pokémon with Close Combat in my experience.
& while Infernape does give him a half team of fighting types, Infernape could be harder to deal with for many players. It’s fast and usually packs hard hitting coverage.
Giving Empoleon + Arcanine is great for the 12v12, I agree. I will cover that once we reach Spear Pillar. Thank you for the feedback! :)
@@Disclaim_ Infernape is fast, but by the time it's actually an infernape you should have choice scarf available and due to how AI works, you're probably baiting the other two fighting types first, whose STABs are all resisted by flying types, and baiting Infernape if you kill anything with a flier since it usually packs an electric or rock coverage.
That being said, the difficulty gap if any isn't big. I might be biased from my ongoing Psychic type nuzlocke where the Pastoria Arcanine could shrug off Starmie's STAB Scald even after Stealth Rock... that was more me rambling, the point was mainly the spear pillar thing, haha.
@@guedesbrawl no worries at all. I love discussing this game.
Is it possible for you to make a tutorial on how download the game? All these other videos are pretty outdated - or does anyone else know how to get ren plat?
I could but I don’t want to risk any copyright targeting- the downloading of ROMs is illegal. I could help you privately though :)
Is there a way to level up pokemon faster in the game? Like in blaze black 2 redux. Bcuz.... Yeah
Unfortunately the “XP farm” is located later in Solaceon Town’s daycare. But it’s there! Early game grind can be done in Eterna forest because Cheryl heals your Pokémon.
@@Disclaim_ well its better that in volt white and blaze black. Where you have to defeat 5 gyms (including clay) before you get to the exp farm
@@dumq5575 yeah luckily it’s only 3 for this one lol. There’s is also a “all medicine” code for Pokémon platinum you can use. This will give you Rare Candies. It would be too long to post here but you can look it up!
@@Disclaim_ for me those code dont really work. I tried to enter them but it just says "the cheat format is not valid"
@@dumq5575 that’s weird. If you have access to PKHEX you could put Rare Candies in your bag
Been trying to set this up on my steam deck for awhile now I do all the patch files correctly but It still appears as only the regular platinum game on the title screen
I recommend maybe doing it on a pc first then somehow getting the files to a stream deck
@@Disclaim_ it’s fine I fixed it rather than simply patching the files I found one whole file with the full package
@@michaelhunter3692 awesome!
Is this rom hack available in any other language than English?
I'm a European and would like to play it in French or German😅
Hi! I am not 100% sure. I recommend trying to patch a French/German version of platinum with the instructions in the official game documents. However, this might not work as the patch may be make for English ROMs specifically
7:10 actual start
Did you even watch the video? The introduction needed to be stated for the future of the guide. Hence why the video title is called “getting started”.
If you can’t watch 7 mins of a long form video without commenting “aCTuaL sTaRT” you should probably go stick to UA-cam shorts.
How can i give my infernape a hidden ability?
It’s a randomized roll while selecting it from the briefcase
@Disclaim_ Well, that sucks. It seems like it's a big part of his kit. Thanks for the reply
Hey How can i evolve my eevee into an umbreon i
Moon stone!
Part 2 when?
I’m slowly working on it every day. Unfortunately content creation isn’t my career so it’s behind other priorities. But hopefully soon :)
How can i evolve my eevee into an umbreon plzz telll
Use a Moon Stone
@@Disclaim_ thx so much man! I was trying to evolve it by grinding it at night
@@Disclaim_ And can it learn crunch now? I have evolved it at lvl30
@@thunderplayz3483 Crunch is at 25. You’ll have to wait until the move tutor in Pastoria to get it back. You can find the move sets in the documentation from the description :)
Do my pokemons have IV's?
Yes, every Pokémon has IVs that are randomly generated in each stat. 0 is the least they can have in each stat, 31 is the most. So for example, a 31 Attack IV would be great on a Machamp because it’s a physical attacker.
Eyy Chelsea pillow
KTBFFH!!
I cant beat the first dawn fight, my chimchar refuses to learn Ember
The initial fight when you pick the starter? That one is always tough. Most don’t count it in their nuzlockes. You’re not doing anything wrong Chimchar is just frail!
@@Disclaim_ No, not the Barry fight. The one against the opposite gender rival
@@Serperior1212 okay I apologize. Chimchar learns ember at level 5 so you should have it once you pick it up
@@Disclaim_ ..It has no ember at level 8
@@Serperior1212 that is very weird. Even in regular platinum it learns it at 7. I’d maybe check if you patched the game right, or start a new save. If you need more help just reply here!
