#godflesh #streetcleaner #deadhead
one of the best songs on Streetcleaner. It's like an 80s pop song but dark and heavy as fuck. crunchy and gritty but dreamy and ethereal too. beautiful
Gloomy and Apocalyptic 👍
agree.
Pop?
@@brucehammadalee3835 You seriously can't parse that? It's a catchy hook in a major key is all he meant.
Snuffgaze
Broadrick's clean vocals have always been one of my favorites things about Godflesh. They give the music this more otherworldly sound.
I love it much better when he sings in his softer emotional voice..xynoybis from selfless album such good vocals..and white flag from the hyms album
Agreed 100%.
Can't agree more, the vocals sound dreamy and melancholic af
pretty sure his mom's a siren
What?
LYRICS:
dying ocean, dead head
watchin' the figures
march without soul
observe the pages
safe place
without your sky
full of me
full of me
full of me
dying ocean, dead head
watchin' all the figures
walk without soul
without soul
without soul
Justin foretold Jesu 25 years ahead of time.
Sounds like some kick-ass stoner metal.
I love this song. Such a heavy and catchy song, despite being more upbeat and melodic than most of Godflesh's songs, especially on Streetcleaner. After searching everywhere for lyrics to this song, I finally found them. They're pretty cool. I'll post them on a separate comment for those that want to see them.
Such an underrated track, my favourite of the Tiny Tears tracks. It's so heavy and so soothing at the same time.
My favorite track on Streetcleaner.
Greatest song I´ve ever witnessed them play live ...it sounds even nastier, colder , massive .
The last four songs on Streetcleaner were not on the original Streetcleaner release. It originally ended with Locust Furnace. The last four songs were originally on Tiny Tears EP release. This is one of those songs and I love the Tiny Tears songs. This one is my fave of the four. Strangely hopeful in the mix of Streetcleaners usual nihilism.
Justin Broadrick signed my copy of this! god bless you son! 😉😊
Really good. The clean vocals remind me of Fear Factory’s Soul of a New Machine album. This band along with Napalm Death been a great impact on them.
I agree. Justin's vocals were a big influence on Burton C. Bell. I think Fear Factory are an excellent band that were copied by so much crappy nu-metal. The harsh/melodic vocal trade offs so common in nu-metal were bad copies of Fear Factory and indirectly Godflesh.
@@mirapilatesFear Factory is a fantastic band. If you’re looking for death/extreme metal with clean vocals, you might also like Cynic(Focus album), Septic Flesh, Renascent, Strapping Young Lad, Illiuminandi, Ensiferum, and Enslaved.
You might also like Meathook Seed(Embedded), Daath(The Hinderers album), Zyklon, V:28, The Amenta, and Vortech for industrial death metal.
I still like some nu metal bands like old Korn, old Mudvayne, Disturbed, Coal Chamber, and such.
Funny you should mention that, when Fear Factory sent out their demos, a label rejected them saying it sounded too much like Godflesh and Napalm Death.
This album was so important to me then . Nothing else had come close . Live they were astounding . I met them when my band played with them ; nice blokes 🙂
Getting Broadrick to sign my Streetcleaner soon... top bloke
Godflesh does shoegaze. One of my favorites of theirs.
That is jesu.
@@nadie8767 Yes, but this track has always seemed pretty gaze-adjacent to me. I guess I should clarify that I was only referring to this track.
Or rather, powergaze, as I like to call it.
Proto jesu
WAY heavier.
how come there are always 2 people that downvote the most amazing things?
Beautiful and unnerving all at once.
Reminds me of My Bloody Valentine
Why?
Go the fuck away.
Same here, it feels like shoegaze-metal done right, which is very hard to do. Apparently Justin liked Cocteau Twins during the late 80s.
Came here to check I wasn't the only one :)
I agree, it's kind of dreamy and shoegazy, you can also feel the post-punk influence, Godflesh have always been influenced by post-punk
This is perfect.
The song before the last in the album, it just sounds like cold and fresh breeze After being trapped under the ground.
Той самий готик рок який з кладовища на промзону перебрався)🤘🤣🎸☢️🏭🏚️❤️🔥💀🖤
Best drumming ever!!!!!!! Hypnotic groove
All drumming is done by machines here
@@rustykuntz94 Broadrick played drums in Napalm's Death Scum and in Head of David's Dustbowl, so he knows his shit.
He didn't play drums on Scum, but he "knows his shit" all the same.
@@rustykuntz94 im not 100% percent sure this song is a drum machine since this song wasnt recorded with the streetcleaner sessions, and they have had live drummers before
The drumming on here is done by a drum machine. The only Godflesh albums that have live drumming are Songs of Love and Hate (done by Bryan Mantia) and Hymns (done by Ted Parsons).
Godflesh - Dead Head (Official Audio). heavy head dead Head of David sounding.....
'Cause it's all in the heat of the moment.
This is the beggining of numetal
Gav-dog and Ry-guy ❤️
The clean/harsh vocal trade off was probably a big unintentional influence on nu-metal. I first heard Burton C Bell from Fear Factory copy this style. Then so many lesser quality bands copied this style.
Gavin McInnes brought me here.
low bpm
Gavin McInnes sent me here.
