Dbl Dipper part 2 Takapari Rd 2022

Takapari Road is one of the highest public roads in New Zealand topping out around 1400m. A fine day is almost a must up here, the views are well worth the wait. Beyond the hut lays a much harder section of track that shouldn't be tackled alone.
We will only be taking a limited amount of vehicles, 15 to be exact. 5 of which is already taken by the admin team, leaving 10 spaces left. we will also be arranging accommodation for everyone going on the trip and as such we will need to be in contact with you to make the necessary arrangements. Verdi will be taking this on so be sure to talk to him or myself for further info. the accommodation will be booked for those who want to stay there from the Sunday to the Wednesday.
There will be a communal camp and plenty of braais/bbqs, etc.

Awesome content! I thought Nevis is the highest public road in NZ at 1,300 metres? So Takapari at 1,400m is the highest then?

Jeeze that road has fallen to pieces since I was last there. Mind you, that was 10 years after it was first bulldozed in, in 1970.
