- Hey guys,
So working on another big request but figured I'd break the pace up a little bit and hit the 60s haha. Thank you guys so much for everything! Big ups for all the support, messages, subs, comments, donations, and fan art. You ROCK the Casbah, always.
Best to ya
Eric

Either I haven't noticed them, or you haven't done covers of "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel or "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult
That would be great!!!
Tracer Scythe hell yes some blue oyster cult would be amazing
+Tracer Scythe The Sound of Silence, yes!
+Tracer Scythe look up Nevermore's cover of "Sound of Silence"
i play that California dreams at dad funeral in December 2010 but i miss my father very much!
REALLY!?A?A? Then you do California Love?... It's the dimple guys, the magic is in the dimple.
Mamma Cass meets Blind Guardian
do Big in Japan meets metal !!
Are you reading my mind? You keep doing metal renditions of songs that I love!! Do a metal version of Earthworm Jim next!! ;)
I can't do those sweeps even with my air guitar.
A W E S O M E !
very nice intro and the part 0:49 - 1:25 is just beyond epicness!! the section 2:00 - 2:44 is not that badass... but the guitar solo after that is kickass!!
so great job on this bro!
Dude you are fucking awesome!
Can't stop listening
SUBSCRIBED! YOU ARE GODLY.
I'm sure he wants to do songs that people have actually heard of.
I feel bad for the 32 people who disliked this, they will never know what good music is, and that's a damn shame :/ lmaoooo
I think this one is in my top 10 from you, dude. Nicely done!
2:00 Wow! Two thumbs up!
Yeah,I was not expecting 2pac😂
Rock, rock , rock, metal, metal, metal. From a nearly 50 year old metal head at heart, you sir are amazing. Keep up the good work. I need someone like you to put a serious twist on some of the material I write. Kudos to you.
god those sweeps
lol, you always throw me off with these types of songs...totally unexpected once again! Very sick....now if we can just get that non important, but VERY important *(o me) E-SWAT video game music goin... ;-) lol
no, not just Voodoo. "As the World falls down", "Underground", and there's also that little song he sings during the stair chase ^w^
Actually, Canada never uses spelt. If you're Canadian, you'd know. Secondly, Spelt is a type of wheat.
I bow to your greatness! California Dreamin' is one of my favorite 60's songs and throwing in California Love was EPIC!! You, sir, are fantastic!
эта музыка будет вечной
I never said he didn't have originals. But if he does, I didn't see them. They're not on his channel. I'm a firm believer in evidence to support a claim. As far as record labels, maybe as you already stated, he just plays for fun. Signing contracts that obligates you to make songs for an album, then tour and other miscellaneous stuff takes the fun out of what you love to do.
This was cool! Also. Any chance that big request you're working on might be the Jon Williams Superman theme? I thought that that would make a bad ass metal cover.
Ozzy did it a good many years ago...
HOW THE FUCK DID TUPAC FIND HIS WAY IN THIS?!? That was fucking amazing!
One of my mother' favourite songs. Need to show it to her. Thank you!
Man you are good on that thing!
totally agree. David Bowie's music in the Labyrinth meets metal *_*
I know the band the lead singers son played in. illScarlett. :)
Hey, EROCK? just wanted to say: great job on all your covers, or as you call them: meet metals
But what I would love to see is a metal versin in actual band play for the entire original song, perhaps with actual voicals (doesn't have to be the original?) because that would be the bomb :)
Anyway, in case you won't do this, I still love this cover a lot^^ just having the original song completely covered would be kickass :D
Peace out bro and keep up with the good work ^^
Please do Ninja Gaiden (NES version) meets metal. I'm thinking of this one mostly: watch?v=zP_D_YKnwi0
Somebody That I Used To Know by GOTYE, or We Are Young by Fun
Would it be possible to cover the entire California love song by Tupac? Replace the chorus with your own and leave Tupacs vocals in place? Or any other Tupac song for that matter? This metalhead has a soft spot for Tupac songs...Reminds me of when I was a young kid in the hood...mostly good memories though.
nah, i'd say it looks more like the orthogonality equation... so square the you and metal separately.
Wow .... congratulations .... very good .....
Ficou do caralho essa versão ....
Great as awlays. I would like to complain on tiny thing; doing two different songs in one video does not do you justice. We can only click the like button once =/
The tone of "California Dreamin" changed with your version but it still sounds supurb!
Thank you again for another great video.
Awesome,
I had a great idea the other day: You should team up with vadrum.
...if you/anyone with ears haven't/hasn't heard of him then WTF are you waiting for?
Honestly, the collaboration would be amazing, with a 5minute solo each per song. I can almost smell the awesome!!
You have to have originals to cut a record. And not everybody wants to sign with the corporates..
i think your pretty talented. Even though your making awesome videos but taking character to metal. I like to see ya do some nightwish and metallica and maybe some megadeth. with you god solos. that would be incredible. please consider it.
sometimes some songs transfer better than others. Its still awesome that you are able to do this, and definitely look like you are enjoying yourself. Props to ya man.
I'd like to see you do Ghostbusters (the original) meets metal.
this makes the wilson phillips cover version ive been forced to hear at work sound like garbage, at least worse than it already was. completely \m/ as usual, havewnt made a video i havent enjoyed. glad we share the same first name and love of METAL!
First in response, I have to say the level of skill this man demonstrates leads me to believe that he is more than capable of generating original material--i.e. I think he just does these for fun.
Second, there are such things as independent record labels.
Keep it up, Eric. I dig all your stuff, bruh. One creative comment though and don't take this the wrong way, but maybe you could try changing up your tone a little. You know, experiment a bit.
Anyway, keep bringing the sick and I'll keep watching.
Yeah, agree! That would be great, you are becoming my "gitar hero" 331Erock! Me as a Metallica fan would love to see you next to Kirk Hammett, somehow i think you have the same style, but thats just my opinion! Cheers Mate!
Well, this American is asking both of you to please let this comment thread die. This is a Meets Metal video, completely unrelated to national prejudices and the finer points of the varieties of English. xkcd.com/386/
You know, there are a lot of "[Song] meets [Genre]" mash-ups around, but I like yours best, because you don't just play the original score with a drum line and with another instrument. You actually add your own score to it.
just found this and now i feel like i can do something productive with my life. can you make a cd and "give" or sell it to me? do alot of motoX stuff and im really diggin yer style, would be great inna sk8 tape?....
You are absolutely great. If you recorded both voices as it seems (I hope that's the correct word in English), you should think about making videos that show you multiple times playing each one.
I think this is my favorite of your vids so far, Erock. Got me thinking about how many other old songs would do well with the Meets Metal treatment. Spirit in the Sky? Time of the Season?
:O I love this song! I did not ever think I would hear it metalized. It's...it's glorious!
He cannot Leagaly Release his Covers, There is a LOT of Legalities to go through to market Covers, usually all handled by Record Labelels, or the Artists are with the Same Record group
ERIC if you play the other instruments too then can you record all of them and have them on a 2x2 grid or something just so we can see your badassness!!!! THUMBS UP SO HE CAN SEEE
Hey .. uhm .. did you know the "redemption song" from Bob Marley? i would go on my knees for you to ask "PLease, would you play this song?" (my english is not the best sry :P)
This sounds like it should be the theme to Hulk Hogans: Thunder in Paradise. (That series about the boat)... I had not thought about that show in almost 2 decades.. How do you do that?
Amazing. :)
I know you did a Final Fantasy cover, but a whole Dancing Mad would be amazing (though kind of insane). And I agree...Bowie from Labyrinth. XD Or just Bowie in general!
Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya already has a metal/hard rock version has already been done by the Dropkick Murphies, though I Would love to hear a metal version of Loch Lomond
I'm playing California Dreamin' on classical guitar in my own awsome arrangement (quite similiar to Michael Chapdelaine), but that thing totally rocks and beats it! :)
Imitated, not duplicated.
There are few that have the soul of David Gilmour when he tears into a guitar, but Erock is da man. I wouldn't mind a full medley of Floyd
well the only thing that change beteween the two is the words, but if he somehow incorporates the words i think the soviet version's lyrics go with the melody better
On the off chance that Eric considers it for a future project, it should be noted that the song's called "What's up" by Four non-blondes to make it easier for him to find.
Have you ever done a piece from Jesus Christ Superstar?
Whoa whoa wait...you didn't just mix California Dreaming into California Loving... :| Not sure I'm completely happy with this mind blowing combo...perhaps.
Goddamn! You are a genius! You are the best thing on youtube in my opinion, I can't wait to see what else you come with ;)
Thank you for being legendary!
This guy is awesome. He enjoy the music! Other people dont enjoy playing, only for fun, but Erock enjoy and feel the music. Thanks for your work... Keep rockin'!
idk why but i actually really like the original of this song, im 20 but if i were a hippie this would be the song i tripped out to the most in the 60's
love your music bro! so does my 18 month old son:) getting his ass a guitar so he can be shredding so beautifully someday! thank you for your music:)
GOD, Erock ur sweaping is just increadible. Every time im amazed at how clean and insane u are at it along with every other thing u can do on guitar
I am not into metal, but I love your interpretations... And I wonder if you'd ever do the Green Acres theme... I think it would be funny...
I found a 4 years old video of him shredding, if you want to hear how he has improved: /watch?v=RDRRUkFLcIo (better quality in the description)
My new favorite, love that old song, which is weird because I don't listen to anything like it. But this will fit nicely in my metal collection.
I heard this song many times being i'm 43, but really fell in love with the song when I heard it "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story". I meant the Mamas & The Papa's version not Tupac's Lol
Due why are you not getting paid ?? you are more pro then some artists :D:D:D:D
0:46 gave me freakin' chills 0.0
1:25 who's doing the vocals? Specifically the female vocals. I recognize them but am having a hell of a time remembering who they are.
Check Out Judas Priest, they did a cover of Johnny B. Goode, for the movie starring Anthony Michael Hall. It's on the Album Ram it Down.
Can a program really do that? I mean I have used a couple programs but they didn't sound as fluent and smooth as the one in this vid =/
I think the other instruments are made on a virtual studio. He has said somehting about it on another video in the annotations i think
This silly argument could be resolved so easily if either one of you named the source of knowledge you're using and taking it from there
Hey! Just for asking if you could make F-zero meet metal medley? Example:
Big blue /watch?v=xvwgkhjVM7w or
Mute city /watch?v=a0WzWdSVFmE
331Erock an advice from a fan of yours, if you can move from major note to another Gradually instead jumping it that well be awsome
you know what I love about your video's. That smile that's always on your face when you play, you always show enjoyment in your playing.
Charlie Parra del Riego, Cesar Huesca y 331Erock mis GUITARRISTAS FAVORITOS DE YOU TUBE
Man, "California Dreamin'" by itself is awesome. But combine it with metal, and you have a happy man in your hands. You, sir, rock.
Thats just way to Fu**ing AWESOME!!!!!!!!! great job man love all your vids cant wait to hear what else you have in store for us.....
Ok.... That was awesome!'. Someday when forced to look back upon my life I will not regret those4 minutes in any way what so ever.
I think if you did some queen mash ups they would sound fantastic, but then again everything you do it's just unbelievable. :)
i shared the video before the first minute :D amazing :D i don't know how its named in english but my hairs on my arms stood up :)
you and liamENGL should get together and have a guitar battle, 2:45 ....... if i didnt own 5 guitars i would quit playing
how about "rock the casbah meets metal"? i think it's about time with you mentioning the song in all your video descriptions :)
OF COURSE ! :D
WHAT OTHER EXPLANATION CAN THERE BE ? i have been thinking about how he got so good, this is it !
thank you ! :D
I have to make another comment since I didnt comment at the end of this video but.. Wow! I freaken love this version so much! :D
Omg! I didnt know what song it was when i read the name, but when i heard the song i knew exactly what song it was! AMAZING!!
waooo men is wonderful ¡¡¡¡*-* i friend I could spend the tab of this song as you touch please I would like to learn it?
It's one of your best I think :D ! Your smile is always so cute... And, with or without the smile, you're a real genius. :)
So I was sad and feelin' blue tonight 'til I found Erock videos. Now the world is brighter! Thanks for the joy and awe.
I don't know if i have to be impressed by his technique, or by a smile on a metal guitar player's face !!
Awsome as F.CK !!
Go check "Charlie Parra del Riego"!!!!! He is awesome, and he is a METAAAL guitar player, did I mention he is AWESOME?!!!
ok, so you took one the best songs ever written and made it metal... I have to say... why the hell not, it rocks!
I have watched like 20 of his videos and this one may be my favorite, anyway, he earned the subscribe 19 videos ago!
