Jeesh, these "kids" would be in their late 20's now. Awesome to finally find the match to my band's performance video. Rock on, and I hope they're still performing.
Normally I don't like this song because I've overheard it so many times but these kids are really good and I even caught myself bobbing my head up and down as they started jamming. Very good job and props to the drummer. You need a good drummer to keep the beat going.

I was able to make my way to Ronnie Van zant's viewing at a local church. One of the saddest days of my life. Rock on fellas!
What an amazing cover of a brilliant song. All the boys and the teacher rocked, and to see the guys at the end facing each other and no doubt saying. We nailed it. Well done, all of you rocked and took the roof off
I really like how the bassist is acting almost the same as the original on the live version, its a different Time and its still the big man of the group rocking out while playing the bass 🙂
I got the chills! that was an amazing and well-executed cover! When I was a senior in my high school 7 years ago we would play a lot of Rolling Stones or Eagles for Senior Days. Everyone was great, but he totally nailed the solo!
dAAAAAAANG, put a big ole smile on my face when they started playing that guitar 🎸 can't stop smiling 😊 My husband is now in Heaven but he partied with Leonard Sknard back in the day in Jackson, Fla when they were just starting to go out on the road. RIP KENNY, Miss you more than you'll ever know!
OMG!! WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE A FREE-BIRD?! DAMN, THIS IS SO A CLASSIC ❤
Beautiful enough to make a grown man cry
Old guy here and used to have a garage band when young and we never sounded this awesome. You young men nailed it .
that entire instrumental section was aced from the guitarist, drummer, slide, etc. all parties involved. nailed it. like shit.
I knew a couple guys in high school who had the talent to play this but never did.. I can't believe I am just coming across this. This was outstanding!
The drummer looks like a bassist and the bassist looks like a drummer
Lol true
LOL
What a great guitar solo, I bet the crowd was spinning with joy🐀
What really catches my eye on this video, is great musicianship by these seniors and the fun they are having playing! Well done to all of you! I hope you kept on playing well past your high school years.
Every one of these musicians brought their best game on this night.
Kudos to them. Rehearsal hours must have been really fun!
That was amazing. 10 years later. Amazing no matter what!
Jesus is this school entirely made of people with red hair, everyone I see has red hair lol
Looks like 2 out of 5 to me

Great job! I lived up there back then. My most recent "viral" video is also "Free Bird" and the analytics indicated that this was one of the videos people would watch before and after, so they fed each other.
I've been listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd since I was 13. I'm now 61 and I have to say - I LOVED THIS!!!! I had to watch it twice it was so good. It made my day today.
Truly amazing!!
Well done!
I recently got to see Skynyrd in concert and this is exactly how they sounded live!!!
Incredible performance gentleman! Brings back high School memories of my favorite band. I was at Jacksonville University my first semester of college when the plane crash happened. I was able to make my way to Ronnie Van zant's viewing at a local church. One of the saddest days of my life. Rock on fellas!
Peoples who dont know this song must fall asleep at first and then had an heart attack when solo kicks in :D
Hot damn they were great. Huge props to Red on the Rickenbacker his solo was amazing but man that drummer is a human metronome.
What a thrill this must have been for those boys in the band!
It's a Freebird kinda Afternoon...... these kids were graduating Seniors at Niskayuna last year.... they certainly rocked the house!
These kids in the crowd had no idea what was about to hit them. Outstanding.
What an amazing cover of a brilliant song. All the boys and the teacher rocked, and to see the guys at the end facing each other and no doubt saying. We nailed it. Well done, all of you rocked and took the roof off
Kudos to the kid that did the guitar solo he nailed it
Stole this comment from a different video…. But the dad lore is gonna go CRAZY
Dayum, this is already 10 years old
I really like how the bassist is acting almost the same as the original on the live version, its a different Time and its still the big man of the group rocking out while playing the bass 🙂
I got the chills! that was an amazing and well-executed cover! When I was a senior in my high school 7 years ago we would play a lot of Rolling Stones or Eagles for Senior Days. This gig totally blew us away! Congrats guys!! I was nearly bouncing out of my chair in excitement just watching the video haha.
the lead guitar players emotion before he hits the solo oh my... they absolutely crushed it
