    Thank you Glenn for another great video. Like you I have now puchased a Grainfather mill and I am very pleased with the crush. I tried setting 5 initially but a much better result for me in my Speidel BRAUMEISTER was the number 6 setting.
    I notice you are not using your BAC Brewing plates. Did you have a reason for not using them.
    I love your fermenter, it makes everything very easy.
    Cheers mate keep up the great videos.

    Nice to see the trusty BM still going strong in the new brewery, which looks amazing btw 🍻
    I need a new pH tool with better temperature correction, the one you use at 07:24 - is that the Milwaukee MW102 PRO+ ?
    It seems to do what I need and a lot faster than my current pH meter, which is also limited to 60°C.

    • @homebeerbrewery
      @homebeerbrewery  6 місяців тому

      BM is a awesome machine! The PH meter is indeed a Milwaukee MW102 PRO+ 2-in-1 pH and Temperature Meter with ATC. Cheers 🍻

    Hello Glen from Tasmania Australia where it is 'minus 14C' '-14C' mid winter down here and it is a cold one, if you want crystal clear beer try Biofine in your kegs, I pulled out the dip tubes and replaced them with floating dip tubes so it draws beer from the top of the keg, 30ml of biofine mixed in the top of the beer in the keg and your beer will be crystal clear in 24 hours, biofine is much better than Gelatin too

    Blijft mooi de oude vertrouwde BM!
    Ik heb een paar vragen....
    Tot welke PH zuur je het water aan wat uit de kraan komt voordat je de mouten erbij gooit?
    Hoe kan je meten hoe het waterprofiel eruit ziet , de PH gaat met een PH meter maar hoe meet je de rest van de waarden?
    Maken de toevoegingen waarmee je het water aanpast erg veel verschil in het eindresultaat ?
    Welke toevoegingen gebruik je en waar koop je deze?
    Veel vragen ;-)
    Lekker bezig , erg interessant en leuk om naar te kijken.
    Ga zo door!

      Hoi! Ik corrigeer het water aan de hand van Brewfather calculatie. Elk mout en type bier vereist een andere correctie. Meestal gebruik ik rond de 15 ML melkzuur bij de BM, Brewtools ketel met een batch van 65 liter rond de 20. Natuurlijk vaak ook Epsom salt, gypsum, calcium chloride en mogelijk ook backing soda, de laatste is vooral handig als je mash iets te zuur is, corrigeer je de PH weer van b.v 5,1 naar 5,3 . De waarden van je water zijn bekent bij je drinkwaterbedrijf, bij ons Vitens en die hebben openbare test rapporten die je kan downloaden. Zoek maar eens. Groeten 👋🏻 cheers

      @@homebeerbrewery Bedankt voor je antwoorden !
      Ik zal de rapporten zeker eens opzoeken , eens kijken wat de Vitens hier zegt over mijn kraan water ;-)
      Ik heb nog 2 vragen 😁
      Ik zie dat je de ss brewtech tanks mooi kan desinfecteren met je pomp en de ball van ss brewtech.
      Zelf zit ik nog elke keer te knoeien met een plantenspuit om overal goed bij te komen , vandaar dat ik natuurlijk op zoek ben gegaan naar de pomp en benodigde materialen.
      De pomp had ik opzich zo gevonden bij de braumarkt , de ball van ss brewtech was ook zo gevonden bij unibrew.
      Maaaar nu komt het probleem .... welke materialen heb jij nog mee gebruikt om de cirkel tussen tank en pomp rond te krijgen?
      Als ik de braumarkt binnen loop dan hebben ze nooit alle materialen om het compleet te maken dus ben je al gauw aan het internet overgeleverd .
      Dan nog een 2e vraag.
      In een filmje van lang geleden had je nieuw filtergaas voor de braumeister gekocht bij een italiaanse webshop als ik me goed herinner .
      De gaasfilters die je van braumeister bij de ketel krijgt gaan niet erg lang mee , volgens mij waren die gaasfilters die jij toen had ook van ander materiaal.
      Heb jij een linkje van deze filters?
      Veel dank alvast!

    Great job. One question, did you pressurize during initial fermentation or did it pressurize organically through the fermentation process? If not, when did you add the C02? Thank you. Btw, I also purchased the F80 and love it but it is having trouble keeping 2 bar. It drops to 1.5 bar and stays there.

    • @homebeerbrewery
      @homebeerbrewery  5 місяців тому

      Hi! Thanks for the kind comment. The CO2 is added by the fermentation process it self. I don’t add CO2 during fermentation (I don’t know this is the right way) sadly to hear your fermenter is leaking gas, probably the big seal on the lid… but why these high pressure? For carbonation? I ferment with much lower pressure 😄 Cheers mate 🍻

    • @andreasstummer4596
      @andreasstummer4596 5 місяців тому +1

      @@homebeerbrewery thank you for the quick response. The 2 bar was part of a recipe I tried. I agree 2 bar is not needed. One of my professional brewer friends told me to actually keep the spunding valve open during initial fermentation and close it after FG has been reached. He then puts about 1.5bar of pressure into the tank to speed up secondary. Cheers and thanks again for your awesome videos.

    So, how is the BM vs B80, just press the button and done? :) I think it's still makes sense to use the BM for easy brews regardless of some comments. I have the newer version with the cooling jacket incorporated within the BM and also a wort pumping device, so I can use less external tools.

    Thanks for the Video 👍. I use Braumeister 20l. How do you filter the wort from the hops before pumping into the fermenter?

    • @homebeerbrewery
      @homebeerbrewery  7 місяців тому

      I use a whirlfloc tablet 10 min left on the boil, after cooling just let the trub settle on bottom. Result is Cristal clear wort right to pump out the normal spigot or ball valve, I tilt te BM a bit and when the wort isn’t clear at the very end I stop the transfer. Works for me. 🍻 cheers

    • @homebeerbrewery
      @homebeerbrewery  6 місяців тому +1

      Adding oxygen after just splashing the wort into the fermenter it’s not necessary to add more oxygen us using dry yeast right of the package. When reused, after harvesting it’s necessary for sure but even after minimal doing it I had great results in the past. Not with this fermenter, BT sells a “oxygenation kit” for it but again, not necessary for most of the dry yeast. Cheers 🍻

    • @RenatoTodorov
      @RenatoTodorov 6 місяців тому

      @@homebeerbrewery yeah I've never had major issues and I usually don't re-use yeast but after a Bohemian Pilsner of mine turned out a bit too sweet, I considered buying an aeration kit for my Miniuni. That would also allow me to brew big beers like Barkey Wines which I love.
